Given the Dallas Mavericks are up 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals, they instead of the Minnesota Timberwolves are now the squad to take team-building lessons from. The Dallas lesson is clear: athletic, rangy wing players around dynamic star ball-handlers. The good news for the Bucks is they have those ball-handlers in Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton, plus Giannis Antetokounmpo who checks boxes in both of those skill sets. The bad news is a lot of the Bucks roster around them is old and slow.
Ahead of today’s Gyro Step, Ti Windisch compiled a list of players similar to Derrick Jones Jr. using three-point shooting, height, wingspan, and average speed and sorted a list of 17 players who are either feasibly obtainable for Milwaukee or actually already on the roster, and then he and Rohan Katti discussed each option. At the end their picked their favorites from the list and chose who they wanted the Bucks to acquire the most.
Also, before the DJJ Matrix talk Ti and Rohan discussed the NBA Finals matchup (probably) of Boston vs Dallas and who they hated less out of the two teams, and the insane rumor that the Bucks are a James Harden landing spot option according to oddsmakers.

The Milwaukee Bucks have a big offseason coming up, and it seems Jon Horst will indeed be the one running the ship for it as according to multiple journalists the Bucks denied the Detroit Pistons the opportunity to interview Horst for their President of Basketball Operations job. The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their third straight game of the first round in Indiana on Sunday evening as the Pacers took a commanding 3-1 lead via a 126-113 win over a shorthanded Bucks squad. Milwaukee was without both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard (plus Chris Livingston) and also dealt with Khris Middleton and Patrick Beverley suffering injuries mid-game that hampered them down the stretch. Oh, and Bobby Portis got ejected in the first quarter! So yeah.

The Milwaukee Bucks have had an uneven week, starting with an outstanding blowout of the Oklahoma City Thunder, followed by back-to-back tough losses against the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans, before Milwaukee notched a nice with without Damian Lillard against the Atlanta Hawks on the road. With so much inconsistency on display, Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti had a simple question broken into several parts to discuss: do they trust the Bucks heading into the NBA Playoffs?
Ti and Rohan broke the question into pieces, first deciding they definitely trust Giannis Antetokounmpo no matter what before then diving into Dame Lillard, Khris Middleton, the big rotation of Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis, Malik Beasley as the fifth starter, the bench unit of Pat Bev, Pat Connaughton, Jae Crowder, and Portis (plus A.J. Green), Milwaukee's place in the standings pre-Playoffs, and finally the coaching performance of Doc Rivers. Finally, Ti and Rohan shared if they currently trust the Bucks to win a championship.
