On episode 68 of Legend and number four in our Big Foot Month series, Samm and Amy discuss the Fouke Monster from Fouke, Arkansas. Similar to Big Foot, he’s a tall hairy ape-like man that smells bad who may or may not have red glowing eyes. However, unlike his Pacific Northwestern cousin, he likes to dwell in the bogs and creeks of the Midwest. The Fouke Monster has many nicknames such as the Boggy Creek Monster, Swamp Stalker, Southern Big Foot, or Arkansas Big Foot, believe us… the list goes on. Listen in as we discuss the popular Bobby Ford encounter and much much more. Also, if you have any interesting stories to tell about the Fouke Monster or anything else that screams spooky or strange, don’t forget to submit your stories at our email [email protected] or on our website, https://www.thisislegendpod.com/contact

On the 64th episode of Legend, Samm and Amy discuss the history of Project Blue Book. In the 1940s, UFO sightings were being reported so frequently that the government set up not one, not two, but three projects as a way to investigate the claims of UFOs. Project Sign was too pro UFOs, so after it’s short life, Project Grudge was formed. Project Grudge was more of a debunking campaign though and some higher government officials weren’t pleased with it so was nixed. Then we end up with Project Blue Book, headed by the level headed- not too pro and not too con- Edward J. Ruppelt (who coined the term UFO) who hired on astronomer J. Allen Hynek (the man who created the list of different types of Close Encounters). Together, with their team, they investigated many UFO reports. Listen in as Samm and Amy discuss the many ups and downs, and the cause for conspiracies, around Project Blue Book. 17 miles south of Mexico City is a small island, no larger than a football field, that has been collecting dolls since the 1950s. Isla De Munecas actually translates into Doll Island and is called The Island of the Dolls by English speaking people. Don Julian Santana Barrera claimed to have witnessed a small girl drown in the canal that surrounds the island and depending on which version you hear, it’s either to appease the little girl’s spirit, protect the little girl from demons in the after life, or honor her. Listen in as Samm and Amy discuss possible theories as to why Don Julian ended up amassing over 1,000 dolls on this island before his tragic and somewhat mysterious death in 2001. Is the island evil or is it simply a shrine created for a life lost too soon? On the 60th episode of Legend, listen as Samm and Amy discuss the fascinating case of Lizzie Borden and the murders of her father Andrew Borden and step mother Abby Borden. Although the rhyme would have us believe that Lizzie delivered a whooping total of 81 whacks with an ax, the reality, although no less gruesome was a total of 28 and there is no conclusive evidence that Lizzie ever actually delivered the fatal blows. It’s a plain ole case of “who done it?”
