  • In this inspiring episode, Wendy sits down with adventurer Anna Hergert to explore the transformative power of saying yes to new experiences—whether it’s paddling a kayak in the ocean for the first time or conquering one of Nova Scotia’s most challenging hikes solo. At 67, Anna shares how she has found a renewed sense of purpose and connection in her life, proving that age is no barrier to adventure. From navigating the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy to designing custom, one-of-a-kind tours, Anna reveals the importance of embracing both physical and mental fitness as part of her commitment to herself. She also opens up about the lessons learned from balancing spontaneity with self-care, and how taking a step back before saying yes has helped her avoid burnout. Wendy reflects on her own journey as a guide, sharing how these moments of adventure and self-renewal aren’t just about trying something new—they’re about bringing the full breadth of your life experience into each moment. Join Wendy and Anna for a conversation full of wisdom, daring adventures, and the powerful ripple effects that come from honoring your own journey.

    About Anna:
Anna Herbert operates Tide Rollers and Mud Lurkers in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. Her custom tour company has a focus on creating memorable experiences for most abilities while exploring the ocean floor in the Bay of Fundy with the highest recorded tides in the world. Before she moved to Nova Scotia nearly four years ago, she spent her time as a landscape photographer, creating textile art, exhibiting her work, and teaching photography, as well as art and design to fiber artists. It took the pandemic and one beach to reignite a passion for adventure and her deep appreciation for nature. Delighted with the discovery of more than one beach, Anna set out exploring on a daily basis. Soon she shared her nature discoveries with newcomers and visitors alike. Her commitment to ensuring a safe outcome with every event led to Outdoor Council of Canada Field Leader Instructor and Advance Wilderness First Aid certifications. “Safety first” is a motto she observes with her tour groups and for herself. Backpacking trips during the shoulder seasons are her guilty pleasure. When she is not hiking, guiding tours, sharing her knowledge about the highest tides in the world, or snowshoeing, Anna can be found at home playing with fabric or yarn, or cuddling her four Shitzus.

  • Have you ever found yourself following someone else’s rules, only to realize it just doesn’t feel right? In this episode, Wendy and her guest, Sylvie Mazarolle, dive deep into the journey of saying yes to yourself and embracing authenticity in both life and work. Sylvie shares her personal story of reclaiming her creative vision after a course left her feeling disconnected from her passion. By tweaking her approach to align with what truly excites her, she’s rediscovered her love for capturing the beauty of life in all its forms—people, places, and adventures—and the magic started flowing again as soon as she did. Wendy reflects on the lessons she learned from working with her coach, Gina DeVee, emphasizing the importance of trusting your own values instead of outsourcing your power. Together, they discuss the magic that happens when you release control, stay open to the unexpected, and rediscover what makes you feel truly alive. No matter what phase of life you’re navigating, this episode is a powerful reminder to say yes to what feels right for you and to live a life that makes you feel truly alive. Tune in and say yes to the life that’s waiting for you!

    About Sylvie:
Sylvie is a professional photographer with over 15 years experience as a visual artist. Eight of those years were spent as a professional makeup artist in Toronto’s film and fashion industry. Now based in Dieppe New-Brunswick Canada, you can find her behind the lens creating beautiful images for others to enjoy. In her photography, she focuses on using natural light as much as possible and trusting in not just what she sees, but how she sees it. She uses both her past experience in color theory and storytelling as well as her intuition. The results are rich, elegant images that evoke emotions. In addition to traveling, portraits, and food photography, she mentors others on how to unlock their own creativity. “ Photographs are the only thing capable of freezing the passing of time in today's fast-paced world. It’s a way to slow down and be present. When I am photographing just for me, it’s a form of self care and art therapy. It can be very meditative. There is beauty everywhere. Slow down and take a moment to appreciate it, taste it, and get to know it. Enjoy a Slice Of Life.”

Athena Thiel knows the power and pleasure of abundance and alignment—of understanding one's desires and pursuing them. For years, she experienced the discontent of living a life on everyone else's terms. As Athena continues to expand and grow in her own journey, her mission is to share her learnings with others, radically encouraging them to choose alignment for themselves, their families, and their clients. She believes that when individuals align with their consciousness and have the courage to bring their specific gifts to the world, they invite everyone around them to do the same. Athena emphasizes that when we are in alignment, we feel true abundance flowing through us—joy, connection, purpose, and peace—ultimately contributing to changing the world's consciousness.

This week on the podcast, Wendy hosts guest Kathryn Garland. This episode dives deep into the concept of "selfishness" and how focusing on our own needs can be perceived negatively, yet it is essential for our well-being. Wendy and Kathryn explore the power and meaning we assign to words, emphasizing that it’s not the word itself but its impact. Wendy shares her determination to speak freely on her podcast, while Kathryn discusses the importance of intention behind words. As mothers, they reflect on the practice of conscious parenting, viewing their children as mirrors, and the beauty of learning together with curiosity and do-overs. Wendy’s journey of parenting in her mid-50s brings joy and fulfillment, highlighting the importance of allowing children to explore their true selves. The episode also delves into self-care, advocating for giving from our overflow and embracing the small things that bring joy. Wendy and Kathryn discuss the art of saying no to things that no longer serve us, creating space for new, aligned opportunities, and the importance of surrendering and trusting in God’s plan. Join us for a heartwarming conversation about intentional living, letting go, and finding joy in the simple, steady moments.

    About Kathryn:
Kathryn Garland is a wife and mother, the badges she wears the proudest. She has always wanted to be those two people and is greatly blessed with four amazing children. As she got more entrenched in motherhood, she began to realize how much more important being a homeMAKER was than she ever imagined. Her mission and purpose is to help people see the power of the home and the possibilities that come from a safe and grounded home (in the heart, in relationships, in the physical dwelling) and the true magic we can create from this place. Kathryn is a teacher by training, turned homeschooling mama, lifelong learner, and farmer's wife. She lives a life dreams are made of in British Columbia, Canada.

Join us in this episode as Wendy hosts artist and creativity mentor, Valerie McKeehan. In this delightful conversation, Wendy and Valerie dive into the power of creativity, abundance, and gratitude. Valerie shares how her journey with “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron has enhanced her creativity and helped her release scarcity thinking around art. Wendy offers a fresh perspective on jealousy, encouraging us to use it as a guide to discover our own desires and to thank those who inspire us. Together they explore the beauty of contrast and the lessons it provides, the courage to show up authentically even when it feels awkward, and the importance of embracing the journey. Tune in for a conversation that will inspire you to embrace ease, joy, and the adventure of the unknown.

    About Valerie:
Valerie McKeehan has been a full-time artist since 2012. She worked commercially with clients like Starbucks and Anthropologie, published a book with Workman Publishing about hand-lettering, and opened (and closed) a brick-and-mortar store before having her first daughter in 2019. After the change that 2020 and two little ones created in her world, Valerie began making art for art’s sake again, exploring painting and soft pastels that led to commissioning her original art pieces and opening up her passion project: education for artists who lacked the confidence to make the art they wanted to make. She offers education, courses, and an artist membership to her community while she continues to create artwork that moves her soul. Valerie is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and their two daughters living a creative life with her girls and indulging her inspirations through commissions and creative mentoring for other women on a similar journey.
