Is the Wii a vintage console? As much as the olds don't want to admit it, it certainly seems that way. We take a trip down memor-Wii lane to talk about Nintendo's interesting experiment that took the video game world by storm and went so far as to push Microsoft and Sony to come up with their own, much worse, motion-control systems.
-
We got the thing, the "thing" in this case being a fall Nintendo Direct, and what a roughly 40 minutes that was, am I right? It's official: E3 2023 is a thing, a thing which is going to happen in the second week of June next year. This is tremendously exciting news, but it's so far away, so we also talk about more recent news. For example, Live A Live preview embargoes have lifted, there's rumors of a new Nintendo Direct (evergreen statement), and we talk about why the GameCube's colorful shell makes it worthy of our love.
-
Nintendo and its partners brought us some pretty generous news considering this was a "Mini-Direct." We talk about the surprises like Persona finally coming to Switch later this year, Portal and Portal 2 coming to Switch today, and we also talk about the surprising games we weren't shown during Nintendo's 25 minute June presentation.
-

Join Peer Schneider, Kat Bailey, Brian Altano, and Seth Macy, four radical post-teens, for this week's Nintendo Voice Chat as we talk Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, which is just the best possible game going right now. We also discuss the Fire Emblem leak, Persona coming to Switch (actually, not coming to Switch) and we learn about a game called Monkey Donkey, which is a rip-off of a Nintendo property from back in the days before Nintendo was able to stop such blatant copying. Seriously, it's the same game, but with gross colors.

What it does mean is plenty of exciting rumors and speculation about what Nintendo has up its sleeve for June and beyond. When will we get that next Nintendo Direct? Is there really a new Fire Emblem? It's all the schoolyard Nintendo gossip of your youth, but with 4 adults sitting in their houses across the country from one another.

This week we go over Nintendo's recently reported sales numbers and ask what everyone wants to know: Is Metroid Dread a big ol' flop? Well… 2.9 million copies sure seems like a success, but in the pantheon of Nintendo Switch tentpole releases, kind of a bummer. Join Kat Bailey, Jada Griffin, Seth Macy and special guest Imran Khan as we talk about all the Nintendos.
-
Reggie Fils-Aime's book Disrupting the Game is available everywhere and we learned some pretty cool stuff from it. On the flip side, Kat put together a report about what it's like to be a contractor working for Nintendo, and it isn't quite the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory we might have imagined. Join hosts Kat Bailey, Peer Schneider and Seth Macy for another exciting episode of NVC.
