It's that time again! A brand spanking new episode of the O3C Podcast.
This month, Chris and Jonathan check out the games of Indonesia including Rage in Peace and Coffee Talk, but not before catching one another up on a month's gaming activity including retro obsessions on the Anbernic RG35XXSP, a final verdict on Astro Bot, and big thumbs up for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Not enough?
What about a review of Eyeland for the Playdate? Or a breakdown of how modding tool Seventh Heaven ensures the original version of Final Fantasy VII remains relevant and accessible to players no matter Square's remake efforts? Or Chris boring everyone to tears talking about Tetris again?
OH BOY

Bonjour!
We’re in France. Well not really, but within the fiction of this series we’re sat at a nice Parisian café and ready to tackle a couple games from the incredible well of French development. How did Jonathan get on with The Rogue Prince of Persia? How did Chris get on with Jusant?
But naturally, that is NOT all.
There’s a big discussion on the current State of Sony as the company publicly juggles massive highs and lows that run the gamut from Astro Bot to Concord. Chris gets stuck into 2018’s Dad of War. Jonathan updates us on a swathe of mobile games that have been entertaining him as he moves house. And then there’s a load of waffle from Chris detailing why cheap retro handhelds from companies like Anbernic and Miyoo might actually be pretty great now?

Episodi mancanti?

Just a small trip this month as we hop over to our nearest neighbours in Ireland. What gaming delights does the Republic have to offer? And what of this offering will Jonathan and Chris be quaffing? (A turn based Dungeon Crawler and a tetralogy of dross PS1 racing games, of course).
PLUS, a whole bunch of semi-contemporary videogame chat, as per.
Final Fantasy XIV! Slice and Dice! Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League! Bleak Sword DX! Thank Goodness You’re Here! These are games that we’ll be talking about!

Have you noticed how these episodes are getting longer and longer? And that as of this episode we’ve only covered 18 of our 80 games? And that by this season’s end that means each monthly show could be 16 hours long?
SHEESH
Anyway, videogames!
We’re in Germany to talk guns and horses with Crysis and Windstorm, but not before lengthy coverage of DOOM, DOOM ETERNAL, ECHOES OF THE EMERGENT, SUPER MONKEY BALL: BANANA RUMBLE, APOTRIS, DEADLY PREMONITION, ELDEN RING and the STEAM CONTROLLER.

Grab your vuvuzelas, as we’re headed to South Africa to check out some VIDEOGAMES.
There’s deep dives into Terra Nil and Broforce that come courtesy of Cape Town natives Free Lives Games, but, as ever, so much more.
Has Chris really become the only human on the planet who’s managed to get Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut running on the Steam Deck?
What’s Jonathan’s favourite shell in recent indie hit Another Crab’s Treasure?
Has Chris finally beaten all of the Outer Worlds DLC, a cool 2 years late?
And what’s Jonathan’s mobile game du jour this month?

You all know what time it is, right? C’mon, check your watches, we’ll wait.
It’s a new episode of the O3C Podcast! And boy howdy is it a chunky boy.
Limber up and stretch out to extended thoughts on THE OUTER WORLDS, ANIMAL WELL, BALATRO, LOOP HERO, DRAGON SINKER and OTHERS, and then take on the main AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 GAMES event as we visit India to sample LOVELY PLANET and RAIJI: AN ANCIENT EPIC.
You won’t be disappointed. Although to be honest, even if you are, this is free, right? Unless you’re paying into the show using links at o3c.games/support in which case we’re sorry, we apologise, please don’t report us to trading standards.

After a long flight, our plane descends, loops the outstretched arms of Christ the Redeemer as we touch down in Brazil.
What treats will South America offer on our videogames tasting menu?
Chris gets stuck into indie racer Horizon Chase Turbo, and Jonathan picks through the tabletop referencing Knights of Pen and Paper.
There’s loads more though, OF COURSE.
But, rather than spoil it here, why not give this month’s globetrotting episode a listen? We PROMISE that the episode includes: videogames; jokes that may or may not be funny; and spuriously researched facts.

We’re off to Australasia to check out the videogames of New Zealand!
Jonathan staves off ichthyic madness in Dredge, and Chris revisits Shatter, a modernised take on a the brick breaker genre.
But before any of that, OF COURSE there’s a good 45 minutes of waffle about other games we’ve been playing!
Chris has a right old moan about Starfield’s bizarre design missteps. Jonathan plays through almost the entirety of The Legend of Zelda’s formative 2D past. Chris realises that ‘scoring goals, goals, goals is what he does best’ in recent indie release Sociable Soccer. Jonathan sinks 550,000 hours into game du jour Balatro.
There’s more, naturally, but you’ll have to do a bit of the work and actually listen to the fruits of our mouths and brains to find it.
Is that alright? Yeah? GOOD.

POLAND!
There are so many great titles produced in Poland: Cyberpunk 2077, This War of Mine, Dead Island, Outrunners; the list goes on. which is OF COURSE why Chris spent a chunk of the month playing Teyon’s execrable Rambo: The Game. Jonathan tries a little harder with his homework, smashing through One More Level’s sublime Ghostrunner 2.
Also! Thoughts on modern games like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Palworld, and Playdate treat Under the Castle as well as thoughts on old games like Rez (zzz), Lumines (double zzz) and Screaming Mad George’s Paranoiascape (!!!).

Welkom allemaal!
We’re back on our globe trotting adventure, exploring the games of the Netherlands with special focus on Guerrilla Games’ Horizon series, and Rusty Lake’s… well, Rusty Lake series.
Plus - because we’re good to you lot - Jonathan’s here to tell you all about his recent romp through Dark Souls 3 on the Steam Deck as well as Vampire Survivors copycat Halls of Torment, and Chris has some long tedious updates about his emulation setup. He’s been playing some old tosh via Wii emulation apparently?
GAMES, GAMES, and would you Adam and Eve it, MORE BLEEDIN’ GAMES.

2023 may well be DEAD and BURIED, but what of its gaming legacy?
Join ol’ Jonathan and Chris for their thoughts on the year that was.
How many games did the boys finish between them over the last 12 months? What were the best games of 2023? What were the best games not of 2023 that we played in 2023 for the first time? How’s the Playdate ecosystem getting on? What’s on the gaming docket for 2024?
A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

As the plane wheels touch down at CPH, season 6 starts proper. Around the World in 80 Games starts in earnest, TODAY. It’s got a bleedin’ jingle and everything!
There’s Danish facts, Danish games, and Danish jokes. But also, in depth looks at Hitman: World of Assassination (as well as the franchise as a whole) as well as the brand spanking new puzzler from former-Playdead lead Jeppe Carlsen: Cocoon!Of course, we also update on what we’ve been playing in the last month with thoughts a selection of games including: Windowsill, a Playdate grab bag, Lies of P, and the sometimes nauseatingly bright and colourful (but in a good way) Super Mario Bros Wonder.

Jonathan and Kaspar are back for Part 3 of an originally planned two-part spoiler episode. This time we managed to get through half of our planned discussion, which is only fitting when you are talking about a game where you set off to do one thing and 10 hours later you still haven’t done that one thing, but you’ve done a million other things, and they were all extremely fun! So come join us in the meandering delight that is Tears of the Kingdom!
In part 3:
- We discuss all of Link’s new world-bending, and mind-blowing abilities! We share our favourite use for each one, and no, it’s not just messing with the Koroks!! Well… not just that!
- We talk about the shrines, shrine-quests, how they changed from Breath of the Wild; and which ones were stand-outs for Jonathan and Kaspar.

Once more into the breach!
Jonathan and Chris lay down their thoughts on 7 or so games they’ve played recently:The shared-world twofer of Aeterna Noctis and Summum Aeterna; a bunch of Vampire Survivors clones; Super Mario Land 2’s gorgeous DX rom hack; the breezy knockabout that is TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge; LaserCat (?); and the calmingly bucolic Farm Together. And… AND… make sure you listen in to find out our intended format for Season 6 proper, kicking off in just a few short weeks!

Are you still knee-deep into Tears of the Kingdom and perhaps crafting that perfect Hoverbike, hunting those nefarious Bubbulfrogs, or diving to grab a Korok seed instead of destroying Ganondorf and finding the princess?
Then you might want to stay clear of this episode for now, because we are talking about EVERYTHING! Consider yourself warned, this is the spoileriest of spoiler episodes.
In part 1:
- We talk about the first Zelda game we played and why we love the series.
- Find out which one of us tackled the geoglyph memories out of order and which one did it chronologically.
- Find out where we think TotK falls on the Zelda Timeline (nah, not really, who cares?)
- Hear us explore the story beat by beat and share why we think the narrative in this game is so much more compelling than in Breath of the Wild.
- Hear us talk about what we think is the single greatest moment in video game history. (hint: It’s vertiginous!)We originally planned on talking about many more things in episode 1, but it turns out we love this game so much and praising every aspect takes a lot of time, so please come join us for the next ones, where we will be talking about Side-Adventures, Side-Quests, Shrines, Temples, Purah, Sidon, Thirst Traps and everything in between!

We’re back!
Kind of!
In this pre-season, episode zero kind of dealio, we lay out a few changes that will be part of the upcoming season 6, and try to be as honest as we can about why we’ve had to rock the boat a little in order to keep the ol’ girl sailing.
Please, please, please, join us in the now public Discord, and sign up for the continuing newsletter by visiting o3c.games.
