For podcasters that offer a premium option (so, where you can get stuff like exclusive content, early access to episodes, bonus content, etc), one of the things that can be a problem is what to call it.
Do you call it Memberships? Do you call it Premium Listeners or Premium Members? Do you call it Premium Subscribers, or even just subscribers? Let's take a look.

While social media can help from a word of mouth perspective, and I've seen some podcasters have great success with it, I find it generally isn't very effective at growth for your podcast.
It’s great for building a community around you and your show, but harder to actually drive listens. So, instead, here are three options I've found more effective.

A question I see asked a lot is whether you should use transcripts for your podcast, and if they're worth it because it just adds more to the production of an episode.
Here are two very simple reasons why you should, as well as a couple of options - free and paid - to add transcripts to your podcast.

When it comes to sponsors and advertisers, a lot of podcasters just share their download numbers.
And, while downloads can give information about your show, it's probably only a fraction of what you can share. And this can cost you when it comes to how much you get paid by those sponsors.

Now, thanks to an awesome new feature on Spotify for Podcasters - the podcaster dashboard for any podcasters that host elsewhere - you can easily add video versions of your audio podcast too.

Take a look online, whether on Twitter, Facebook groups, Reddit, etc, and you’ll frequently come across questions about starting a podcast. From there, many answers share equipment to buy, hosts to use, etc.
All well, all good. But what you don’t often see is what you shouldn’t do, and why, based on personal experience and lessons learned.
So, while this is in no way an exhaustive list of do’s and don’ts - after all, it’s all subjective to individual needs - here are three lessons I wish I’d known when I started podcasting seriously back in 2016.

If you listen to the outro of this podcast, you'll hear that I mention it by name, with the call to action being, "If you enjoy One Minute Podcast Tips, be sure to share with your friends." This is instead of saying "If you enjoy this podcast, be sure to share with your friends"
It's the same when I talk about the show online - I use the full name as opposed to "My podcast".
And there's a simple reason for this - branding and recall.
