It’s been said that “He who has the gold, makes the rules.” That never applied more to the United States than after WWII. At that time, Ft. Knox stored around 75% of the world’s gold, the U.S. was a manufacturing powerhouse, and was a creditor nation! But alas, the United States would go down the fateful road of war & empire. Today, manufacturing is gone, America waved goodbye to being a creditor nation and became the most indebted nation in history — and now President Trump needs to check if the gold is still there at Ft. Knox.

President Trump likes to keep everyone on their toes. He has repeatedly proven to say things that (in the end) were perhaps never meant to be taken seriously in the first place. Sometimes the president's statements contain terrible ideas, like the U.S. owning Gaza. But at other times, his statements are pretty incredible, like the U.S. cutting military spending by 50% if Russia and China agree to do the same. Today on the Liberty Report, we cover the latter statement, which would be a huge positive for our nation, were it ever to come to pass.

DOGE is ripping through the federal government like a tornado. This morning it has been reporting that DOGE sent out firing notices to 9,400 USAID employees, leaving only 611. Democratic politicians are furious, of course. But we hope, that when it’s all said and done, ALL politicians, Democrat AND Republican, are furious with DOGE. President Trump made it clear during his presidential campaign that tariffs will be a part of his policy-making. He has followed through on that. Tariffs are risky. Yes, they can be used as a political tool, and can get results. But tariffs can also turn very bad, especially when egos are revved up. American history is littered with the use of tariffs going very bad. President Trump, and the American people, should always keep this in mind.
