This week, we're so happy to welcome Kayla Craig, author of Every Season Sacred and the voice of the Instagram account, Liturgies for Parents, to the podcast!
Kayla and Clayton are covering a topic that they're both passionate about, as parents themselvesâhow to bring the sacred into the every day moments and seasons of life.
Join us, and find a new way to engage with God and your family in whatever season you're in right now!
Top 5 Ways to Bring the Sacred into Every Day
Change your habits each season. Create a "rule of life" each season to help your family stay on track and stay focused, while adjusting to the rhythms and needs of the season. Don't force the things that don't fit. Ask open-ended questions. Stay away from "yes" or "no" answers, to keep conversation flowing. Consider service and hospitality as spiritual. Don't overlook the ways you are already engaging. Start simply paying attention in those things and shifting your focus to the spiritual. Utilize breath prayers. Prayer doesn't have to be long to be meaningful! Take a breath, pray often, and you'll find those moments culminate in a day, week, and season more engaged with God in prayer. Play more. Consider this activity as a spiritual practice, too! Playing with your kids is likely the gateway to vulnerability and humility that parents need most. -

We've avoided it for too long. (Just kidding!) It's time to talk about prayer. We promiseâeven though there are so many ways to pray and it feels so difficult to "get it right", it's possible that prayer is a spiritual practice that's easier than you think.
Join Chris, Clayton, and Amy on the podcast for an encouraging conversation that we think will be practically helpful for your personal walk, and your family's growth.

May is full of all sorts of transitions and ways to engage with God and one another. We can't wait to dive into all of it in our next Habits and Holidays episode. BUT before we do, we're taking a moment for the teachers.
Because here's the thing. You saw the title of this episode. And you groaned. Even if only internally. We know, because we did it too. And here's the thing: We LOVE teachers. We want to appreciate them! So why is it such a sticky thing?
We decided to sit down, chat it out, and brainstorm some ideas to make it betterâfor your family, and most importantly, for all the teachers out there.

Clayton, Chris, and Amy are back with another area of spiritual discipline that's actually easier to put into practice than you might thinkâHospitality!
(It also might be the most delicious of all the spiritual practices. And therefore, our favorite.)
We're diving into all the awkward experiences we've learned from and letting go of expectations together so that, step by step, we can continue to grow in this practice.
Pull up a chair and join us! We're so glad you're here.

It's time to talk about it. Probably the biggest spiritual practice, the most "basic", and yet one that's still so difficult... Bible Reading.
We get it. It's not that you don't want to read the Bible. It's just sometimes hard to do...or at least feel like you're doing it right.
When it comes to reading the Bible, we all have expectations we need to let go of and experiences to learn from. Clayton, Chris, and Amy are laying theirs out on the podcast today and not holding anything back.
We're keeping it real, keeping it honest, and encouraging one another to try something new, and try, try again. We hope it encourages you, too.
