Hour 1
Jerry and CLo are here today and we had breaking news overnight with Sean Manaea and the Mets agreeing to a new three-year contract. Jerry and CLo both expect Pete Alonso to end up back with the Mets as well. It is a football Monday and Jerry begins with the Giants mess. They don’t have a QB, are in position for the number one overall pick and are losing badly. Jerry points out that Joe Schoen’s first two first-round picks have been big misses. Overall, Jerry is tired of only blaming GMs and coaches when players get paid to perform. Jerry and CLo agree that a rookie QB taken first overall will bring some energy into the building but they’ll have to start winning to keep it up. Pat Boyle is here for his first update of the day and begins with Drew Lock’s first pick-6 in the Giants’ loss to the Falcons. Brian Daboll said “not good enough” many times after the game. Jerry and CLo think he looks like a beaten man. In the final segment of the hour, callers explain why they want the Giants to clean house. Anya in Maryland loves Jerry, CLo and Willie Colon so it’s a good week for her.
Hour 2
Jerry is more open to the Jets bringing Aaron Rodgers back next year than CLo is. CLo doesn’t believe Rodgers is well-liked by teammates. Pat returns for an update and tries to tell the guys about the lyrics of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” before being told everyone knows. The Commanders came from behind to beat the Eagles and clinch a playoff spot. Jalen Hurts left the game with a concussion. Sam Darnold was excellent again in another Vikings win. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry and CLo agree that no matter what the Giants decide, it’s fair to say Joe Schoen has not done a good job through his first three years.
Hour 3
CLo wants to know how Jerry and others are sure the objects they are seeing in the sky are drones and not planes. Jerry asks CLo how many wins the Chiefs would have without Patrick Mahomes. The guys discuss Mahomes as an example of getting a great QB without having the first pick. Jerry and CLo ponder the value of a QB vs the importance of having a good team around them. Pat returns for an update but first, he did Jerry’s assignment and watched a comedian compare the lyrics of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” to “WAP”. The Raiders blew their tank so the Giants now have the inside track for the number one pick. Garrett Wilson sounded frustrated about not getting enough targets early in the game. Jerry points out that the Jets offense was humming in the first half and that Garrett Wilson should not worry about targets on successful drives. In the final segment of the hour, the guys remember Rickey Henderson. Then, they discuss Charlie Woods’, son of Tiger, hole-in-one and similarities to his father.
Hour 4
Jerry’s “best friend of all-time at WFAN” calls in to the show. He’s also known as Bob Wischusen, the radio voice of the Jets for 23 years. Jerry wants to know what this Jets team is. Bob says a team with enough talent to pique the interest of Bill Belichick. He says they are frustrating and have the talent to win more games than they have. Bob has not sensed or heard about any friction in the locker room between Aaron Rodgers and his teammates. Bob, who calls college football games, explains the difference he sees between the games and why NFL teams need to be more patient before playing their young QBs. Pat returns for his final update of the show and begins with the football losses before playing audio from another Rangers loss. Jerry wondered about how arenas transition from ice to hardwood and vice-versa. Thankfully, Zoo used to do that at the Garden so he explains the process. The Moment of The Day: Pat Boyle just learned the lyrics of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” are creepy. In the final segment of the day, Jerry asks CLo if he’s finished his Christmas shopping and if there were any big gifts his kids wanted this year. -
