The NEFA Coaches Corner Monthly Webinar. Series 2 Episode 6 (Part 2) June 2022
Steve is an author as well as being a mindset and leadership mentor who has helped thousands of people through guest lectures, seminars, and individual support. Some of his roles include working with the England U15 national squad, supporting 20 Premier League players with mental conditioning support and delivering on the UEFA Pro and A licences for the Scottish Football Association.
His book educating football received international press coverage and acclaim that led to Steve being a guest on the ‘High Performance Podcast’, BBC Radio 5 Live, Talk Sport, The Daily Mail podcast, and Love Sport Radio. Steve has also featured on a Netflix documentary which entailed supporting world class athletes in need of cognitive and technical performance support.
On this NEFA Coaches Corner we will explore section three of the excellent Educating Football book named ‘Coaching Champions’.

The NEFA Coaches Corner Monthly Webinar. Series 2 Episode 5 (Part 2) May 2022
We are delighted to be welcome one of the most respected Sporting Directors in World Football for May's Coaches Corner; the role of the Sporting Director with special guest, Steve Walsh.
Steve's career includes senior recruitment roles at Chelsea and Newcastle prior to moving to Leicester as Head of Recruitment / Assistant Manager that of course led to some incredible signings (incl Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez) and a Premier League winners medal. Steve moved to Everton in 2016 as Sporting Director before leaving Goodison in 2018.
Steve was appointed as Special Advisor to new MLS expansion team, Charlotte FC in early 2020 and has helped the club recruit an entire squad (or roster) from scratch for their debut MLS season in 2022.
We'll be delving into both Steve's experience of what a Sporting Director actually is, how to develop as a scout and/or Recruitment professional as well looking at the future of player recruitment. This is a fantastic opportunity for those working across all disciplines of the game - all delivered in the usual interactive NEFA Coaches Corner fashion.

Our guest for the March Coaches Corner is Gerard Jones. Gerard is an UEFA A Licence Coach who has worked in a variety of roles in football as a practitioner and coach developer.
His career has seen him work as Head of Coaching at Bristol Rovers, Assistant Under 21 Coach at Bradford City and Academy Coach at Rochdale. The NEFA Coaches Corner Monthly Webinar. Series 2 Episode 2 (Part 2) February 2022
Our guest for the February Coaches Corner was Mark Sampson. Mark was the Head of the Swansea City Centre of Excellence, before becoming Manager of Taff’s Wells then moving to FA Women’s Premier League Club Bristol Academy, where he led the club to a runners-up place in 2013 and two F.A Cup Finals in 2010-11 and 2012-13.
His next role was as Manager of the England Women’s National Team where he spent four years and led them to their highest ever placing at a World Cup, finishing third. Mark then secured a post in the men’s game at Stevenage as First Team Coach and was an integral part of the team ensuring survival in League Two.
He recently moved on from the club to focus on new projects. Mark is an UEFA Pro Licence holder and recognised within the football industry as a talented and forward-thinking coach.

Our guest for the NEFA Coaches Corner in January is Alex Weaver who is the Under 18 Coach at FC Lausanne Sport in Switzerland.
After a career in youth football, he began his coaching career at 17 years of age. Alex worked for Manchester United soccer schools in the USA, France, Dubai, South Africa and India whilst completing his UEFA A licence and BSc Coaching Science degree.

Our guest for the NEFA Coaches Corner in January is Alex Weaver who is the Under 18 Coach at FC Lausanne Sport in Switzerland.

We were delighted to be joined by Dan Micciche for our final NEFA Coaches Corner of the year. Dan has had a stellar coaching career working for MK Dons as Assistant Academy Manager, Head Coach for the U15/16’s, Head of Coaching and heading up the first team.
He then spent over 4 years working for England as the National Technical Lead (U12-16s) and was Head coach for the U15/16’s. His next move was to Arsenal where he is the Under 18’s Head Coach. Dan is a vastly knowledgeable and experienced player developer, and we are looking forward to another insightful Coaches Corner.
