In this episode, Chris Chandler-Yates shared with me his personal experience as a police officer and how that rebuilt his life after a career of trauma. Being a former police officer has really influenced him a lot into doing what he does now. Chris joined the NZ Police in 2011 and after a seven-year career, he experienced severe burnout that caused him to leave the job he once loved.
What is the life of being a police officer Root causes of trauma responses The importance of knowing āwhyā you do what you do How to deal with burnout and trauma by the importance of self-care
After a journey of self-care, recovery, and personal development, he's now hyper passionate about helping officers take charge of their mental health and significantly reduce the chance of burnout. He lives to ensure others learn to see themselves so they don't go through the pain he once experienced.
Chris speaks very vulnerably and openly about the personal challenges he faced from burnout, such as almost breaking his marital vows, as well as some of the tough cases that led him there, and the impact they still have on him today, such as losing his sense of smell after one particular case. Chris is incredibly real, and I know heās not the only officer who has struggled to this degreeā¦but he is one of the few who are courageous enough to speak about it in a public forum.

In this episode, Matt Archer joins me to discuss "The critical blindspots of modern healthcareā. He takes a skeptical approach to manual muscle testing, applied kinesiology, and chiropractic and developed an incredibly effective system, described in his book, āThe Protocol for Health: Seven Unexpected Solutionsā.
How zinc deficiency and weak stomach acid is the greatest cause of disease. How adrenal fatigue is surprisingly easy to address but intermittent fasting makes it worse. How vitamin and mineral deficiencies are universal and drive many specific symptoms and are a major blindspot in modern healthcare and laboratory testing.
While often contrary to popular ideas, The Protocol has a sensible foundation that simplifies healthcare and is effective with the full spectrum of symptoms. He practices in Northern California and consults remotely.
I really enjoyed my interview with Matt! He struck me as very compassionate, with a deep understanding of some physical causes to chronic pain that lay within the gut microbiome. His experience has led him to be quite steadfast and confident in his beliefs, and this new system heās developed to help people feel better in a relatively short period of time.
