As a mom of five, Katherine has personally experienced inductions, cesareans, medicated labors, and unmedicated labors. These experiences sparked a passion to support mothers through their pregnancy and birthing journey.
Katherine talks on the podcast about birth after previous C-section -- whether that's a repeat cesarean or a vaginal birth after cesarean. Either way, the goal is for you to birth in your own power, and that you make the choice that's the best for yourself and your baby.

This week, Sarah dives in to the topic of autonomy during loss and pregnancy after loss, with a really special guest.
Kyleigh became a doula in 2019 after leaving her soul-sucking āreal jobā with no plan. She prepared for her birth in a very unconventional way ā prioritizing mindset and autonomy over following the status quo. Spoiler alert: the first words out of her mouth after giving birth were, āThat wasnāt as hard as it looked!ā
Since blissfully giving birth to her daughter at home in February of 2020, Kyleigh has helped over 1,400+ women achieve their dream birth... No, not a birth where āeverything goes perfectly,ā... but a birth where the mom is completely in charge and drips in confidence as the sole decision-maker for her birth experience.
Kyleigh has crowned herself the shameless slayer of bullsh*t and coercion within the pregnancy and birth community... and thereās no doubt that her IG community of 28,000 women would agree!
After impacting thousands of lives and growing a successful birth-focused business, Kyleigh fell in love with helping other birth nerds (doulas, midwives, birth coaches, childbirth educators, etc.) turn their passion for birth into a successful career. She launched the Birthworker Podcast in July of 2022 ā debuting at #17 in the category āUSA: Business: Careersā and has maintained a top 200 rating ever since!
As the founder of Birthworker.com, Kyleigh is committed to providing doulas worldwide with the resources and support they need to change the global birth community, ditch their 9-5, stay home with their kids, and start living life on their own terms.
Kyleigh is best known for two things ā questioning the status quo when it comes to anything related to birth... and helping change the global birth narrative by re-centering the mom as the sole authority of her birth experience.
When Kyleigh isnāt helping birth nerds go all-in on their doula business, sheās traveling across the world with her family, binging birth podcasts (duh!), or... letās be honest... scrolling mindlessly on TikTok LOL!
Kyleigh can be found on Instagram at @birthworkerpodcast or on her podcast, The Birth Worker Podcast__________________________________

In todayās episode, Sarah dives into the often overwhelming first trimester of pregnancy after loss, focusing on the timing of your initial appointments. Many moms, after seeing that positive test, feel the urge to rush in for an early scan or labs. But could waiting be the better option?
Sarah shares a personal story about her first ultrasound with her rainbow baby when things didnāt go as expected. In her case, the doctors couldnāt find a heartbeat, and the baby was measuring small. While it was a scary moment, she knew her cycle well enough to know sheād ovulated late. Waiting gave her more clarity and less stress.
Throughout the episode, Sarah outlines five reasons why waiting for your first appointment could actually be a good decision for both you and your baby. From reducing early ultrasound anxiety to ensuring your body has enough time to show clear progress, she offers heartfelt advice for moms navigating the delicate early stages of pregnancy after loss.
