We often want to push ahead when it comes to training. I have taught the foundational steps for place only to have a client want to offer to test the dogs abilities by calling their neighbor to ring the door bell. Or we teach a dog to walk on a loose-leash in the house. The next day we receive a call from a frustrated client complaining that their dog did poorly walking at a street fair.
It is important that clients and trainers understand that less is more. In this podcast we discuss the importance of ending training on a positive note and not working until a dog is confused and frustrated.
