Since the early 80’s Mike Woitalla has been writing articles for all of our favorite soccer magazine… Soccer America. Before 24/7 coverage of the EPL, of LaLiga, of MLS, and 30 college games a night on everywhere, there was a magazine that brought most of us our soccer fix until the rare US Men’s National Team game was occasionally broadcast. Mike talks about the publications path and provides a level of insight second to none thanks to his front row seat to US soccer, polished by his keyboard!Let’s go…

On this episode of Soccer Mom Sunday, host Jen Siess talked with budding soccer coach, Casey Beran. A former St. Louis soccer player herself, Casey grew up in The Beautiful Game, but didn’t really find that sense of “soccer family” on the club side with changing rosters, switching clubs, and/or rotating coaches. In high school at Incarnate Word, she DID find that soccer family, but burnt out on the game with lack of playing time and little explanation as to why or how. Casey finally found her sweet spot in club and intramural soccer in college at Missouri State University. Now, armed with degrees in education along with athletic administration, Casey spends time on the pitch with young girls, hoping to instill that family feeling for them, along with reaching for success!
