Tommy G Talks - Episode 149: TAKE Your Opportunities & NEVER Give Up - Advice To Teenagers (Recorded Live)
This episode is a recording of a live talk I delivered in front of 200x 15-17 year olds.
I was asked to go in and deliver this talk to 5 different age groups at a local secondary school, as part of their careers day.
It's always an honour to deliver talks like this, and I hope that you can take at least 1 thing away from this very honest and open presentation around taking opportunities, saying YES, challenging yourself and then being resilient enough to keep the journey alive.
Don't give up on your dreams.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 147: [TEA WITH TOMMY G SERIES EP3] w Perry Cocking:
Football Coach: Don't Ruin The Parent/Child Relationship! (Ways to support your sporty child)
I've known Perry for just over 15 years. We played football together, we've worked on a few projects together and I have seen his Coaching business and journey evolve to the stage of being one of the most influencial, leading voices in the Youth Football coaching space!
In this episode, we dive deeper into some of the challenges, and hidden problems that can arise by "trying to do the right thing" by supporting your sporty children...But creating the opposite. A negative emotional experience and potentially damaging your relationships.
If you've got a sporty child or you're a youth coach yourself, this is the conversation for you.
As always, let me know your thoughts.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 146: [TEA WITH TOMMY G SERIES EP2] w Kate Griffin - Wessex Spirits & The Gin Palace.
Episode 2 of Tea with Tommy G brings you a very open and honest conversation with Kate Griffin, the Founder of Wessex Spirits and The Gin Palace in Andover.
I have been getting to know Kate and her fantastic business well over the last few months. We at Tide 55 have been working with her and her team to help grow online bottle sales and local footfall into the amazing venue that is The Gin Palace.
I wanted to share her story with you. But not just the story she tells everyone that comes in for a drink. I wanted to dig a little deeper into the WHY and the HOW she came to be where she is now.
So in this episode, you will hear how Kate went from being a Teacher, to throwing out her teaching books, having no "job", with 2 young children to look after, and an idea to start making her own gin.
Local business is really important and I hope that this helps bring the awareness up for the people and the businesses that are out there flying the flag for Andover, our local community. (as well as the wider economy)
You can see more from Wessex Spirits and book a gin tasting session or drop in for a drink at the Gin Palace here:

Tommy G Talks - Episode 145: [TEA WITH TOMMY G SERIES EP1] w Harri Pereira - Mindset X
It's time to step it up a bit.
I've had a podcast for a few years now, but I feel we need to take it up a notch.
I have launched on a project that I have wanted to do for a few years now.
Introducing: Tea with Tommy G - My new and improved way of bringing you guest interviews that consist of real talk, real challenges and real confidence.
We talk about life, death and all the ups and downs along this amazing journey.
In this very first episode, I connect with a man that shares a lot of parrallels and similarities to me.
Not just in terms of interests and career path, but also in terms of things that have happened in our lives that we would much rather didn't.
I am all about transforming "challenge into confidence" and with Harri, he has (and continues) to do just that. I wanted to do an episode on "seasonal grief" the pain that we feel when we are reminded, or we miss someone that has passed away.
I knew that Harri would be able to help me get to the levels of conversation that this topic deserves.
I really do hope you enjoy this chat. In honour of you and to those that are no longer with us.
Remember to tag us both when you answer his question to you at the end!

Tommy G Talks - Episode 144: Do Kids Need To Feel Failure? (The Importance of Youth Participation in Sport)
“Kids need to learn how to lose…and sport gives them that lesson.”
As Chairman of The Jamie G Sporting Trust, I am always championing the importance of participation in sport for young people under the age of 18.
Sport can expose us to and teach us so much at an early age.
I believe that it is essential for children to understand that they don't always win.
It’s beneficial to a young person to know that they can and will fail. That things won’t always go to plan.
Within the safe frameworks of sport, this allows for resilience to be built and the ability to look inside.
To notice how they feel about certain outcomes when they don't go they hoped/intended, and then what steps/actions/practice needs to be done in order to improve.
To learn that we can only ever control and account for our own efforts.
Because it’s actually not about winning and losing as such…it’s more about self improvement, skill progression, expression, teamwork, dealing with pressure and building discipline. To feel good about it. To enjoy the experience, and to develop self belief.
A valuable lesson indeed.
We also have the more obvious benefits such as the physical and mental health advantages and the social relationships and skill development too.
Participantion is on the decline. We must recognise the value and increase our effort and energy to ensure these lessons are being learned through schools, clubs and organisations.
By creating safe spaces for self expression, not hinging everything on the W/L outcome, but instead the lessons learned from “the taking part”.
As adults, parents, coaches…what can we do to improve? How can we set a better example?
How can we help to facilitate more positive exposure to sport at a young age?

Tommy G Talks - Episode 143: How To Stop Overthinking
Let's talk about OVERTHINKING.
We all struggle with this. Some more than others, but when we do, it often leads to negativity and in some cases depression.
Today we will explore the topic a little and then look at ways to understand, control and overcome otherthinking.
These methods are not your usual "think positive" and "talk about your feelings" type tips.
Although that stuff comes from a good place, we need to dive a little deeper into the way we think and talk to ourselves.
These are some strategies and tips I have picked up along the way.
I hope it helps.

Are we too easily led?

What will happen if we just keep going the way we are?
What will it mean for our children?
Well, like it or not, you and I are at the wheel. What we do and how we USE this tool will determine what happens next.
I have 7 suggestions on how we can use it and shape it more positively. It won't be easy, but we can do it.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 138: What is it REALLY like to be a Life Coach?
Now that I have been "retired" from Coaching for 3 years, I thought I would finally dive into and share what it's like to be a Life Coach.

I don't do it anymore. And I reveal why I stopped in this episode.
I also share 5 things that I learned through my years as a Life Coach.

Tommy G Talks Episode 136: Everything Changes! - What Happened To Tommy G?
First of all I am still here...
Second of all, thank you for being here too.
I have always believed that this podcast should run parallel to my life.
A lot has changed since the days of the Super Self Summit and Being a Health & Fitness Professional.
Yet there are some very distinct similarities between my old career and what I do now (Run a Digital Marketing Agency)
In this episode I touch base with you after many months of silence, and I share 3 things that are similar PLUS 3 things that I have really found difficult in transitioning from the gym floor to a desk job.
As always, I hope that you can lift some positive energy form listening, and I welcome your interaction.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 135: Why is SLOW success always best?
Contrary to popular belief, it's OK to make small, slow but steady progress!
Because slow success is real success.
It doesn't happen overnight. For anyone.
Do not let anyone inform you otherwise. They are likely misleading you for their own gain.
This episode is a reminder of the 3 main areas of life that we are constantly managing and navigating.
If we have fires in 1 or more of the 3 areas, we will struggle to make any progress. That's reality.
It's tough and we get challenged.
Which is why we must be realistic and show the courage required to make progress. Steady progress.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 134: Are we addicted to our phones? (5 Things Learned From NO PHONES ALLOWED Secret Cinema!)
Last night I went to "Secret Cinema" and as part of the experience, they take your phone away from you, lock it in a bag and then give the locked bag back to you...But you can't open it, touch or use your phone.
At first, I had a mild panic, but eventually, I started to realise some really cool things.
5 of which I share in this episode.

Tommy G Talks - Episode 133: Interview With Brad Burton - The UK's Number 1 Motivational Business Speaker
Brad Burton.
If you know of him, you'll know what I mean when I say he "packs a punch."
If you don't know who he is, buckle up and get ready...
I wanted this episode to happen for quite some time. In fact, I promised myself that I would only kickstart my podcast again once I had a guest that was worthy of the "come back" for.
Brad is that guy.
He's been at the top of the motivational speaking scene in the UK for years now.
Not everyone likes to admit that though, because he has done it HIS WAY.
He doesn't play to the same tune as a lot of the other guys and girls on the scene. Myself included.
He doesn't rely on "who you know" or circles of "experts" that you'll regularly see on your social media feed. Some of which I have crossed paths with in the past.
Brad is honest and raw and holds no apologies for his unique style.
I hope you enjoy this conversation between 2 guys that probably weren't too keen on each other at first, but have a mutual respect, understanding and likeness to each other and are both Warriors in the same war.
If you enjoy this episode, please let me and Brad know via my social media pages below

Tommy G Talks - Episode 132: Is it the taking part that counts? Really?
It's been a while...But let's get stuck in.
We have all heard the saying "it's the taking part that counts."
But what does that actually mean? and is it really a cop out or a sympathy vote for someone that didn't win?
Let's dive into it a bit today.
Sport has done wonders for me in my life. i have learned so much from "the taking part" when I have won and when I have lost.
Because the thing is, without the taking part, neither are possible and all growth is off.
I hope you enjoy this episode. It references a speech I gave recently at a local secondary school. I was asked to give an "inspirational speech" for their end of year sports awards, and this is the theme I went with.
