  • On this episode of This Is Woman’s Work, we talk about how to build an intentional workplace culture that powers strategy and drives growth, and how to be a leader in that culture transformation.

Buckle up friend, because this topic is a big and powerful one.

I’ve invited Dr. Jessica Kriegel, Chief Scientist of Workplace Culture for Culture Partners, where they do research and strategy in best practices for driving results through culture, to be our guest. For over 15 years, Jessica has been guiding global, national, Fortune 100, and other organizations across finance, technology, real estate, and healthcare industries on the path to creating intentional cultures that accelerate performance. As a keynote speaker, Jessica leverages her current research and experience in global organizational culture innovation, providing leaders with the map and tools for how to build cultures that deliver results.

I believe that now more than ever, people and cultures are craving leadership. They’re craving a feeling of belonging and connectedness, of acceptance and of growth, of challenge and celebration.

Who better to give it to them than you?

  • I wonder how many of us think of or unconsciously visualize gender when we think of leadership. Truly, how many of us are thinking of women when we’re asked about great leaders?

Let’s face it, conventional leadership models and expectations have been and are currently based mostly on men
their attributes, their styles, and their psychology.

I believe the time has come where we value masculine, feminine, and everything in between in our leaders– that we admire autonomy and collaboration, independence and connection, directness and thoughtfulness.

Here to advocate for the future of leadership is Dr. Stacy Feiner, an accomplished psychologist, business leader, innovator, author, and mom who advises private- and family- owned businesses with a pro-growth, pro-health approach that ensures leaders solve emotionally charged situations, move forward, and increase enterprise value & family connection. Stacy co-authored the recent bestselling book, The Sixth Level: Capitalize on the Power of Women’s Psychology for Sustainable Leadership, which is also being used in universities, businesses, and local governments and is here today to talk to us about what we can learn from women about leadership.

Women have been leading for a long time, in many ways that work. The answer isn’t to replace men with women, but rather to have all genders learn from women, as we have from men. Because leadership is not confined to a single archetype - it's dynamic and multifaceted.

  • Friend, I’m going to ask you to consider how much airtime you’re giving the bad guys in your own mind – the critic, the judge, the naysayer, the doubter, the perfectionist, the impostor, worrier, cynic, and the procrastinator – all the voices in your head that don’t actually belong to you.

They’re wreaking havoc on all of our lives, and I want all of us to have the tools to overcome them.

So I invited Thais Gibson, counselor, best selling author of Learning Love, and co-founder of The Personal School, to join us today. She has a Ph.D., over 13 certifications in a variety of different modalities, and ran a successful private practice before building The Personal Development School, an online learning platform, to provide a more accessible, authentic way for clients to transform their lives. A leading expert in attachment theory, her cutting-edge research is extending the frontier of psychology. She’s on a mission to empower individuals to overcome their insecure attachment styles and reprogram any limiting thoughts and behaviors, creating long-lasting and enlightening changes.

Think for just a minute, what would be possible for you in your life, for us as women, if we created, did the work, allowed ourselves to give more airtime to our inner knowing, our confidence, our opportunity, our gifts? What if the voices that were the loudest in your mind were the ones telling you you can, you got this, that you matter.

  • Is it really possible to change the subconscious mind? I think the answer is yes, but it seems much easier with the small things and much harder with the big things that have really hurt us. Said another way, changing something is one thing – HEALING it is another.

So today, we’re going to talk about how to do just that.

Stephanie Kwong is our guest, an old friend of mine, and a transformative force as Co-Founder of the Rapid Rewire Method. Stephanie is passionate about the groundbreaking Rapid Rewire Method tools, capable of swiftly dissolving emotional turmoil, limiting beliefs, disserving identities, and even trauma. Her mission is clear: to empower others with learning these tools to cultivate joy, inner peace, fulfillment, and true liberation – and she believes it doesn’t need to be so hard or take so long. Through her proven approach, clients achieve personal, professional, and financial success, demonstrating that the shift from limitation to power is not only possible but can be fast, painless, and sustainable.

The only way to heal your wounds is to decide to. I know it’s not that simple, but that’s the place to start
then find and accept support.

  • Easing the mental load, minimizing the to-do list, letting go of the things that don’t really matter is a constant work in progress for me – but when I’m in the throes of it all, I often think “there’s got to be a better way”.

I’ve invited Sam Bennett, creativity/productivity specialist to join us to share her 15 minute method with all of us. Sam is the author of the bestselling book Get It Done as well as Start Right Where You Are: How Little Changes Can Make a Big Difference for Overwhelmed Procrastinators, Frustrated Overachievers, and Recovering Perfectionists. Her latest book just released in June and is called The 15-Minute Method: The Surprisingly Simple Art of Getting It Done. Having spent most of her life working as a professional actor and improvisor, Sam brings a quick wit to her writing and her work as a top instructor on LinkedIn Learning with over a million “learners” worldwide.

It will all get narrowed down to those very few things that matter most at the end, so what are we waiting for? Someone else to decide what truly matters for us? A point in time where things all of a sudden get easy and simple?

No, we get to decide. And like so many things worth doing, we start small, one step at a time, 15 minutes devoted to what matters most to you.

  • One of my favorite quotes that sits on my desk says “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

So how do we do that?

Here today to teach us how to forge our own path is Katie Horwitch. Katie has spent almost two decades studying the conversations we have about ourselves, and the implications of them out in the world. She speaks about self-confidence and shifting the stories that help shape our negative self-talk patterns, is the host of the WANTcast: where the word WANT stands for Women Against Negative Talk, a mindset coach, and author of Want Your Self: Shift Your Self- Talk and Unearth The Strength In Who You Were All Along. Katie is a living example of all that we can do when we decide to forge our own path.

At the end of the day, you’re the only one who gets to walk and choose YOUR path. And comparing your journey to someone else’s makes no sense, because they’re not on your path and you’re not on theirs.

So I’ll leave you with another quote I love - “Run your own race at your own pace”.

  • On this episode of TIWW, we’re going to talk not just about understanding masculine and feminine energetics, but unifying them. Within ourselves first, and then in our relationships.

Our guest, DenĂ© Logan is a Marriage and Family Therapist with an orientation in Depth Psychology (often referred to as ‘The Psychology of the Soul’), co-host of the podcast Cheaper Than Therapy, and author of the recently released book, Sovereign Love. With her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and her experience being the mentee of acclaimed psychotherapist Esther Perel, DenĂ© is passionate about sharing tools and strategies to cultivate spiritual awareness, understanding the current shifts taking place within our societal structures, and empowering others in understanding how they can live the most fulfilling lives possible.

What I hope most is for you, and for me, for all of us, is shed the gender expectations, give our finger to the should and the supposed to’s, so that we can show up as our best, most authentic selves – which is a mix of the masculine and the feminine.

But in order to do that, we need to know ourselves, deeply and intimately – we get to build and create from the inside out, knowing that whatever energy that exists authentically within us is as it should be.

  • We explore a common paradox on this episode (and I’ll be up front that this is one I’ve struggled with for most of my career) – and that is, being a likeable badass.

How can we be both liked as a person and respected for our success? How do we get the recognition, negotiate for our value, and create opportunities without our peers or colleagues seeing us as cold, calculating or selfish? How do we create and leverage power and status as women, if we feel icky about the words power and status?

I don’t have the answers, friend, but I know someone who does.

Alison Fragale is the author of Likeable Badass and the Mary Farley Ames Lee Distinguished Scholar of Organizational Behavior at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Her work has been published in the most prestigious academic journals in her field, and is featured in prominent media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Financial Times, Boston Globe, and many more. A sought-after keynote speaker and trusted advisor, Alison was introduced to me by Adam Grant, and is here today to help us understand more about power, status, and likeability – and how those things impact our ability to get more of what we want.

A loving reminder that whether or not you’re a working professional, we’re ALL negotiating for the things we want, for what matters most to us.

And whether you’re at work or in your personal relationships, your status matters.

It’s time for us to set aside those limiting mindsets because they aren’t serving us or our people.

You can be and become a likable badass.

  • We live in a world where success is often experienced or witnessed in a matter of moments, but what we don’t see are the behind the scenes choices and experiences that got them there. We aren’t learning about what our guest calls “dynamic drive” that leads to sustainable success. It’s not just about setting and achieving goals, there’s so much more to it than that.

Hailed as the “female Jerry Maguire” by CNN, Molly Fletcher has made a name for herself as one of the first female sports agents. During her almost two-decade career, and as President of CSE, Molly negotiated over $500 million in contracts and represented over 300 of sports’ biggest names. A World’s Top 50 Keynote Speaker, the host of the Game Changers with Molly Fletcher podcast, and the founder of The Molly Fletcher Company, she helps leaders transform workplace complacency with her Game Changer Negotiation Training and The Energized Leader programs. Her new book, Dynamic Drive: The Purpose Fueled Formula for Sustainable Success just hit the shelves, and you’re gonna want to get your hands on it.

Being driven isn’t just about mowing your way through life and barreling over anyone who gets in your way. It’s just not that simple and it doesn’t require you to be an asshole. Drive is a mindset, and energy, a discipline, and includes curiosity, resilience, connection and my favorite of them all, confidence.

  • I find tools like Human Design fascinating, and it’s always a little shocking to me how accurate they can be, and how taking the time to self-reflect, to get to know myself better, to learn more about who I am and who I’m not – always makes me better. And I want that for you too!

So I’ve invited Emma Dunwoody, Human Design Expert, Master Coach, Behavioral Specialist and host of the #1 Global Human Design Podcast to be our guest as we dive deeper into Human Design. Emma wants to inspire everyone to unlock their inner wisdom, take their power back and feel deeply confident in the decisions they make, creating a population that values themselves and courageously lives their truth.

My goal in doing a series of episodes about tools like Human Design, is for you to increase your self-awareness, sure, but also your self-acceptance and self-appreciation. It’s about building your confidence – because confidence is all about trusting yourself – which requires you to build a deep, intimate relationship with all the things you are and are not, and invites you to embrace yourself just as you are.

Karen Curry Parker is our guest and she holds a Ph.D. in Integrative Health, and is an international Amazon best-selling author of multiple books on personal transformation, spirituality, and Human Design. She is the creator of the Quantum Human Designℱ and the Quantum Alignment Systemℱ and has been coaching, speaking, training, and podcasting on these topics for over 30 years. Her core mission is to help people reconnect with their natural creativity, manifest their desires effectively, and consciously use the frequency of language and narrative to craft a life that best serves themselves and adds more love and joy into the world.

What would happen if you practiced curiosity over judgment and celebrated all that is vs. trying to find fault or worrying there’s something wrong or missing? What if you appreciated that you were designed exactly as you were meant to be?

  • In this episode, we talk about the Enneagram, which you’ve likely heard about since it’s all the rage right now!

Our guest and resident expert is Kristi Rowles, a Mental Health Therapist turned full-time Enneagram Coach. In the Enneagram world, she is known for teaching it in a way that is easy to understand, practical, fun, and driven toward compassion. In her work coaching individuals and couples, speaking, and leading corporate leadership training, people often ask her, “How do I get certified to do what you do?” So in 2018, she built Enneagram University, where they are committed to transforming Enneagram-and-people-loving humans into the most competent and confident enneagram coaches on the market.

The Enneagram is an opportunity to get to know yourself better – to understand your motivations and preferences, give you insights into your behavior and choices, and help to identify paths for growth and development.

And because, as women, we have a tendency to be others-focused, I’m going to encourage you to start with and stay with you for a while. Use it for self-reflection. Create deeper levels of understanding and intimacy with yourself. Do the internal work.

  • This episode is all about reshaping waste management in our lives and our communities, with a focus on changing the disposable culture we live in into one where reuse is the standard.

Get ready to take some notes!

Multi-faceted global CEO & Entrepreneur Jessica Gonzalez, joins us. She has a long history of building and scaling international startups from the ground up, most recently bringing her entrepreneurial spirit and expertise into the world of sustainable waste management as Founder and CEO of Happen Ventures. At Happen Ventures, she’s championing the cause of beneficial reuse, transforming waste into valuable resources, innovating cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions, and reducing landfill waste all while supporting local communities.

The time has come for action – for all of us to put our money where our mouth is. I don’t mean every single one of us going to zero waste – that’s perfection and as we know, perfection is an unattainable goal. But if all of us reused imperfectly, reduced even minimally, and recycled intentionally – we would ALL be better for it.

And, as most things do, they start with YOU, and me, and us.

  • Why is it that when someone says self-care, I have to keep my eyes from rolling into the back of my head? Why does it feel like it doesn’t mean what it’s supposed to mean anymore? Is it really the answer to ALL of our problems? And does it even help to tell women who are already exhausted and already have more shit than they can handle to do more self-care?

I don’t know, friend. But we’re going to talk about it. Our guest is Dr. Christine Coleman, the Founder and CEO of POC Thriving, a private practice specializing in the intersection of mental health and inclusion, as well as the Executive Director of Sol Sisters Inc., a nonprofit with a mission to help diverse women overcome societal barriers by providing educational and empowering experiences that promote their personal and professional evolution. • Decision-making is a skill we should have all learned in school, but didn’t. On this episode, we’re going to learn how to make decisions - and not little inconsequential ones, but the big life-changing and life-defining decisions - with the help of Abby Davisson.

Abby has dedicated her career to helping others achieve their goals, first as a social innovation leader and now as an author and entrepreneur. She is the co-author of Money and Love: An Intelligent Roadmap for Life’s Biggest Decisions and the founder and CEO of the Money and Love Institute, which helps people make better decisions that lead to happiness, prosperity, and purpose.

When making decisions, sometimes a pause is helpful, sometimes you do really need to “think about it”, but at some point – and I’m guessing that point is much sooner than we think – we must decide.

We cannot make progress, we don’t get closer to what matters, without making decisions. So it’s time we learn how to make the best ones for us!

She advocates re-facing old-school stodgy etiquette with a new vernacular and refreshing relatability, with the philosophy that the world is a better, kinder place when people invest in social skills and learn about empathy. And she’s here to help us with the do’s & don’ts and ways to be emotionally intelligent in a variety of common social events & situations.

While you’re out there doing whatever version of woman’s work feels true for you, remember to mind your manners and follow this old quote – if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.

Let’s throw out what no longer works for us, but make sure to bring forward the things that do.

  • Every time you lie – or fib, stretch or bend the truth, blow smoke, tell a white lie, tell a bald faced lie, lie thru your teeth, spin a yarn, hold back, keep the peace, it doesn’t matter what you call it – every time you do it, you’re chipping away at your own confidence.

On this episode of This Is Woman’s Work, we’re going to talk about the lies we tell, why we do it, and what it’s costing us.

Lauren Handel Zander, Founder and CEO of Handel Group, an international corporate consulting and life coaching company, joins as our guest. Her coaching methodology, The Handel Method¼, is taught in over 35 universities and institutes of learning around the world, including MIT, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and NYU. She is the creator of Inner.U: the online coaching course that teaches us to Human Better¼, and leverages the entirety of The Handel Method, which is being used by celebrities, CEOs, and entrepreneurs. The author of Maybe It’s You, Lauren has been a featured expert in The New York Times, BBC, Forbes, Women’s Health, Dr. Oz, and Marie Claire and has also contributed to Businessweek and the Huffington Post.

It’s time to tell the truth – your truth.

Because if your pants are going to be on fire, let’s have it be about what matters - because of the fire that’s inside you, not because of the lies you tell.

  • This episode is about the value of connection – and I’m going to encourage every single one of us to take one measurable step away from loneliness and toward connection after listening.

Kasley Killam is a leading expert in social health and the author of The Art and Science of Connection: Why Social Health is the Missing Key to Living Longer, Healthier, and Happier. As a graduate of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, sought-after advisor and keynote speaker, and founder of Social Health Labs, Kasley has been improving global well-being through connection for over a decade. Her collaborations with organizations like Google, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the World Economic Forum contribute to building more socially healthy products, workplaces, and communities. And she’s here today to talk about loneliness and the value of connection.

There is no pill or diet that can replace human connection. No pharmacy or doctor who can fill the void or our desire to be seen.

In a world of followers, comments and algorithms, we are craving connection, intimacy, and empathy. And here’s what I know for sure - you deserve to be seen, heard, and valued. We all do.

Connection – as if our lives depend on it – that is woman’s work.
