In this week’s episode of the UKC Hunting Ops Podcast, Allen visits with the living legend, Donnie Huber. Allen and Donnie talk about the golden era of coonhunting back in the ‘50s and ‘60s. We hear about grade hunts, packed parking lots, 3-hour hunts, and even dogs having puppies in the backseat of a station wagon. The guys talk through the changes that hit the coonhound world in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and Donnie shares some stories about the Walker dogs he’s owned and hunted with over the years.

In this week’s episode, Field Trial and Hunt Test Program Manager, Domenick Muoio checks in from the 2024 HRC Fall Grand in Weldon Springs, MO. He visits with Tracey Stubbs, HRC Grand Committee Chairman, to hear more about makes this national event so special for the retriever community. We learn what it takes to get there and compete in such a large event, with around 900 dogs attending this year. He then goes around to each of the test sites and hears from the judge about their setups and how the dogs handled their tests.
