Ok, this is what we are taught, universally, either directly or in subtle ways but the underlying message is don’t you waste the food on your plate! Today, lets dismantle this deep rooted & unskillful way of thinking that is costing you your health & of course leads you to become overweight.
Hi there. How are you doing? Welcome to this episode on “wasting food”. I think this is a conversation that brings up a lot of resistance in all us humans. As a human, firstly it is in our DNA, that eating is essential for survival, which of course is true. But this very primal instinct can be taken too far which is what is happening in today’s world.
We have set up a world which is the perfect place to fatten everybody until & unless you are very conscious & aware of what exactly is happening.
So with eating being essential for our life, food of course is a prized catch. At least it was when we were hunter gatherers & evolving and could be caught up in a situation where we didn’t get food for days together.
But now, we have come to a point in our evolution where there is over abundance of food everywhere. So, living a life based on primal instincts is actually undermining our true potential. Its kind of killing our potential…
And on top of it, when we are growing up we are conditioned to believe in food scarcity where the reality is there is actually none. At least, I beg your pardon, that is what I am assuming if you are listening to this podcast.
The point being in order to evolve to the next level & unleash our full potential in life, we have to get in the habit of questioning the conditioning which our forefathers adapted & they have instilled all that in the coming generations, in all.
It's our job to become aware, examine those beliefs & stop to live as if those are true. So the belief about food that I’m talking about that comes from scarcity mindset is all about “wasting food”.

Do you feel guilty when you overeat? Is food guilt a this a good thing or a bad thing? Do you feel guilty about not being able to do enough for your body weight and health? In this episode, let’s unpack guilt.
You know, I once did a program, a body image program which was quite good and I got a ton of value from it. In that program, I became friends with a wonderful, bright woman from California.
And I remember this one instance where we were discussing about our recent overeating episodes. I was feeling very guilty about this last binge that I had a few days back. But my friend who also happened to binge a few days back said, “Girl, don’t feel guilty. Why are you feeling guilty. After this program, I have decided to never feel guilty no matter how much I eat. I crush the guilt the moment it arises and eat like a badass.”
Now lemme tell you that she thinking this way is not her fault. This is how I have seen many experts talk about guilt, especially in the field of intuitive eating…which is another topic that I would dive in in near future. This is a common advise. F the guilt. You should never feel it just because you ate something that you love. Period.
Now this advise…and this line of thinking is a problem. Firstly because you cannot get rid of guilt just by resolving to not feel it. The only thing you are doing then is suppressing it and pretending that its not there. And with time, the guilt that you suppress makes you eat more, not less which by the way is not a very beneficial way to live.
So today, I want to give you 3 powerful insights about guilt so that you are not stuck with underlying guilt as well as take advantage of this powerful emotion and make it work for you.

Do you struggle with food cravings? Have you tried using will power to say no to your favourites foods only to realise that it doesn’t work for long? And have you ever wondered why you even have cravings, especially when trying to lose weight?
In this episode I'm unpacking the worst nightmare of a chronic dieter and a weight struggler….cravings!
So, I always used to wonder that why is it that I do so well on my diet for the first week or so and then get hit by cravings that derail all my progress and even motivation. And then I also used to ask the dieticians as to how to deal with cravings…you know that urge to eat that chocolate pastry that your best friend orders while you are having sugar less coffee!
But the answer I always got from dieticians & nutritionists was make a “healthier” version of whatever you crave & you are good to go.
The other common responses to this question that I commonly see floating in the weight loss world are -
Suck it up…it’s all about will power. You got to have a strong will power or else you are doomed to succumb to your cravings. Or call a friend, talk to your mom or get a pedicure…This is how we are taught how to manage our cravings.
And let me tell you that I have tried all these methods and that is why I can tell you with 110% confidence that these do not work long term.
In fact they don’t work at all and leave you more frustrated and powerless around food, body and your weight. Sooner or later you end up giving in to the craving and you end up hating yourself in the process….
Still the higher part of you yearns to have a better body and a peaceful relationship with food. It clearly knows that something better is possible.
Well, I would say that once you understand the anatomy of cravings…the urge to overeat, you can literally rewire your brain in a way that not only the the cravings diminish in intensity & frequency, with time they are no longer an issue are no longer.
