Ariana Tsuchiya is currently a Sommelier and Manager with G. Lion Hawaii Restaurant Group. Her passion for wine started during her studies abroad in Italy, venturing through Tuscany and enjoying true parmesan. Although she majored in Marketing at University of Miami, she migrated her career into pursuing her dream of becoming a sommelier, moving back to Oahu and starting at Alan Wong’s Honolulu. Through mentorship and training, Ariana has gone to the regionals twice for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Young Sommelier Competition, became a Certified Specialist of Wine and Spirits from the Society of Wine Educators, attained her WSET Advanced in Sake studies and has become the first local woman from Hawaii to attend the Court of Master Sommeliers Advanced Course. However, her favorite opportunity within this time has been interning with Neyers Vineyards in Napa. Ariana loves traveling and visiting both vineyards and farms. She has an enthusiasm for learning about how culture and the land shape the food and drink we enjoy.

Maile’s culinary career was inspired by watching her mother and family cook traditional Lao, Thai and French food. Family gatherings people sat together sharing a few dishes and eating sticky rice, shredding green papaya and making mouthwatering salads along with meats with herbs of lemongrass, mint, basil and dill. Maile learned all the traditional recipes and then started experimenting with different ingredients.
Maile’s culinary repertoire flourished at Thai Chef in Lahaina, Mekong Thai Restaurant and Paesano Ristorante Italiano in Manoa.
She became Managing partner at Assaggio Ristorante Italiano in Hawaii Kai and there she started experimenting with mixing Asian spices with Italian ingredients.

Patrick Feindt, Jr., PGA, is the Director of Instruction/Fitting for The Golf Sim-Honolulu. Patrick began his career as the 2nd Assistant Golf Professional at Fawn Lake Country Club (Fredericksburg, VA) in 2003. He gained Class A membership with the PGA of America in 2007 after a 4-year apprenticeship. Patrick would later serve the members of Fawn Lake as their Director of Golf from 2011-2016. In 2017, Patrick and his family relocated to Colorado where he became the President of The Armed Forces Golf Academy. There, Patrick created recreational experiences for active duty and retired military service members and their families via golf instructional programing. In 2020, Patrick and his family traveled across the Pacific and settled on the island of Oahu. Patrick holds a Bachelors in Management (George Mason University), Associate degrees in Golf Operations Management and Business Administration (San Diego Golf Academy), Advanced Teaching and Club Repair certification (TGAC), Professional Golf Management Program completion (PGA Learning Center) and a number of awards for his efforts in growing the game to include the 2007, 2008 and 2009 PGA President’s Council. Patrick’s successes would not have been possible if not for the support from his family; wife Mandy (Major, US Army), daughter Palmer (Age 4) and son Trip (18 months).

I am born and raised Hawaii girl. Attended Punahou and Kamehameha Schools. Then studied International Relations at HPU. Started my own business at the age of 19 doing Administrative Services for small businesses and organizations. Represented Hawaii as Miss Hawaii United States and captured the national title of Miss America United States. I am currently the VP of Development for Aloha Charge (distribute Electric Vehicle Charging Stations), Co-Director of Premier Models and Talent, and Co-Owner of Mokuli'i Tax Services. In 2018 I was named on the Pacific Business News 40 under 40 list. Earlier this year, my daughter was cast as a recurring character on NCIS Hawai'i. She is the daughter of the main character played by Vanessa Lachey. She has been in performing arts since the age of 4. So when I'm not working I'm her uber and Momager :). My husband is the Distribution Manager for Red Bull for Hawai'i and Alaska. We have been married for almost 12 years. I also just passed on my position of President of Women Speaking Out. I was President for the past two years but am still extremely involved with the organization. One of the photos I'm submitting is our "Speak Love" mask. I started making jewelry back in high school. It was just a hobby at the time but has slowly evolved into a business and my full time career. I love how OC jewelry makes people feel beautiful. Hana Dreiling was born in Michigan but grew up in Eugene, Oregon. As a passionate food enthusiast and chef, she spent over 11 years in different facets of the good food business, from tropical farming to the development of food companies. After moving to Kauai in 2013, she studied under a number of chefs, eventually leading her to start up her own catering company specializing in high end farm-to-table cuisine incorporating rare and exotic ingredients sourced from the island. Obsessed with the power food yields to bring people and cultures together, she and her brother Nile conceptualized Holey Grail Donuts in 2018 as a culinary crusade to create a better donut, seeking ways to connect local chefs, quality ingredients, and food lovers together.

Hailing from the tiny island of Lanai, Hawaii and graduate of Lanai High School, this DJ, Comedian, TV host and Actor has done it all! Currently, Lanai is a producer/director for WikioCast creating a variety of TV Shows/Podcasts such as “It’s A Hawaii Thing”, which he is also a co-host on, “Culturised,” “Wine &…,” “Runnin’ It Back,” and this newest one, “Art of Beer!” Lanai also hosts Cooking Hawaiian Style, currently in its 8th season. In the 90’s, Lanai was part of Hoku nominated comedy trio “The 3 Local Boys.” With four albums under his belt, you might remember such hits as “Rice Rice Baby,” “I’m A Filipino” or the song that went national, “Me So Hungry.” Lanai is no stranger to international and local TV shows such as Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, Co-host with Anthony Bourdain’s NO Reservations, Jake and the Fat Man, Da Braddah’s, Baywatch Hawaii, Hawaii Five-0, and he has also been in a variety of local commercials. He has been touring the mainland doing stand-up comedy openings for Henry Kapono, Andy Bumatai, Augie Tulba, Wayne Brady and Damon Wayans, to name a few. As a 25- year radio veteran, Lanai co-created the Island 98.5 radio station, and currently is on air in Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan.

I basically worked in the family restaurant business and was a waiter and bartender through my college years. I opened Teddy's Bigger Burgers with Ted Tsakiris in 1998. We opened over 26 restaurants in 5 countries over the next 21 years. We opened the first TEX808 BBQ+BREWS in the Hawaii Kai Towne Center in 2019. Our 2nd store is a quick-serve version at Moanalua Shopping Center. We are moving the Hawaii Kai location to a location on the water in Hawaii Kai set to open in late 2020. TEX808 Waikiki opened at the Laylow Hotel this past Friday, Oct 29, 2020.

Ken Takahashi was raised in Hilo on the Big Island for most of his adolescent years. He attended Waiakea High School and furthered his education at University of Hawaii in 1987. He graduated with a degree in International Business. He then opened The Dog House in the early 90’s at the King’s Village Waikiki while selling hot dogs, shaved ice, Dave’s ice cream and Hawaiian food. Shortly after he opened Shooters Bar and Grill in Hilo in the mid 90’s and had the restaurant open for 12 years. At that time, it was the only 4 AM restaurant bar on the Big Island at that time, and he was the first to bring in constant Hawaiian music from around the state. After that he did some consulting work in the 2000’s then helped run the Hukilau Restaurant in Downtown Honolulu. In July of 2010, he opened the Honolulu Burger Company. Ken wanted to promote local 100% grass fed free range beef on Oahu. His goal was to promote and support Hawaii island ranchers and Oahu local farmers and bakeries by using locally sourced ingredients. Ken did an amazing job as he was the first to provide a fun and unpretentious way of eating local beef. He noted that no one was doing what he was offering at Honolulu Burger Company and if it wasn’t for his restaurant, the only way to get a 100% burger was at high end restaurants.

Founding member of the six-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning group Maunalua, Bobby Moderow, Jr. is a renowned slack key guitar and falsetto artist. A member of the prestigious Honolulu Boy Choir from ages 9 to 12, Moderow later become a protégé of the late slack key guitar master Raymond Kane, who was proclaimed a National Living Treasure by the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts in 1987, and awarded funding for the apprenticeship program under which Moderow studied.
With his Maunalua brothers, Moderow has performed all over the world, including at the inaugural luʻau for President Obama; the 150th anniversary of the Smithsonian; and solo several times at the Grammy® Museum. As part of his desire to give back and to be one of the "keepers of the [Hawaiian music] flame" Moderow also teaches slack key - the award-winning artist Makana having been one of his students - and he has taught elementary school children at the Grammy® Museum for the past few years. He is currently teaching at the University of Hawai'i West Campus on O'ahu.

Justin Tanioka’s parents, Mel and Lynn Tanioka embarked on their business journey in 1978 in hopes to service the Leeward side of the island with fresh seafood.
With support from family and friends, Tanioka's has grown from a small 1,000 square foot space with a few volunteers to owning two side by side commercial buildings totaling over 16,000 square feet.

Brian Keaulana is the son of legendary waterman “Buffalo” Keaulana and a wonderful woman many simply call “Aunty Momi.” Keaulana was literally raised at Makaha Beach, where his father was a lifeguard. Keaulana earned the respect of watermen across the world for his powerful surfing style, and later for his ocean safety expertise and lifesaving techniques. He continues to thrive in the ocean as a master of tandem, canoe surfing, big-wave riding and tow-in surfing and has over 500 awards in these fields. The former Hokule’a crewmember also is a professional stuntman and stunt coordinator. Brian innovated the use of the jet rescue crafts for high surf rescue, invented, and designed the rescue sled behind rescue crafts. He helped implement ocean risk management for the State, County and private sectors with the United States Army Safety Center in Hawaii and around the World. “One of my biggest achievements is being a local lifeguard and saving thousands of people, and being able to teach that skill around the world,” says Keaulana. “Seeing the impact of the Jet Ski being used to save lives and knowing that I had my hand on that, that is something I’m really proud of.”

Andrea Tournis-Vagenas and her husband moved to Hawaii from Chicago 10 years ago and enjoyed life in the islands. They both thought the kerny of the Windy City was missing in the islands. Andrea and her husband were both craving Garrett Popcorn, a handcrafted Chicago-style popcorn that is famous for its caramel and cheese mix. The missing blend of tangy cheese and rich caramel popcorn and its familiar sweet aroma served as the inspiration for the birth of Island Popper Gourmet Popcorn. After planning and perfecting recipes in her kitchen for nine months, Tournis-Vagenas found a food truck on Craigslist and launched the business in 2012. The truck, known affectionately as “Poppy,” served as the business’s home on wheels for seven years until Island Popper expanded to a storefront location on Colburn Street in Kalihi two years ago. Darragh O'Carroll, M.D. is an emergency physician with Kuakini Medical Center and Slainte Inc. He is also a writer, medical consultant, CNN contributor, and physician voice for Every1ne Hawaiʻi. Darragh received his emergency medicine residency and medical internship from the University of Southern California and Los Angeles County Medical Center, his medical doctorate from the University of Hawaiʻi John. A. Burns School of Medicine, and his bachelor of science in human physiology from Boston University. He is a board member of Every1ne Hawaiʻi, volunteer medical officer for the Polynesian Voyaging Society where he served on the return leg of the Ala Hula Kai O Maleka voyage from San Diego to Honolulu, and medical operations officer for the disaster response agency Team Rubicon, most recently providing disaster relief to the Bahamas in September of 2019 after category 5 Hurricane Dorian.
