How do we show up imperfectly in a world that demandsperfection?
We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to never mess up. This can do more harm than messing upitself. The pressure to never mess up is perfection. Underneath perfection lies shame and a sense that there is a right way. And if I donât do it right, Iâm not good enough.
In this episode I talk about the power of taking the pressure off, being open to messing up, and seeing the gifts that messing up has to offer.

As children we learned to be âgoodâ and as an adult we want to be a âgoodâ mother. But what does GOOD really mean?
Essentially, being good means to make everyone happy. And to make everyone happy comes with self-sacrifice. We expend an enormous amount of energy into avoiding conflict and upset. And that comes at a big cost.
Studies show that high stress, depression and anxiety arecorrelated with self-sacrifice.
Itâs time for an UPGRADE.
Creating connections is a process that moves us towardfeeling seen, heard and understood. Itâs about feeling valued and having a sense of belonging. Itâs about showing up for who we are and expressingourselves authentically. It is only then that true connections form.
The benefit of connection is THRIVING.

âThereâs no path to happiness.Happiness is the path.â
âBuddha
Happiness is our natural state. However, we have beensocialized to believe we must be in pursuit of happiness and that happiness comes from outside of us.
So, we search for happiness. And in this search we often tend to get lost. On this episode my guest, Bon Normandeau, shares her story andher journey back to herself and true happiness.
Bona is the host of The Happier YouPodcast, Empowerment Coach, and Public Speaker. Her mission is to empower individuals to find their own happiness, helping them navigate their uniquejourneys with greater resilience and more joy! After realizing she was lost, lacking focus and living a life of fitting in, she decided to embark on a journey to discover what living her best life could look like. Instead of justtaking the journey herself, she decided to start her podcast and share her experiences with others in case anyone else out there needed to know theywerenât alone. She found out she most definitely wasnât alone. Sheâs been inspiring action ever since.

Today, I am sharing my thoughts on Mothering. Motherâs Day can mean many things to many people. In a culture that judges mothers based on their childâs behavior, mothering can be extremely stressful. Who did I have tobe for my mother to be seen as a good mother? Who do my children have to be for me to be seen as a good mother? When we are not willing to look atour truth it will eventually come out sideways. If we donât heal our own wounds (the things that trigger us) we WILL hand these wounds to the next generation.

âBoredom is a defense to emotional awareness.â
-Gary Zukav
On todayâs episode we are talking about boredom.
Boredom is a form of resistance. It is resistance tobecoming aware of what you are feeling. This is the ROOT of boredom.
Boredom is not right or wrong nor good or bad. Boredom is natural.
We can fall into drama roles around boredom. Boredom can be empowering, building skills such asinitiative, self-reliance, and problem-solving skills as well as creativity, curiosity, and flexibility. It also builds tolerance for discomfort.
Allowing your children to own their own boredom and find their own solutions is essential in helping them build important life skills.
In this episode you will learn how to use boredom as an opportunity and ways to respond to your child when they proclaim, âIâm bored.â

Todayâs episode is the third part of a three-part series defining the difference between punishment, consequences and boundaries. These threetopics are often misunderstood and can become intertwined. They are, however, very different. Today we are talking about boundaries.
Let's break it down:
Punishment â Blame. Focused on the problem.
Consequence â Support. A plan for a new outcome. Focused on solutions.
Boundaries â How I get my own needs met. Also, solutionfocused.
Boundaries is all about taking ownership of my own thoughts, feelings and actions. It is about living in alignment with my truth. Boundaries require radical self-awareness. They are liberating. Boundaries put you incontrol of you. Boundaries are between YOU and YOU even when they involve other people. It is not your responsibility to manage other peopleâs response to yourtruth. It is not other peopleâs responsibility to maintain your boundaries.

Todayâs episode is the second part of a three-part series inproviding more clarity around punishment, consequences and boundaries.
I find that these three things can be wildly misunderstood.
I am offering this series to provide some clarity around how each of these is different. Often, we use these words interchangeably however, each carry a different energy, purpose and impact.
On this episode, we dive into effective consequences.
Key takeaways:
· A true consequence is about how one FEELS aboutthe impact of their choices and actions
· Effective Consequences are about taking ownershipof oneâs choices and actions
· Trust must be present to take ownership
· Effective Consequences focus on solutions ratherthan the problem
· Effective Consequences create problem solvers
· Effective Consequences keep self-worth in tact
· With Effective Consequences the child becomespart of the solution
· Effective Consequences is about solving aproblem without diminishing anyone in the process
· 3 elements of Effective Consequences are:Reflection, Make a plan, Follow-up
· 3 types of Effective Consequences are: Natural, Logicaland Problem Solving

Do you find that the lines between punishment, consequences and boundaries can be blurred and confusing?
Culturally, we often change words. However, when the lens in which we look through doesnât change, they become intertwined. I am offering this three-part series to provide you with more clarity. Through this series you will be invited to open up to new perceptions and insights.
In this episode we will dive into punishment, what it is andits impact.
In this episode I talk about how punishment:
· Creates shame & self-doubt
· Creates a barrier to decision making
· Creates perfectionism
· Erodes self-worth and creates the belief of notgood enough
· Creates separation and a âmeâ vs. âyouâ dynamic
· Is used for adult convenience and emotional relief
· Creates pleasers and controllers- (drama roles)

âThere is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.â
â William Shakespeare
Are you surrounded by negative people? Perhaps you have a child who always seems to see from the glass half empty.
I have been getting questions lately about how to deal with other peopleâs negative attitude. Today,I share some of the following thoughts on negativity.
What is your relationship to negativity? Did you learnNOT to be negative? Temperament can play a part in negativity. What you resist, persists and grows bigger. Are you overcompensating for positivity? How can youmanage your energy rather than taking on the energy of others?
Tune in and letâs untangle our resistance to negativity.
