Get involved with this Prosecco-fueled session (new podcast method unlocked?!), the last one before a much-needed break.

Gloria's been pretty tame but the preparation continues for everything from seeking out better ways to track her to creating signs for Suzanne's new house that will help place her when she doesn't know where she is. Which is often. Kelly & Suzanne also prepare to say goodbye to living on the same street, which has been a caregiving lifesaver, and discuss the physical distance this will put between them. But, you know, we've got this!

The sisters convene again after Kelly's trip out of the country, and now she gets to hear all the juicy Gloria deets from Suzanne. It all started while she was still at the airport, as Mama packed her bag, and by bag we mean trashbag. Do what? Yep, you heard right!

When Gloria's sense of place fades, what do we do? Lie on the fly, for one. In this episode, Kelly and Suzanne talk about Gloria's recent distress and how to validate without gaslighting, how anger sometimes feels easier than sadness, and how caregivers must intentionally protect their own relationships!

On this episode of Dementia Unfiltered, Gloria gives a good grilling to Suzannne! Nothing like being stuck in the car with a dementia lady demanding to know why you're making her live with you! What to do? Lie. That's what.

Kelly found a curious thing inside a ziplock bag, heard some commotion again in the middle of the night, and had a both chaotic and sad trip to the store with Gloria on Christmas Eve. How's your holiday grief going? Suzanne and Kelly talk about that and more on this episode of Dementia Unfiltered!

Sorry, fam! Between Suzanne's surgery, Kelly getting sick and going to a conference and then the holidays entering the chat like a bull in a china shop, we definitely did not have this. Now, we've got this, for at least a minute, and we can't wait to tell you about all the mama drama of late. Hallucinations are life now and not good for anyone but at least December is here with plenty of Christmas-y cheer and distraction and activitties galore for Gloria! Let's go, babes!

Welcome to Episode 2 of Season 3, where Suzanne and Kelly are still trauma dumping mama drama but hanging in there despite accusations that no one has fed Gloria! In this episode, Suzanne & Kelly make light of more everyday BS, like working through her ever-present desire to "go home," moving through anger and frustration with mothering the Mother, and still dealing with her fear of burnin' down the house, since their literal childhood. But at least there's a cool new tool to help lessen the load.

Welcome back! In Season 3's first episode, Suzanne & Kelly return after a pause to recover from one helluva summer. Probs the most traumatic one yet, in fact. But the mama drama continued during the hiatus, and the sisters took notes. There are more weird dreams, hallucinations, fun and funny moments with mama, and a brief, unexpected recollection of the strong, confident, protective woman she was before all the BS began.

Life doesn't care that you're a caregiver. It'll still flood your kitchen, give you a gas leak scare, and shit on you in general. It won't even let the dog in the book (that you're reading for escape), like, live. Absolute bullshit!
In this episode, Suzanne and Kelly discuss the latest whirlwind that is an average day in the life of a caregiver, and Gloria's hanging on pretty good, honestly. The mantra "you've got this," continues to sometimes end with a question mark, but at least they've "got each other."

What’s this? A second dinner request?
We’re talking about what to do when your loved one forgets the lovingly (and painstakingly) large amount of care they’re getting 24/7. If you figure it out, let us know. In this episode, we’re venting and laughing through the latest mama drama and sharing a quick update on our Big Hometown Project as we (hopefully) near the finish line.

This week’s episode of Dementia Unfiltered is a tearful one. From heirlooms to camellia cuttings, we’re sorting through furniture, logistical hell, and the reality of letting go. This one’s all about the grief that sneaks up when you’re just trying to do the next right thing, dammit.

We’re in the studio cooking up Episode 8, but right now we’re taking a lil’ 7th inning stretch, because sometimes your brain needs a breather before it hits the next pitch.
Thanks for hanging with us while we stretch, hydrate, and avoid the metaphorical pulled hamstring. In the meantime, we're serving up a dish today featuring the one and only Gloria herself! Hear her regale us with a story about playing a game in her "volunteer" group, a.k.a. adult day care, with other dementia participants.
Back soon, peeps!

Kelly & Suzanne are back in the ol' hometown for some final cleanout and trauma time — junk taken to the dump, emotions still lingering. A lavender farm brings a soft close to a hard day and the sisters plan/dread an upcoming weekend of multi-appointment cleanout and a mess of logistics that has them spinning. Meanwhile, Gloria’s oblivious, looking cute and eating orange sherbet. If she only knew she'd "kill us dead!"

Azaleas. Camellias. Dogwood. Holly. Tulips. Lillies. In this episode of Dementia Unfiltered, Kelly and Suzanne discuss the poetry of the beautiful things that have been woven into their lives, both inside and outside their family home. They also ask the same question Mama keeps asking: How did we get here? From channeling Marie Kondo in the art of letting go to screaming at the 'Dump Nazi' at the 'OCD Dump,' this caregiving duo is coping with an emotional rollercoaster of a summer/year.
