Didn't See that Coming is intense, in depth, and intended to walk through a really difficult time in my life ... to help you see the humanity and grow in yours!
It's intense for me to walk through and a true labor of love for my audience and family. That's why I've decided this is a good time to pause the podcast.
My plan is to bring new episodes out again next December - January!
If you love this work, make sure to listen to my Healthy Me Reset podcast - episodes will continue weekly 💓

Are you unfulfilled in your life?
Feel like everyone else has found their place, their people, their comfort zone and you just can't quite fit?
You hit the worlds success and you are just existing.
I've been there.
In this episode, I'm sharing my own story of feeling like a square peg in a round hole. And why unfulfillment is inevitable in that place.
And where you turn for fulfillment will ultimately become your strength or your next problem.
Medicine might offer you a diagnosis... and medications to numb yourself out. But they won't offer fulfillment.
Buffers like spending money and social media will offer distraction but not fulfillment.
For me, turning to God, the higher power, has brought more peace, comfort, and fulfillment than anything else I've ever found.
Opening my mind to fulfillment from that place has changed this journey from unraveling to reset in the healthiest ways.
If you are ready to step into your reset and find fulfillment and purpose in being you, head to www.emilyvinzantmd.com to find out how to work with me in creating your Healthy Me Reset spirituall, mentally, and physically.

As women, we are often taught early to "paint the face"... to look happy, to be pretty, to hide the pain.
We learn in the process that the natural us is unacceptable, less happy, less pretty, something to hide.
In the unraveling, many of us reach a point where we just don't want to paint any longer.
What we do with that determines our futures, can impact relationships, and creates a strength or weakness in our relationships with ourselves.
In this episode, I'm sharing how an unexpected connection made me take a long look at my own paint. And what I'm choosing to do with that.
If dropping the paint is part of your Healthy Me Reset, I invite you to come work with me. God sees you authentically but those human voices can be loud. Let's balance that out. Head to www.emilyvinzantmd.com to find out more!

Notice a generational shift in respect in your family?
Me, too.
That's what we are taking on in this episode of the podcast.
You may not agree with definitions used by other generations but you have to understand their definitions before you will ever move forward to the relationship you desire.
If you feel disrespected, taken advantage of, or misunderstood, this episode is for you.
I've got my my daughter, Ella, on the podcast sharing her thoughts on respect and I'm sharing mine. And, boy, are they different!
If you are ready to start your own Healthy Me Reset and get out of this unraveling, come work with me! Head to www.emilyvinzantmd.com to find out how.

Sometimes we don't agree.
Sometimes we see things differently.
The relationships that matter most in our lives are the clearest reflection of that.
For me recently, it has been with my daughter, Ella.
And she's on the podcast with me this week!
In this episode, Ella and I dive into how we see ourselves and each other. And why understanding that can be the key to reconstructing healthy relationships with each other.
This episode is key for those of you who have a teen to twenty-year-old in your life. Please share it with anyone who needs to hear it...

Feeling a little lost in this world?
I have reached a time in my life where the old answers aren't fitting, the old experts don't feel like the experts I thought they were, and I'm finding so much new connection in that.
It's ok to be lost when you know your foundation.
You will be in this journey.
It's ok to not have all the answers.
You aren't meant to.
It's ok to question the answers you thought were right.
They might not be.
That's growing into the new you through your unraveling.
The you who can sit with people differently: with understanding, with connection, with authenticity and questioning through shared pain.
That connection with yourself, with God, with others might be exactly what God is creating in your lost times.

Resetting through the unravel takes strength to show up differently when you are already struggling.
Where do you turn for that strength?
That space changed drastically for me through the unraveling. As a Doctor, I knew the solution wasn't medication for me. As a coach, I knew the results and limitations that mindset changes would create. When I finally surrendered to my answers in faith, that path became really clear.
I had to look at my thoughts about God to get there.
Correcting my thoughts changed everything in my strength to rebuild.
That was the strength I needed for the reset... and the peace that came with it I did not see coming.
With that, I'm ready to get started helping you RESET.
I'm pausing the Didn't See That Coming podcast to launch season 2 of my original podcast, The Healthy Me Reset.
If you've got strength to start your reset, head over there and let's get started!

When life hits hard, who can you trust?
Do you find yourself looking to experts for advice? Or nose-deep in a book or devotionaL?
Do you seek your Mom's opinion or your spouses?
Who you turn to for strength will ultimately be your strength foundation. It's important to choose wisely.
And remember, that all humans are flawed. Even the ones you look up to. They have good intentions and still might bail on you, get it wrong, and lead to less trust in yourself.
The ultimate trust lies in your relationship with God.

What gives you hope or relief in your unraveling?
If it's built on the stories that got you here, you will miss out on the true strength you need for the reset... and make this unraveling last a lot longer!
If you hold hope that you can out action this, that you can gain enough accolades or achievements to gain hope, or that other people will fix it for you, that hope will eventually crumble. Humans are flawed - and that includes you and other people.
The highest level hope comes from somewhere different... your relationship with God. And that hope is greater than the hope you will find in any of those old stories!

Do you feel numb?
Or choose unhealthy things to numb out and then beat yourself up for wasting your life?
I have a kinship to Jelly Roll on this one.. and you will, too. As he says it best, "I'm searching for new ways I can get gone."
You won't eliminate "numb" by numbing out - you will just create extra layers of numbing to unravel.
I've experienced a lot of numb in the unraveling - and only one other time in my life. I'm sharing why today.
Numbness was protecting myself from the emotions I was too afraid to feel.
Where you turn for strength in this unraveling will ultimately create your strength for the future.
In this episode, I'm sharing 3 potential places to turn to get out of the numbness: medicine, coaching/counseling, and faith. And walking you through the strength you can gain in each.
Please share this episode with someone in your life who is struggling with numbness, they need to hear it!

What are you really hungry for in this unraveled life?
For me, it was food for a really long time. Food stepped in to fix the physical hunger but nothing more. Because I was using food to distract myself from the real hunger: for acceptance, connection, family, love.
When I recognized that food didn't fix that hunger, I overcame my weight battle. But life kept showing me the unraveling layers of hunger underneath it. The hunger to be seen, be picked, to matter led to this unraveling.
In this episode, I'm sharing what I needed to fill me to gain strength for the reset. I couldn't do it alone... and you don't have to either.

In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm looking at love unraveled!
How does love show up in your life? Do you find yourself adding rules around how people love you? And how you accept it?
We all need love as humans. We judge how others show, and don't show, it to us. And our relationships are built up or destroyed based on those judgements.
Are you ready to feel ALL the love in your life? You can create that starting today.
It starts with 2 simple choices. I'm covering them on the podcast today!

2 Samuel 7:18 "Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and said, 'Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord God; you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come."

What are you using to cope with life?
In the unravelling, those coping skills will start as a place of survival, something to turn to get by. But you will find they progress to creating another problem to be dealt with. And you'll end up looking to find coping skills to deal with the coping skill unless you get to the heart of the issue.
It takes a foundational reset.
That foundational reset will change your whole life, not just minimize the coping skill.
It starts by giving God a little space to straighten your path.

Feel like the universal doormat in your life? Do you blend into the background? Wait to fit in before you say anything or stand out?
Does that lead to you being the chameleon? The person everyone walks on?
Being the doormat is a character issue and one that I'm all too familiar with.
Wonder how to overcome that? I'm sharing on this episode of the podcast.
Because when the doormat unravels, you've got a mess all over the foundation.
It's time to reset that doormat foundation based off your core values, your character, and create your legacy.

Ready to start the process of finding who you are meant to be in this unraveling?
Is your go-to answer the next book, devotional or podcast?
It was mine. And the reset required something else first: stillness and the ego check that stillness required.
In this episode, I'm unraveling the ego in a way that's unqiue to me: medically, psychologically, and spiritually. And discovering why stillness feels like the most important ego check I never seem to desire.
Stillness first is exactly the work that creates what I need for my reset. Give it a try...
