Within the Church politics continue to divide. In episode 4, I asked the question -If Jesus was physically present in America today, what would He say about Politics? Who would He say to vote for? What would He say to you?

Stay tuned here for part 2 as we take a Biblical look at Healing the Heart of the Church in the area of politics …seeking to answer the questions-

    How should the Church respond?

Can the right person in government really change hearts?

    What is your part?

In the previous episode, we discussed the difference between politics and government. Govt is established by God and to be honored. Politics is man's way of applying government for control, power or leadership of specific groups or persons, sometimes good and sometimes bad. It is a heart issue.

We have to guard our hearts, especially from fear. Fear is destructive and divisive. Fear tempts us to want to control, clouds our judgment, and pulls our hearts away from the love of God. It is in His love that we can know who we are created to be. Where let fear be in the driver's seat of our hearts, it will drive you away from your true identity and purpose and into the ditch of religion or rebellion.

In order to be part of the solution we have to have our hearts rightly aligned with God, remembering that the currency of the Kingdom of God is not winning arguments but winning souls. The people who you disagree with politically have living spirits that have an eternal destination. They are made in the image of Christ. Will your interactions with them, or theirs with you, draw them closer to Jesus or further away?

If we want to partner in the move of God in this hour, we have to prepare our hearts to receive it. Now is the time for healing the heart of the church to move forward fearless and free, to be all He has created the Body of Christ to be.

  • As America prepares for another presidential election, the tensions are growing. Over the last
few elections, the political division in America has grown to a level of aggressive and violent
demonstration. Each party becoming more toxic and polarizing, condemning the other. Like a
bad divorce, each is blaming and accusing the other for all the problems, with neither taking full
accountability for their own part or seeking to work in the best interest of the whole family.
Within the Church, politics divide, with Christians judging, condemning, and shaming brothers
and sisters in Christ who do not see eye to eye. If Jesus was physically present in America
today, what would He say about Politics? Who would He say to vote for? What would He say to
    you?
In this episode, we look at politics and Christianity in America through the lens of Scripture
and Jesus own words…seeking to answer the questions-
    - What is the difference between politics and government? - What is the currency of the Kingdom of God? - What is my part?
In order to be part of the solution we have to have our hearts rightly aligned with God. That
comes from prayer, being in His word, and surrendering to His will and timing, not ours. We
have to seek His heart for our cities, countries and world.
If we want to partner in the move of God in this hour, we have to prepare our hearts to receive it
and carry the weighty responsibility. Now is the time for healing the heart of the church to
find healing and wholeness for our own hearts, and to move forward fearless and free, to be
all He has created the body of Christ to be.

  • In a world of celebrities, superstars, entertainers and influencers we can get confused on what it means to be a Christian. Is it a mob of fans lined up for tickets to the latest worship experience? Is it a crowd of people pushing to get a good seat in the megachurch? Is it following the big name preacher, prophetic speaker, or theological giant?

    Let’s explore together.

    What is a Jesus Fan?

Aren't we to be Jesus Followers?

What does it mean to be in fellowship with Him?

The Kingdom of God is at hand. The Lord Himself is preparing the people of God for the return of Christ. It is time for the Bride to be dressed and ready, eagerly and expectant for her bridegroom.

Our churches today are filled with people who know about Jesus, and cheer for HIm, but don't really know Him.

Only those fully surrendered to the presence of God will transform lives and impact communities.

As one who has been a sinner, fan, follower and now in fellowship, I can testify that no one is too far from Him. The one who has been forgiven much loves much. Luke 7:41-47

If we want to partner in the move of God in this hour, we have to prepare our hearts to receive it and carry the weighty responsibility. Now is the time for healing the heart of the church to move forward fearless and free, to be all He has created us to be.

  • As a science major in college and graduate school, I am very familiar with dissection. In order to understand the function of the human body, we look at the parts. We study it in sections. We would focus on the head and neck, then the chest, the organs, blood flow, nervous system…you get the idea. We would take a very detailed look at a body part to understand how it is structured. But to fully understand we had to see how it connected to the whole body and the function it played overall.

The kingdom of God is referred to as the body of Christ. It is not a building. Or a denomination. It is the people of God that are the temple of God, the place where He has chosen to dwell.

What does the Bible say about the body of Christ?

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

We are one body, of many parts.

    United in Christ

    Baptized by one Spirit

Jews, Gentiles, slaves and free all one in Christ

If that is true, then why are we so divided?

Join Dana in this look at the dissection happening the body of Christ and discover the key to moving as one body. If we want to partner in the move of God in this hour, we have to prepare our hearts to receive it and be fully connected to the heart of God. Now is the time for healing the heart of the church so we can move forward as one body fearless and free, to be all He has created the Church to be.

If you missed the last episode you missed a big announcement. Laura moving into new season with her book and movie project. If you missed it please go back and listen. We will have her on from time to time to share updates so we can all cheer her on in the calling the Lord has given her in this season.

I am excited to continue on this podcast journey with you!

What you can expect going forward…

Continue to have a safe place to meet on behalf of your own spiritual health

Continue to have a place to receive resources for healing and reconciliation of your own identity, purpose and place in the body of Christ.

Continue to have expert guest testimonies and teachings.

Continue to experience empowerment to apply key principles to walk out your calling and impact your sphere of influence with the light and life of Christ.

As I have prayed about this podcast and what the Lord has for us, He has been confirming many things for us to discuss in relation to our place in the body of Christ. This is an important time in the history of the church, especially in America. We are in a spiritual war for the heart and soul of our nation.

Among Christians there is a battle over politics

    A battle over sexual identity

    A battle for our children

    A battle over race

    So what can we do?

As Christians we have an command to pray for those in authority over us

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers,) intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved) and to come to a knowledge of the truth

We have a command to love the Lord God with all our heart, soul. mind and strength

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; Luke 10:27

We have a command to love our neighbor as ourself.

and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Luke 10:27

We have a command to the great Commision

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20

We have a command to unity in the body with Christ Jesus as the Head.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:1-6

We have a command to put on the full armor and fight the right enemy.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms

    Ephesians 6:10-12

Hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 2-3

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. Rev 2:17

We cannot do these effectively in areas we are not healed. Our wound will do the talking, we will get hooked into offense by others, and our emotions will react instead of responding. In order to be a healthy part of the body of Christ, we must address our wounded parts.

The healing process requires surrendering our hearts fully to Jesus. It requires humility to be willing to recognize our sin and take accountability for our part. It requires aligning our desires with heavens.

This, then, is how you should pray:

    “‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,

    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

    Matthew 6:9-11

If we are seeking a move of God we have to prepare our hearts to receive it and carry the weighty responsibility. Now is the time for healing the heart of the church.

In the next few episodes we will identify sources of wounding and illness in the body of Christ, to find healing and wholeness for our own heart, and move forward fearless and free, to be all He has created you to be.
