As police officers, many of us find ourselves trapped in unproductive routines, leading to burnout and emotional exhaustion. We come home after a long day, talk about going to the gym or training, but end up sitting in front of the TV before going to sleep. But it doesn't have to be this way. We can counteract the harmful effects of these routines by changing our mindset and emotional reactions. Creating a positive and purposeful routine is essential to getting things done and achieving our goals.

Welcome to another enlightening episode of Fight the Burnout, the podcast dedicated to helping law enforcement officers combat burnout and cultivate resilience. In this interview, we are thrilled to have Steve Sweeting, an esteemed 18-year Police Sergeant, as our special guest.
Steve's firsthand experience as an active duty police sergeant has exposed him to the hardships that law enforcement officers face daily. From life-altering situations like receiving a medal of valor for two heroic shootings to enduring the heart-wrenching loss of a life in a car fire, Steve understands the toll these experiences can take on officers' well-being.
In his quest to find inner strength and happiness despite external circumstances, Steve turned to Stoic philosophy. He discovered that by embracing Stoicism, he could build resilience, maintain a sense of control, and find fulfillment amidst the challenges of the job.
Driven by his phenomenal personal results, Steve felt a deep calling to share the transformative power of Stoicism with fellow law enforcement officers. He authored a book, established a comprehensive website, and developed training services, all with the intention of empowering LEOs with this ancient wisdom.
