Takeaways
Experimentation and challenging oneself within reason can lead to positive adaptations and progress in rehabilitation.Pain does not always correlate with tissue damage, and reframing pain can help with the emotional component of pain.Progress in pain management can be measured by comparing the duration and intensity of flare-ups over time.Giving advice on social media is challenging due to the contextual nature of pain and individual experiences.Individualized and contextualized guidance, such as phone calls or in-person appointments, can be more effective in addressing specific pain concerns. -

On Episode 132 of the Fitness For The Fairways podcast, Joe sat down with Clinton Lee a Physical Therapist and Owner of Physio Strength in NYC.
When it comes to performance, many professionals have conflicting ideas on what's good for someone vs what is not. This can make understanding what is best for YOU very difficult.
This is where the concept of orthopedic cost vs orthopedic revenue comes from.
Orthopedic cost = movements and exercises that will break down your body over the long term.
Orthopedic revenue = movement and exercises that will build longevity and improve health. The question is which exercises are inherently good and which are bad. Maybe the better question is, do they actually exist?

On Episode 126 of the Fitness For The Fairways podcast, Joe sat down with Dan Hwang, a Physical Therapist in New York City.
Golf is hard.
But when looking to get better at any skill, knowing your starting point and your destination is extremely important. Without knowing where you are going, you will never know where you might end up.
This is why I believe tracking your stats and setting realistic and attainable goals are important if you are serious about getting better at the game of golf.
I play for fun but have had a goal of being respectable at golf after a few embarrassing stories. This has led me on a quest to slowly improve my handicap with a current goal of getting my handicap below 25 (48 handicap two seasons ago).
In this episode, Dan and I dive into goal setting as well as our own goals so you can follow along with me throughout the season. Once you set your goals for 2022, share them with me on Instagram!
