I want to give you one thought that can help you in ANY situation.
This, right now, this life that you are living is a dream come true.
The home I live in, the people I am surrounded by, the food I eat, the medications available to me, the vacation ahead, the school my children attend, the job my husband has, the fact that we have computers and beds and cars. This is all a dream come true.
You canât just say it over and over in your head. Well you can, but it wonât land the same. However, saying it with a deep feeling of gratitude will create an entirely different experience.

Through my tears today I share with you something dear to my heart. I know that as a mother, sometimes we feel all alone in our struggles. We feel that we are all alone in helping our kids fight their battles. We feel that we are all alone in advocating for ourselves and our children. Our brains offer us this thought, "I am all alone in this" more often than we can count.

Life is Hard. Guess what? I agree. These things are hard. Being challenged in any way is hard.
Telling yourself âthis is hardâ just doesnât help. âI wish this was easierâ is a similar thought. You are wishing yourself out of the situation you are in.
I get it-there are many trials in my life that I wanted to WISH away. But-you know as well as I do, that just doesnât work.
We are humans, so we go through hard things in our lives. That is just a fact of life.
Sometimes, when we are in a really good mindset, that is enough. Just to accept the FACt that we go through hard things simply because we are human.
Other times, those hard things that we and our kids experience just seem to crush us.
Let's talk about how to move from "This is Hard" to a more helpful mindset where we can actually succeed.

Often, people on the outside look at my life and tell me that I am âbusyâ.
I hate that word. I dislike a few words and phrases in my life. One of them is âI donât knowâ...another is âbusy.â
I believe that if you run around telling yourself the surface thought of âI am so busyâ....you will be just that. You will run around with your head cut off feelings bad for yourself all day long. It doesn't have to be this way.

When you tell your brain âI donât knowâ....how do you feel?
Do you feel indifferent?
Do you feel motivated?
Do you feel helpless?
Do you feel confused?
When you allow your brain to rule your world , when you allow your brain to make decisions all on its own, it will almost always tell you I donât know how to do this. This is when you get the opportunity to answer your brain. I love answering my brain, if youâve listen to me much, you know that I talk to my brain a lot. I almost treat my brain like it is a totally different entity than me. When my brain tells meâI donât know how to ask my mama about her feelingsâ I answer my brain. Now-I donât mean that You need have to answer to your question right away. What I mean is thatâŠâŠ.I might say âthatâs interesting, you have definitely asked your mom her feelings beforeâ. This is when I just simply start asking my brain some questions.
Step one: âWhat are my options?â
Step two: choose one.

We all know that our thoughts create our feelings. When we realize that we have control over how we feel-we start to think that we should be happy ALL THE TIME.
This is not true. Itâs not true for me, itâs not true for you. See, I believe that being human is better than being happy. Life is 50/50. Pain and Peace are here to stay.
