Join us as we engage in an enlightening conversation with Paul Maiteny, an ecologist, anthropologist, and ecosystemic-transpersonal psychotherapist whose work centers on understanding three core questions:
1. Why are we so cruel to each other?2. How come we are killing off Earth & its species?3. How do we, and how do I, fit into this beautiful Earth?
In this episode, we tackle a variety of pressing topics in an attempt to answer these significant questions. Together, we explore humanity's impact on the ecosystem, the paradox of information versus action, and the crucial role of individual choices. We question the efficacy of renewable energy and discuss the “Transpersonalizing” role of humanity. Through our dialogue, we venture into the idea that we are the universe gaining self-awareness and probe whether humanity has the capacity to fundamentally reshape our relationship with the ecosystem. Paul's unique insights guide us towards a paradigm shift, from a quantitative to a qualitative appreciation of life, and encourage each listener to become an agent of transpersonal change.

Do we have an invisible energy body? This episode focuses on the phenomena of phantom limbs and their potential connection to morphogenetic fields— body-shaping energy fields. Conventional science often dismisses phantom experiences as mere brain-induced illusions, but this explanation falls short when confronted with the complexities of the phenomenon.
Rupert Sheldrake's theory of morphogenetic fields proposes that there are invisible fields that shape the development and behavior of organisms, providing a blueprint for their form and function.
We delve into morphogenetic fields as an alternative explanation to phantom limbs and probe some fascinating questions: Why does anesthesia induce phantom limbs? How do children without limbs experience phantom sensations? Why can’t we find a physical cause of phantom limbs?
I’ll discuss Sheldrake's groundbreaking Phantom Limb experiment, which aims to detect the energy associated with phantom limbs, presenting a pivotal step towards opening up exciting avenues for groundbreaking research.
We'll also contemplate the regenerative powers found in nature, wondering if we can harness them for advancements in human healing. As we wrap up the episode, the emphasis is on keeping an open mind to these unconventional yet riveting theories. They could significantly reshape our understanding of the mind, body, and human potential.

Marjorie Woollacott, Ph.D shares her research into evidence that bridges the gap between hard science and mysticism. Woollacott discusses the non-material aspects of our universe, including consciousness and the role it plays in our understanding of reality. Topics include near-death experiences, the transformational power of psilocybin (magic mushroom) experiences, the placebo effect, energy healing, and the limitations of language to describe mystical or peak experiences.

Did you know that a profound shift in awareness occurs for many astronauts when they see the earth from space? This phenomenon is called The Overview Effect and it offers comparable results to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and nature-based experiences in promoting transcendence and well-being.
Dr. Annahita Nezami is developing a virtual reality (VR) experience that seeks to bring the cognitive shift experienced by astronauts to a wider audience via positive technologies.
I talk to Annahita about her doctoral research, in which she interviewed 7 NASA astronauts, and about her current work with developing a virtual reality experience of The Overview Effect.

What is synchronicity and is there more to it than just coincidence? Bethany Butzer discusses her research, including potential explanations for how synchronicities work, beyond them being due to random chance. Could synchronicities point toward the fundamental nature of consciousness? Do they reveal the interconnectedness that underlies everything?
We also discuss Bethany's research into bias in the scientific community towards parapsychology research (aka anomalous cognition), which includes phenomena such as extra sensory perception (ESP), telepathy, precognition, and psychokinesis, which is manipulating something with the power of the mind.
