Captain Andy Hawke, One of those guys that when he shakes your hand his engulfs yours as if you are a Toddler, yet gentle enough not to crush you. Was a very genuine interview in an Old Church setting so the sound is not the best but the story is,

Waqaa! My name is Casey Coupchiak, my Yup’ik name is Ernerculria. It was given to me by my grandma, Mary Coupchiak. I am the daughter of Norman Coupchiak and Greta Horn. Granddaughter of William “Willie” and Mary Coupchiak on my father’s side. Ed Glotfelty and Mary Hanson on my mother’s. My family has been fishing Bristol Bay for millennia and I am lucky enough to have inherited my Grandfather, Willie’s commercial drift permit. I have been fishing it since I was 18 and couldn’t imagine spending my summers anywhere else than on a drift boat in Bristol Bay! I recently moved back to Alaska to get more involved in Alaska’s fisheries, work towards co-management of our fisheries with Indigenous peoples, and finish a BBA in Marketing from the University of Alaska - Anchorage. When I’m not fishing, I direct market a small amount of my catch. I love to snowboard, hike, mountain bike, and anything outdoors. Quyana Mark for having me and listeners for listening!

Brad Angasan was born and raised in the remote Alaska fishing village of South Naknek in Bristol Bay. Brad has a lifetime of experience commercial fishing for wild sockeye salmon. His experience ranges from set netting on South Naknek beach as a child with his grandparents, fishing with his father on cannery owned drift boats, to owning and operating his own state of the art fishing vessel along with his wife and son on the FV Novarupta. He is a 30 year captain. Brad is a staunch advocate for fisheries resource management and food security for traditional use foods. Brad is married to Ronalda and has 5 children, a grand daughter and 2 dogs. He winters in Anchorage, AK. This Episode brought to you By: https://www.alaskanbeer.com/

I was never able to record Chuck during his lifetime so over the course of a couple years I did a series of interviews with some of his closest friends in order to share some of the stories. Charles Hardin Bundrant was born on January 31, 1942, in Lawrenceburg Tennessee. He graduated from North High School, Evansville, Indiana, in 1960. He spent a short time at Middle Tennessee State University, before dropping out and moving to Alaska. You can read his story in some of his own words by Reading Catching a Deckload of Dreams https://www.amazon.com/Catching-Deckload-Dreams-Bundrant-Seafoods/dp/1933245344
