This week weāre recapping the first 10 interviews of Game Dev Deconstructed. It seems not that long ago I had the idea for making a gamedev podcast where I could sit down with other game developers and talk about the industry. In the short time of doing this Iāve already meet some awesome people, and learned a lot about other's creative process and what drives them. So letās get started!
We'll be back soon with new episodes so stay tuned to our Twitter or Facebook for updates on that. Thank you for listening!

This week weāre coming to you live from a panel discussion at Dallas Startup Week. The panel, titled Indie Game Studio Founders, features myself and Amir Rajan along with moderators Chirag Gupta and Courtney Garza.
In this episode, Amir and I discuss how we got started coding, our influences, plans for the future, and a lot more. Iām excited for you all to hear from Amir. He is the creator of the iOS version of A Dark Room which hit number 1 in the app store. The game was originally created by Michael Townsend, and Amir reached out to him during a work subaticle asking if heād be interested in having A Dark Room enhananced and ported to iOS. Amir covers the details of their deal in the talk which youāll hear in a bit. Iāve learned a lot from him over many coffees these past 3 or 4 years, and Iām glad to be bringing some of that to you today.

Welcome to GDD! Today we are trying something different ā I asked the Indie Game Chat Facebook group "Why Do You Make Games?" 140 game developers answered, and I hope you enjoy hearing the results. To summarize everyone's answer into one statement it would be:
"I am passionate about making games because I get to express myself creatively while solving interested problems resulting in the creation of worlds and telling of interactive stories that connect with people ā all while having fun, pursuing financial freedom, and sharing the joy I experienced playing games."
