  • Dorothy Eady, better known as Om Setti was a badass. She was an Egyptologist, expert on the Temple of Seti I, proponent of Egyptian independence ... and the reincarnation of an ancient priestess? Join us on the streets of London and the pyramids of Egypt as Liv tells us the story of Om Setti and Benetreshyt.

  • Often, stories are how we make sense of the world. Sometimes the world helps us make sense of stories. Or serves as a reminder. This is the case for the Witch's Leg, a large oak tree standing in the middle of the ruins of St Mary's church hidden within the forest. According to legend, it is a defiant remnant of an alleged witch buried there during the witch trials in England. But the oak may not be the only remnant of the departed...

  • It's Olympics time again, and this time there's been quite a scene at the Seine. Which reminded us of a story we have been meaning to tell for a long time, that of L'Inconnue de la Seine (The Unknown Woman of the Seine). Even though her body allegedly washed up on the shores of the Seine more than 100 years ago, you'd almost certainly recognise her. You've probably even kissed her. You might even have called her by her current name- Resusi Anne. And if you haven't already, it's probably time to put a name to that face. Or at the very least, a story.

  • The Ancient Ram Inn is the oldest building in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. It's also very haunted. The most haunted, some say. There's certainly a lot of ghosts. As former resident and caretaker John Humphies said, it's 'a lot for one room'.

Please note this episode has a fair number of content warnings, which we list before we begin telling the story. They include murder, child murder, ritual sacrifice, death of animals, and sexual assault. If this isn't your thing, we have other lighter episodes for you to enjoy.

  • This episode is a little chaotic folks. Liv had done this research a while back and kind of forgot where she was going with the story, Jess' recording program crashed and Liv tried something different with the mic (spoiler alert it didn't work). If you're still with us after all of that, welcome to the crowded, dark, dense and haunted street of Mary King's Close. Stretching over several layers, and roofed in by the City Chambers above, the Close has reportedly been haunted since a devastating plague outbreak in 1645.

A mischevious, pernickety fixture of households known for helping out at night - or if you'd upset them - making a mess, brownies prove to be self-confident queens. • Once upon a time, around the 16th century, an ominous land known as 'The Isle of Demons' was found on maps. And then it disappeared. This raised questions. Which raised more questions. Where did it go? Why did it go? What was the original Zealand? And does Germany exist? Join us as we attempt to answer some of these questions, mispronounce things, and spread some gossip from the 1500s.

  • It's just turned 2024, and there are many ways to celebrate the New Year. For example, in Greenland you might dress up as a mitaartoq for Mitaarfik and scare your neighbours for treats. You could also dance. That works too. Whichever you choose, we hope you enjoy our little exploration of a somewhat creepy but definitely cosy Inuit tradition.
