As human its normal for us to compare ourselves, but what we can really do about it is that recognize if its being toxic to us and if so work on it. Life is a compilation of choices we make. So when you catch yourself comparing here too you're presented with a choice.
Whether you're gonna continue doing it, thinking about it, making yourself feel uncomfortable which questions your worth
or
whether you're gonna look away and focus on yourself and your own journey instead.
Ive been struggling with self comparison for some time now and been working on it, these are some reminders and tips which used to help me battling toxic self comparison. ( i wont say that ive overcome it completely its a constant battle like any other thing but the below tips amd reminders has helped me with it.)
- Reminding myself that each one is created different and the journey we are meant to walk is unique.
- Defining what success in life means to me.
- Focusing on myself and and my journey. And reminding myself of the progress I've made in it.
- Asking myself "how i can be a better person than i was yesterday" and working on it.
