Some time ago, we discussed the chilling urban legend of The Black-Eyed Kids. Recently, we revisited this topic in our Camp Lejeune episode due to reports from individuals who claimed to have spotted what they referred to as “black-eyed kids” in the vicinity of the military base. Intrigued by the increasing number of similar stories circulating on social media, we felt it was appropriate to further explore this phenomenon. This time, however, we broadened our episode to include encounters with “black-eyed people” of all ages, not just children.
These encounters have allegedly taken place in various locations, such as grocery stores, late-night gas stations, and other isolated and desolate areas, including individuals’ own doorsteps. Additionally, we delved into unsettling encounters with individuals who exhibited peculiar behavior. Megan shares three particularly disturbing incidents that have left a lasting impression on her.

In the city of Jacksonville, North Carolina, lies a military base with a dark and spooky past. Camp Lejeune, established in 1941, has witnessed more than just military maneuvers and drills. Beneath the vile of disinclined routines and military procedures it seems to have opened a shadowy realm where the veil between this world and the next rolls thin.
In this episode we dive into a multitude of different encounters including some of our own. Prior to this episode we read over 3,000 encounter stories which covered a wide and various span of paranormal encounters. One of the most prevalent stories revolves around experiencing what is believed to be the Wendigo. Deep within the forests of Camp Lejeune, soldiers have reported hearing weird cries that echo through the night. Sightings of gnomes have also been reported. Finally we dive into the strange lights that are associated with the gnomes and our own encounter with strange light dancing across the New River’s surface.
And finally, we discuss the phantom watchman. Past soldiers, and spirits. Silhouettes that glide silently among the living. And to conclude we discuss our own theories as well as what could possibly be providing a source for all this paranormal activity and we try to finally answer what happened on the land before the base?

In this we dive into two infamous battlefields known as Gettysburg Battlefield and Waterloo battlefield. We discuss the mysteries that surround these historic sites and explore some of the experiences of visitors including full bodies apparitions, phantom cannon fire, sadness and a heavy feeling, phantom smells and so much more. We ask questions and discuss the residual energy still trapped there as well as restless spirits. We discuss how burials and bodies after battles and wars were handled and how that could possibly influence why certain spirits are still haunting the Gettysburg grounds and other battlefields. Isaac concludes the episode by telling the story of an island used in World War 2 where soldiers met their demise not by the hands of the enemies, but the mouths of crocodiles and it's said that people can hear the screams of the men that lost their lives that day.
SMALL DISCLAIMER: There is a part of the episode where Megan is talking about a World War 2 story, and she meant to say World War 1. So please disregard the part of her saying World War 2. The story took place in World War 1.

Have you ever seen an entity with a strange Cheshire Cat-like grin? After having this experience, ourselves, we decided to dig deeper to see if there was any specific documentation about this entity. While an urban legend about a Grinner Man existed, it wasn't the same. So, we took to forums and places on the internet where people discussed their personal encounter stories, and sure enough this has been experienced more often than we expected. During this episode, we talk about the time we witnessed one helping out on a case, as well as personal encounters with different entities we've seen since diving more into the paranormal and investigating. Among them was an entity seen in Megan's dream. A strange old woman brushing an eyeless porcelain doll's hair. While this episode gets quite weird, it is definitely one that leaves you scratching your head.

In this episode of Hidden in The Shadows we dive into the idea of ancient civilizations and paranormal encounters. It's easy to think that investigating the paranormal and interacting with it was a more recent thing however the more research we did the more we found out that interacting and experiencing the paranormal spanned further back. The original spark of being intrigued by this concept started when we stumbled upon a video about a 3500-year-old Babylonian Clay tablet housed in The British Museum that supposedly depicts the first ever description of a ghost as well as how to handle an exorcism. Interacting with the other side has been a fascinated since the dawn of time. Dive into the unknown with us as we unravel some theories, conjure our own and dive into some stories and locations that span centuries.
