A continuation of Episode 162, Josh is joined by guest co-host David Atwell to discuss Star Wars Infinities. In this extra content, David and Josh take the conceit of the Infinities stories and apply them to the Prequel and Sequel trilogies. What if Qui-Gon hadn't died at the end of The Phantom Menace? What if Order 66 fails in Revenge of the Sith and the Jedi prevail over Palpatine/Sidious? What If the Holdo Maneuver kills Kylo? All these are possible situations we cover in this episode. Hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed coming up with the scenarios.

We're back! After COVID-19 made recording nearly impossible to record, we've finally managed to right the ship. Home One is back up and running but with a temporary co-pilot. Josh is joined by his fellow Reel World Theology staffer, David Atwell, to discuss Star Wars: Infinities. This Legends series from Dark Horse posits an alternate version of each original trilogy movie. We discuss the surprises, the intriguing new realities built, and how awesome Yoda is in these stories. It’s finally real! After saying we’ve done it on multiple occasions, only to be proven wrong, we’ve actually recorded a Star Wars Film School on Miyazaki! For those who don’t know much about the creative head of Studio Ghibli, we introduce the man and his movies before diving in. Mostly spent talking new canon, we discuss Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance, and The Force Awakens. It also leads us into the possible different path The Rise of Skywalker could have taken given Rey’s connections to one particular Miyazaki movie. It’s an episode we are really proud of so we hope you enjoy it!

It’s a real “hush-hush” kinda episode this week as we discuss some video game rumors and try to put out the already growing fires of retcon controversy surrounding The Rise of Skywalker novelization. Everyone needs to calm down and enjoy Star Wars, so that’s what we do!

As Blaine always tells his students, it’s always best to turn in your homework late than not at all. Even though Blaine was sick and had the due date extended, we are still late to the party with our study guide for all you The Clone Wars newbies. It’s more of a cram session now, but still, a helpful episode, especially if you have never seen the show and wondering what it’s all about. Plus, Blaine panders to our super-fan, Blake, and Josh really, really, really, really, really, really likes what Blaine has to say.

Blaine has finally got his voice back and that means we’re back to regularly scheduled programming! We discuss the recent reveal of Project Luminous and what has us the most excited from this new era of Star Wars. It’s an all-literary episode that has these two novel nerds beyond excited.

Before we discussed the Star Wars Resistance finale in our last episode, Josh asked Brian and Joe to share some of their thoughts about the first episode of Season 7 of The Clone Wars. Enjoy this short, extra episode and keep listening for more discussions of Season 7 of The Clone Wars and possibly some other guests joining us to talk about it!

In the absence of a sick, voice-less Blaine, Josh enlists the help of Joe Corroney and Brian Miller to discuss the final episodes of Star Wars Resistance for our final Resistance Report. After giving Joe and Brian a chance to give their overall impressions of the show, specifically Season 2, we discuss how Resistance wrapped up, what made it particularly resonant as a Star Wars story, and what was truly excellent about it’s short, two-season run. Plus, Josh is pushed into an uncomfortable position and Joe unveils the origins of Opeepit’s species. Enjoy our discussion of a show we hope gives its characters a new life somewhere else in Star Wars!

Recent footage has surfaced rumored to be from the defunct Star Wars: Underworld TV show Lucasfilm was developing in the mid-to-late-2000’s. Germain Lussier writes an article for iO9 breaking down the footage and essentially confirms its authenticity. We discuss the footage, Lussier’s article, and what are thoughts are on the footage and behind-the-scenes production we get to see. Plus, Josh shares a little bit about the Google Doc attached to the footage which goes deep into the history of the production and how it did expand on canonical content.

Some of our favorite books to read are the post-movie Visual Dictionaries. Pablo Hidalgo’s latest contribution does not disappoint and sheds a lot of light on a movie we are still coming to grips with. We discuss some of the important elements that help us parse out The Rise of Skywalker, as well as plucking out our favorite parts highlighting what we loved about the movie. We manage to keep it pretty brief considering the large amount in the book by sharing three items each and then some final thoughts. Enjoy!

Our news show is back, but we’re discussing some disappointing news in the Star Wars world. Don’t worry, it’s not that bad, but there are definitely some changes to some things we love and were anticipating in 2020. Blaine keeps us on task and Josh takes the blue-theme a little too far. We will be back with news every week for the foreseeable future, or at least until more TV shows come out. Enjoy!

One of the few traditions on our show is to have Chad Hopkins from The Cinescope Podcast on to talk new movie soundtracks with us. The final chapter of the Skywalker saga is no exception and Chad is back to discuss John Williams’ final foray into a galaxy far, far away! We discuss our favorite pieces of music, the thematic relationship between Kylo and Rey’s themes, as well as digging down into some of the more interesting pieces of music. Plus, we lock Chad in for another episode in the future and have some fun with who we think would make great composers in the Star Wars going forward. Enjoy this episode and Chad’s expertise.

The final episode of Season One of The Mandalorian means we have to pull out all the stops! We invite on previous interview guest, JR Forasteros, and avid non-Star wars fan but a fan of us, Blake Collier, to discuss the season finale. We talk about what we liked about the episode, how the story was told in season one, and a little bit of speculation on season two and beyond. Also, we dive a bit into some Mandalorian lore to educate JR and Blake on the surprise ending. A very exciting episode with some very fun guests!

The holiday logjam continues to be cleared as we discuss the next four episodes of Star Wars Resistance! Diving right in with episode 6, “From Beneath”, we then get into an episode tying right into The Rise of Skywalker, “Relic Raisers”. Then the plot thickens as a new character pops up with an interesting history in “Rendezvous Point”, and last, but certainly not least, we meet a slimy Hutt looking to profit from the Colossus crew’s need in “The Voxx Vortex 5000”. We hope you enjoy our discussion of these four episodes of this great show!

Blaine and Josh welcome back Gabe Green from the Franchise Fatigue Podcast and Josh Mesker from The Outer Rim Star Wars Facebook Group to discuss the penultimate episode of Season One. The main characters of the show are all united for this episode full of risk and possible reward. We talk about what this episode could mean for the finale, what lies ahead for the story arc of “The Child”, as well as our favorite moments including Rebels callbacks and Breaking Bad reunions. This high-quality episode is well worth the hour we spent discussing it and we hope it leaves you ready for the season finale!

It’s just the two of us as we discuss, quite possibly, the best episode of the season, so far. Rick Famuyiwa is back in the director’s chair for this episode where the Mandalorian has to reunite with old partners for a risky job breaking out a prisoner from a New Republic prison ship. We talk about the fabulous direction in this episode by Famuyiwa, as well as the cavalcade of guests stars both familiar and new to the Star Wars universe. Enjoy our guestless roundtable episode and our review of “The Prisoner”!

The end of the Skywalker saga has arrived with The Rise of Skywalker! We sit down after our initial viewings and share our first reactions. We talk about if we actually liked the movie—spoiler alert, we did—and then we discuss some of the things we didn’t like before we finish talking about what we love. As our previous “First Reaction” episodes have been, it’s a little rambling and easy-going, but we still dive into some details of the movie and some of the filmmaking choices. We still have plenty to say so tune in later this weekend for a big review!
A big warning, there be spoilers ahead! DO NOT listen to this episode if you do not want to be spoiled before seeing The Rise of Skywalker. You have been warned.

Season 1, Episode 5 of The Mandalorian returns to a familiar location as “Mando” and the “The Child” stop for fuel and repairs. We invite Star Wars artist Joe Corroney on the show to discuss the positive fan service of this episode, the twists and turns the Mandalorian encounters while tracking down a quarry, as well as our favorite moments harkening back to everything from animated shows to movies. Plus, Joe shares some mind-blowing speculation about the mysterious final moment of this episode we think you will like as much as we did.
