Claire Duck is an elite distance runner who has represented Great Britain on multiple occasions as well as captaining the GB Team at the world cross country championships.
I wanted to hear more about her inspiring journey to the heights of British running, including the accident, on a day in 2015, that put Claire in hospital, and so nearly, could have finished it all.

At the age of 80, Richard Brisley took up running.
I found myself in Richard's living room to find out what made him begin running at 80 years old. Richard has a unique perspective - we talk about his running highlights, the accident that stopped him running for a while, and his memories of World War 2.
As the oldest guest to ever appear on JOG ON, this conversation was a real privilege. Richard demonstrates that later life doesn’t have to always be done sitting down or even walking.
We'd be grateful if you could recommend the JOG ON Podcast to a running friend to help us grow.

In 2019 Anya Culling ran a 4:34 marathon. A few years later, she was being selected to run for England.
Anya's improvement in the past few years has been staggering, so I wanted to learn more about her journey.
We discussed some of Anya's career highlights so far, as well as the struggles and pressure that can come with performing at the highest level.

Life was going well for Adam Bevington, until, in his mid 30’s, something went very wrong. Struck down with pain, and climbing towards 140kg (22 stone) in weight, Adam was struggling to walk and no one could understand what was happening to him. This is an incredible comeback story to running.

After a fairly sedentary lifestyle of smoking and very little exercise, at the age of 40, Mark Symes began running.
Soon realising that he possessed an ability to run fast, he focussed on the track, and eventually found himself competing in both European and World Masters Championships in the often turbulent 800 and 1500 metre finals.
I sat down with Mark at his home in Southern England, to discuss his journey from 40 to now and how great running in later life is something that we can all aspire to.

Winner of English Schools' Woody Jerome sat down with me to talk about his journey after early success whilst still young. We discussed the pressures that can come with achieving so much so quickly and why he still continues with his running when so many peers and friends have dropped away. Woody will be heading to America to train in the coming years, and this was a chance to have a conversation before he leaves England to chase the dream of running in the mountains.

A recent stint of 10 days in Font Romeu saw me training at altitudes of 1,400-1,900 metres. But is just 10 days enough to see any changes in one's running? I spoke with University Professor Charlie Pedlar about the effects of altitude training for a runner.
