After hearing about NXIVM on Kate Casey's podcast and watching the documentary The Vow, I realized something shocking: years earlier, I had attended a NXIVM recruitment event and was personally encouraged to join by people featured in the documentary.
In this episode, I share my firsthand experience with the recruitment process, how NXIVM was marketed as a personal development and business coaching program, and the red flags that ultimately stopped me from signing up.
I also break down the history of NXIVM, Keith Raniere, the Executive Success Programs (ESP), the infamous sash ranking system, V-Week, DOS, and how one of the world's most notorious cults managed to attract intelligent, successful, and educated people from all walks of life.
We'll talk about The Vow, Sarah Edmondson's role in both promoting and later exposing the organization, and the surreal experience of watching the documentary only to recognize people I knew in the footage.
This is the story of how I almost got recruited into NXIVM—and why looking back, being left out may have been the best thing that ever happened to me.

Welcome back to Low-Key Obsessed!
This week, I'm sharing everything I've been watching lately—from reality TV drama and new Bravo obsessions to Netflix documentaries that completely pulled me in.
I'm talking about Calabasas Confidential and why I almost gave up on it before getting totally hooked, my thoughts on the new Real Housewives of Rhode Island, whether Love Island USA is worth the hype this season, and two Netflix documentaries that left me with a lot to think about: The Murder of Rachel Nickell and Michael Jackson: The Verdict.
This isn't a spoiler-filled recap episode. Think of it as a coffee chat where we're catching up on what's worth watching, what's not, the characters driving me crazy, and the moments I can't stop talking about.
Plus, I'm sharing a little owner-builder lake house update because I've been spending my week covered in primer and painting an entire house.
Grab a coffee and let's get into what I'm watching this week.
Shows discussed:
• Calabasas Confidential (Netflix)
• Love Island USA Season 8
• The Real Housewives of Rhode Island
• The Murder of Rachel Nickell (Netflix)
• Michael Jackson: The Verdict (Netflix) -

The Bravo universe is in full detective mode, and honestly... so am I.
This week I'm breaking down Summer House Reunion Part 2 and In The City Episode 3, and the way these episodes line up is absolutely wild.
We're diving into the Amanda, West, Ciara and Kyle scandal, the timeline questions that fans can't stop talking about, Bravo's editing choices, the friendship betrayals, the "statement theory" making the rounds online, and all the moments that had me questioning everything.
Was Amanda already with West during those confessionals? Why did Amanda push so hard for the separation statement? Is West actually serious about Amanda, or is he chasing fame? And why are viewers suddenly looking at Kyle in a completely different light?
This episode is part recap, part timeline investigation, and part me spiraling down a Bravo rabbit hole.
Let's get into it.
