Johnson Kombian's name has become synonymous with daring prison breaks in Ghana. His escapes, while captivating the public, raised a crucial question: is Kombian an extraordinarily lucky fugitive or a testament to his own cunning and talent? The answer, like Kombian himself, seems to elude easy categorization.
This week on #MayhemPodcast, John-Andrew Addo brings into the spotlight Johnson Kombian and his exploits.
On the surface, luck appears to play a significant role. His escape attempts often involve multiple tries, with the foiled 2016 Nsawam Prison break highlighting the element of chance.
Kombian's first successful escape reportedly relied on help from prison staff, showcasing his dependence on external factors beyond his control. Even his successful escapes haven't guaranteed permanent freedom, with authorities recapturing him multiple times.
So, is Johnson Kombian just lucky, or is he a talented escape artist? Perhaps the answer lies not in absolutes, but in the captivating dance between talent and circumstance that defines his remarkable, and ongoing, story.

This week on #MayhemPodcast, John-Andrew Addo brings into the spotlight Ataa Ayi and his exploits.
Ataa Ayi's exploits were as audacious as they were diverse. Dr. Beckley is brought into focus by John-Andrew Addo as he takes us down the tales of bones, skulls and sexual misconduct.
Dr. Sri Yogi Ram Beckley is a controversial figure who has been accused of being a serial fraudster and cult leader. He is the founder of the Ascended Masters Teachings, a New Age religious group that has been criticized for its teachings on reincarnation, karma, and the nature of reality. Beckley has also been accused of running a pyramid scheme and using his position of power to manipulate and exploit his followers.
Beckley's background is shrouded in mystery. He claims to have been born in India and to have received mystical teachings from various masters, including the Dalai Lama and the Mahatma Gandhi. However, there is no evidence to support these claims.
Beckley first emerged in the public eye in the 1970s, when he began teaching his Ascended Masters Teachings. The group quickly gained a following, and Beckley was hailed as a spiritual leader.
