  • It has been my honor and privilege to share the practice of breath and meditation with you. This journey started in 2020 as a way to offer support to others during Covid. After 169 episodes and over 11,000 downloads, I am concluding this podcast. I thank all of you who have listened, shared and downloaded over these years.   • One of my favorite Orin quotes ever: “Be the leader. Dare to be wise!” Here we are coming to the culmination of our work over the last number of weeks, being our wise, higher self. We have been breathing through a number of steps that have taught us to be in the center of our own lives, compassionate and open, wise and loving. We are all these things toward ourselves first, then opening to share our truth and true being with others. We breathe as our higher self, an immediate way to connect to our truth and be in our center.

  • From Orin: “Your mind puts out a powerful broadcast of energy.” He goes on to tell us that our inner dialogue is important, as it determines the events people and objects that we attract. This week we use our minds to create higher energy language around our bodies, ourselves and those around us. Words matter. Some words have higher energy, for instance, love has higher frequency than like. Our practice today helps us let go of old out-dated thoughts and beliefs, replacing them with higher words such as peace, hope, harmony, well-being, joy, kindness, compassion, beauty. We learn about a fun exercise we can do anywhere and any time, where we think of a high-energy word for each letter of the alphabet: Abundance, Beauty, Clarity, Devotion, Enthusiasm, Freedom, Growth and so on. Try it!

  • Your intuition is part of your sensory system. Through your intuition, you hear inner guidance from your Soul. In this practice, we explore all the ways intuition can be received by us: through our third eye, through our hearts, and through our gut. All these parts of our sensing ability can inform us of higher guidance, information and support. We use our breath to enliven our sense of intuition, making it more available and present for us. We have a deep encounter with our Soul, feeling the loving embrace of this great beingness that is our true self.

  • This week we update our pranayama skills with a joy-filled full practice. We do a few breaths we haven’t done together in a while, filling our whole field with LIGHT. We begin with drawing silver light into our spinal cord and nervous system, illuminating us from within. We proceed on to the full practice, adding in the sound of healing for our Heart. The energetic practice clears and cleanses all our bodies, physical, emotional, mental and aligns them with the etheric energy body. We emerge illuminated and filled with zest!

  • Greetings and welcome. When we embark upon a spiritual path, at some point we come to unconditional love. This is because unconditional love is the most powerful energy in the Universe and we are made of it. We can learn to radiate this amazing light to all who we encounter, and to the world. Orin tells us that unconditional love is when we have our hearts open all the time. To do this we let go of expectations of others, letting them be exactly as they are. While this love is infinitely abundant, it can take some practice to be this love in our lives. This episode gives us a chance to practice this love, becoming a beacon of love for all. We begin with ourselves.

  • We could all use some peace these days. In this chapter, Orin says, “You can assist humanity in achieving peace by evolving your thoughts.” Our thoughts contribute to mass consciousness. We’ve all felt thrown about by constant bad news, but we don’t have to stay in that place. Through our breath and by evolving our thoughts with Light, we can move away from repeating lower energy thoughts. Thoughts are a type of action. In this episode, we learn how to become transparent to lower thoughts, how to rise in light and to connect to others on the inner planes. There we receive seeds of light that assist humanity in bringing about the highest and best for all.

  • Our central idea this week is: “The more you can view yourself from a higher perspective the more accurately you are seeing who you are.” This quote from Chapter 7 of Personal Power Through Awareness by Sanaya Roman is our guidestar. We learn to use light and awareness to first understand who we think we are, then to open to who we truly are. Using this light conversation, we develop new ideas and beliefs that uplift us, nourish us and open us to the freedom of being alive in the now.

  • We dive deep into our own energy field in this chapter, making a commitment to listen deeply to our feelings, and inner guidance from moment to moment, acting upon what is right for you in the present. We do a short breath practice then play with some exercises Orin shares in this chapter. Learning to view things from the perspective of another person, or our pets, or even the sun or a tree. These expansions of ourselves into the world of another helps us create a compassionate field of light, even for those we find difficult. We end with breathing into our hearts and allowing the light of compassion to find us and fill us.

  • A gentle breath exploration brings us into a clear knowing of our own energy. From this knowing we are able to know more reliably how the energy of others is affecting us. We can use the breath to bring us into alignment with our own inner knowing, and use it to clear energy that is not in harmony with ours.

    We can take this breath awareness out into our day, using it any time we need to clear, cleanse and realign with ourselves.

    Orin also shares clear techniques about how to deal with doubts: self-doubt about our ability to use our intuition or inner knowing, or doubts brought on by false ideas or beliefs learned from others. Again using our breath, we connect with our mental body, where these beliefs and doubtful thoughts reside. We learn to recognize the deeper information contained in these doubts and how to release them.

    We end our light-hearted meditation with a heart centered breath.

  • Chapter Three: Directing the Unseen Energies Around You

    Energy is everywhere, Energy is everything. Everything we encounter, perceive and interact with is made of patterns of energy. Even you.

    Being able to perceive what comes to you as energy from other people, from the natural world or from anything is a skill you can learn.

    You are in a vast field of interacting flows and energies. You are the field and the field is you. You cannot be separate from the field. Nothing exists separately, everything is intertwined and interconnected.

    We are interwoven into the fabric of the Universe.

    You are a Magnificent energy-sensing Being. you use your 5 senses to become aware of energy, your mental body or thoughts, you emotions, your physical sensations are all ways you are sensing energy right now. You can learn to use your focus to direct your sensing through any of these capacities.

    Skill One: Observe. Some key features that we practice are: Intention, Playfulness, Imagination. Awareness of the quality of energy.

    We use symbols from our Higher Self to shift energy.

  • Chapter Two: Recognizing the Energy Around You

    This week we dive into the book, Personal Power Through Awareness. In this early chapter, we learn energy makes up everything around us and we can learn to sense that energy. In order to be able to sense energy and work with it, we cultivate a relaxed stance in the world. Orin offers the technique of making your mind go blank, or turn it into a white screen, in order to reset your energy if you are in a distressing situation or encounter feelings you would like to change. We practice using our imagination to visualize a rose, to recognize we already have the skill we need to begin working with energy.

  • Season Seven!

    After 3 years and over 150 episodes of Miriam's Meditations, it feels like a good time to do something new. For the next several weeks, I'm going to be teaching from this book:
