Episode 21 - Smile 2
On this weekâs car ride home, we try not to smile too much at yet another horror film, Smile 2. Naomi Scott gets a ton of respect from Tina and Stratis for her lead role in this fast-paced film. Stratis learns that horror movies can be multifaceted, who knew? Tina does a deep dive into demonic possession and ends up worrying about all the tweens who got infected. If youâre ready for blood, guts, and smiles, grab a Voss water bottle as we steer clear of the demons on the drive back to safety.

Episode 20 - Megalopolis
On this weekâs car ride home, we visit the alternative world of New Rome, created by legendary Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola. The tables are turned and Stratis is the introspective movie critic while Tina is the curmudgeonly old man. Stratis gets lost in the film's âvibesâ (in between short naps), while Tina thought it would have been a much better movie if sheâd imbibed a few Dirty Shirley cocktails beforehand. She also finds a way to make a comparison between her favorite teenage TV series, One Tree Hill, and Coppolaâs artistic creation. Episode 19 - Joker: Folie Ă Deux
On this weekâs car ride home, we completely disagree on whether this Joaquin Phoenix/Lady Gaga Joker film is a deeply emotional tour-de-force or just a hack film. Stratis gets philosophical when he says âTruth is whatever the movie does to you,â and Tina goes off on a cigarette-smoke-and-lighting tangent. Episode 18 - Saturday Night
On this week’s car ride home, Saturday Night allows Stratis to relive his youth through the lens of a favorite late-night show that drove ’70s popular culture – Saturday Night Live. On the other hand, Tina is forced to endure a lackluster biopic that she compares to a superhero movie. Comedic genius George Carlin is poorly impersonated by Stratis as he gives a shoutout to a childhood friend. If you’re of a certain age and want to take a ride back to late-night New York City, hop in and give this episode a listen.

Episode 17 - The Substance
On this weekâs car ride home, we debate whether The Substance is a masterpiece or a monstrosity, and we both have strong opinions on which one it is. Stratis wants to know why his daughter took him to a movie with so much female nudity, while Tina was just enjoying the vibes. Somehow we go off on a tangent about the cars in the movie, and Tina finds a way to make the connection between aging actors and vintage vehicles. Episode 16 - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
On this weekâs car ride home, we talk about whether you can bring a demon back from the great beyond, and if you can, would he still be funny. Stratis starts off by wanting to know why they ruined his beloved movie from the â80s, and Tina is obsessing about the relationship between Lydia (Winona Ryder) and Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton). Both of us like Bob, the shrunken-head guy, and Tim Burton's use of old-school animation. We wrap this episode up with our first email from a listener! He tries to set us straight on the Marvel Universe, but weâre not sure if he succeeded. Come with us for the ride, just donât say âhisâ name.

Episode 14 - Bad Boys: Ride or Die
On this week’s car ride home, we try to figure out what you can learn about a romantic relationship by pulling out your fingernails, then we see if Will Smith and Martin Lawrence can single-handedly take down the entire narco/government/police state. We both thought every actor in this movie was in their own separate, very different movie. Was it a serious cop film or a rom com or maybe a buddy comedy flick? We don’t know, but maybe you can decide. So hop into our crazy-fast pursuit car and let’s RIDE (or Die). -
Episode 13 - Alien
This week we ditch the car for a walk around the block as we delve into the classic sci-fi horror film Alien (1979). Along for this walk is Tina’s chihuahua, Frankie, who tries to eat too much grass. This was Tina’s first viewing of the classic film, although she has fond memories of Disney’s Great Movie Ride in Orlando, where Sigourney Weaver’s animatronic robot leaves a lasting impression. Stratis has some serious science issues with space/time/distance, while Tina isn’t bothered by any of it. Find out if we can avoid all the Alien face huggers and chest bursters on this walk around the block. -
