This episode was previously recorded on Nigeria's 63rd Independence Day(1st October, 2023). On this episode, we got to talking about our shared experiences and relatable moments as kids and teenagers growing up in different parts of Nigeria. From home to school and back, we touched on the ubiquitous influence that this institution has had on us, the love-hate relationship that most of us have felt and still feel. As reluctant adults, we did not dive into discussing adulthood in order not to depress ourselves and our listeners because we take our mental health seriously and we care very much for our listeners' as well. Enjoy listening!!!

On this episode, we discuss a book that is pivotal to our shared love of media. Written by renowned comedian Trevor Noah, Born a Crime came out at time that was perfect enough to spark a shared interest in reading, albeit more of a reminder of mannerism in one person than it was due to its literary brilliance at the time. The book took us through a rollercoaster of emotions from the first time we read it and you can get a glimpse of that in this episode. As this is not a book club, we tried to not give away too many spoilers or do a full review but that does not mean there are no spoilers so just in case you are one for reading descriptions, this should serve as your spoiler warning. Also, we discuss a few topics from the book that might be triggering to some. There are a few discussions on domestic violence and self harm (suicide) so this should also serve as a trigger warning. We had some technical issues with the sound so please bear with us for some of the jagged noise in the later part of the episode. Enjoy listening.
