After 2 years of weekly podcasts, Dr.Robert and Dr. Sam are taking a break from weekly podcasting. We have truly enjoyed our Pawsit journey, and are so thankful to our listeners. We do plan to occasionally broadcast our content on YouTube when important topics come up, but the weekly format will be on hold for the time being.
This is bittersweet for us, as the reason we are shifting our focus is because the MyBalto foundation is growing and we are realizing our original goal of helping animals in need. At this time we need to channel our energy 100% into the success and growth of MyBalto.
Thank you all for your support over the last 2 years. Please continue to follow us on social media!

On this episode of Pawsit Dr. Sam and Dr. Robert discuss the new proposal in Colorado to create "mid-level" veterinary professionals. Prop 129 in Colorado is the proposition that sparked this conversation. In veterinary medicine our technicians operate much like human nurses, and then some. Do we really need to add this new position? Will this solve the problem of access to care, or cause new unintended consequences? Dr. Robert and Dr. Sam have a frank discussion about their concerns with this proposal. Join us to get our perspectives on this important issue!
Also, it is Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and we at MyBalto and the Pawsit podcast would love to send a heart felt shout out to all of the hard working, brilliant and caring veterinary technicians out there! We love you!

On this episode of Pawsit, Dr. Robert and Dr. Sam discuss rehoming pets. They discuss how to know when it is necessary, and what the process may look like. It is never an easy decision, but sometimes the safety and well being of either a human or the animal make it a real necessity.

On today’s episode of Pawsit, Dr. Sam and Dr. Robert are honored to be joined by a legend in the veterinary world, Dr. Terry Fossum. Dr. Fossum is a board certified surgeon, that very literally "wrote the book" on veterinary surgery that has become the text book and book of reference for veterinarians around the world. She is now helping pets in a whole new way through her company Dr. Fossum's Pet care.
Inspired by the needs of her own beloved dog, she went on the search for natural products that could help support him as his elbow dysplasia and arthritis started to rob him of his mobility. She found the products on the market to be plentiful, but lacking the scientific proof of safety and efficacy. Thus, along with her partner, fellow veterinarian Dr. Richard Gebhart, Dr. Fossum's Pet care was born. Take a listen and learn as we start the conversation about CBD in veterinary medicine, along with other products and tools to to support cognitive dysfunction.

On this episode of Pawsit, Dr. Sam and Dr. Robert talk about specialists. Often, people expect that their veterinarian will know absolutely everything about what is going on with their pet. While we strive to know as much as possible, we often need to enlist the help of specialists. In veterinary medicine, just like in human medicine, there are doctors that have specialized training to deal with the more complicated and rare conditions we see in our patients. People are often surprised by this, but they are a great resource for consultations and referrals. So take a listen and learn why our specialists are so special!

On today's episode Dr. Robert and Dr. Sam discuss the return of the house call. While we still see large and mixed animal veterinarians making house calls, it is rare to see your small animal veterinarian making a house call. This is starting to change. Small animal mobile veterinary services are becoming more common. This can really benefit cat owners, owners and pets with mobility problems, as well as busy pet owners struggling to get to the vet. There is such potential to expand access to care! Take a listen to hear what may become available for your pet!
