What do you want to learn? What do you search for? Look no further, today on Podtease your new favorite podcast is Back 2 Basics with host Girish Bali.
Girish is an avid podcaster who is on a quest to elevate the voices of people who are interesting and who have something to say. Girish investigates what drives us to do the things we do. He is about teasing through complex issues and making them simple. Today he talks about the difference between behavior and intelligence. With the suave approach only Girish Bali can provide, you will hear new perspectives and interesting guests on every episode!
In order to have a description of what constitutes intelligent behavior, one must study behavior itself. This type of research is closely tied to that in cognitive psychology and psychophysics. By measuring behavioral responses to different stimuli, one can understand something about how those stimuli are processed.

Are you a podcast addict? Do you love new podcasts? Podtease is the place for you. Start podcasting yourself.
Podcasting is making a resurgence in popularity. The genre of podcasting has been experiencing a sort of renaissance. According to the Intelligencer, the reason podcasts may be growing is that the economics are compelling. Producing an average podcast costs far less than producing a TV show or a radio show (all you really need is a microphone or two, a copy of Audacity or some other editing software, and a cheap hosting service for the audio files themselves).
The magic of podcasting can produce income! Podcast advertising rates on a successful podcast are big enough to pay for the costs many times over. Several top podcasters told me that their CPM (the cost to an advertiser per thousand impressions, a standard ad-industry unit) was between $20 and $45. Compare that to a typical radio CPM (roughly $1 to $18) or network TV ($5 to $20) or even a regular old web ad ($1 to $20), and the podcast wins.

This is a Podtease favorite. Kevin P. Henry is an actor, an activist, a renaissance man who is changing the world with his voice. In this episode Kevin dives deep with author Alexadria Nicole.
This podcast is about finding YOU, understanding YOU, unapologetically being YOU, and actively going after your personal and professional goals. The podcast features interviews and stories that are designed to educate and inspire. Every episode dives deep into compelling stories that need to be heard. From diversity and inclusion to mental health and everything in between Kevin P. Henry will be the guide for greater learning and awareness.
In today's episode, we are listening to one of our favorite activist podcasters. Kevin P. Henry dives deep into stories that affects humanity at its core. Racism, riots, and protests are frequently the headlines in today's news, yet the long-term impact is rarely discussed.
Today, Kevin explores the impact that the national fervor is having on our psyche as humans. Author and motivational speaker Alexandria Nicole break down how we can have tough discussions about race, create unifying and healing spaces, and engage with each other during the Covid pandemic. Alexandria sums it up by saying, "We got to get it together." She also dives into talking about personal growth and chats about her upcoming film project that explores the impact of protests in America. Check out this informative and inspiring interview.
If you want to learn and grow as a human being, All The Way Authentic is a podcast that will give you the tools to have a deeper understanding of the human experience. All The Way Authentic gives a voice to those that have been marginalized. Without understanding another person's experience there is no space to change. The world needs radical change. It starts with you. Welcome to authentic conversations that will challenge the way you think and call you to action. It is time to get authentic.

In today's episode, we are going to understand the difference between coaching and therapy on Podtease. You are going to love this conversation-it is enlightening and powerful. Join the podcasting revolution today!
Listen to the peppy, professional, and our favorite happiness coach, Christy Holt. Christy dives deep into the differentiation between coaching and therapy. Are coaching and therapy the same? We will find out in today’s episode. Christy creates thriving businesses with a feminine flair.
She is all about women discovering their superpowers with purpose and passion. While she is a big fan of men, she knows many women are searching to unleash their inner amazing. Today she chats with Sarah Bruehner who is a therapist, coach and rockstar.
Coaching and therapy both have their own place. Therapists are needed right now in the current climate, and Sarah has a firm understanding of mental health and understands the power of coaching. They are an amazing tool and can be used in collaboration.
The coaching industry allows for not-pathologizing the quality of life. The coaching tool allows one to amplify and build true successes in one’s life. Coaching does not look at the past but gives you the tools to take control of your life and build an unstoppable life.
Therapy digs deep into the past, and allows a client to understand why they do the things they do. Therapy is much needed if you are dealing with mental health issues like depression or anxiety. These two practices can complement each other in a fabulous way.

What do Evel Knievel, Captain America, Kenny Roberts and the Terminator have in common? In 2018 Emma, Michael and myself scored an interview with Gary Davis, the coolest guy you’ve probably never heard of. Gary was inducted into the AMA hall of fame for his career as a racer, daredevil and stuntman.
In 1969 he raced alongside greats like Kenny Roberts and Gary Scott.
In 1972 he beat Evil Knievel’s record by jumping 21 cars. But it wasn’t an ordinary jump. He did it with a a partner, both at the same time and passing each other in mid air only feet apart.
He then became a stuntman in the movies and TV, doing all of Evel’s stunts in Viva Knievel and countless other spots.
Next he became a stunt coordinator and 2nd Unit director on films like Terminator 2, Predator 2, Starsky and Hutch, and Torque.
And in 2018 he was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame.
He is still in the business today, as well as being a collector, a bike builder and all around cool guy. So take a listen and enjoy getting to know about Gary Davis and his amazing life.
With Liza, Miss Emma and Michael.

Show Notes for Cultural Chameleons: Vieques Island, Puerto Rico
In this episode, Rod speaks with an island resident, Carlos Gil Rivera who is deeply rooted in Vieques, Puerto Rico, he believes this small island in the Caribbean, which is part of Puerto Rico, to be the next center for the arts. You'll find his art all over the island, on abandoned buildings, in restaurants, and in a plaza that showcases his works in the town of Isabel Segunda. They discuss past and present trouble in paradise and in contrast, all the beauty that makes it worthwhile to visit and reside in a place like Vieques. They review some of the best places to see on a visit to the island. Come listen like a local and learn about Vieques, Puerto Rico.
According To DiscoverPuertoRico.com: The stunning island of Vieques, just six miles off the coast, is home to a pristine wildlife refuge and the world's brightest bioluminescent bay.
As the biggest of the islands sometimes referred to as the Spanish Virgin Islands, Vieques lies six miles southeast of the Puerto Rico mainland. The Puerto Rican poet Luis Llorens Torres dubbed it la Isla Nena (“Little Girl Island”), alluding to its perception as Puerto Rico’s little sister.
Vieques offers breathtaking scenery, unparalleled beauty, unexplored spaces, and laid-back experiences. The trade winds that blow directly over the island also provide a perfectly tropical marine climate with minimal temperature fluctuations.
Reaching Vieques can be done by air or sea. The fastest way is to catch a small plane departing from either SJU or Isla Grande airports (tickets range from $60–$90 per trip), and there is also a ferry that departs from the town of Ceiba (for $3-$5 and about 40 minutes from SJU airport).
Don't forget to subscribe, rate and review so Rod can keep delivering fresh content to you weekly!

This week, in a clear win for women in sports, a landmark decision was reached. Women who play soccer for the United States will now earn the same amount as men in a landmark equal pay win. In honor of this momentous moment, we are sharing a podcast from The Mediacasters community - The Forgotten XI. This show, hosted by Chris Mcglynn, a gentleman, soccer-lover and ally to women everywhere. He was perturbed by the fact that the men's team gets so much more attention and money than the women's team, even though the women's team was knocking it out of the park, winning world cup after world cup. He was inspired to start this podcast to unveil the often ignored and forgotten history of The Women's Game of Soccer / Football. We love it and know you will too!
Show Description: Women have been playing football for 150 years. It's always been political. Rapinoe is not the first to cause controversy. We go back to the beginning to tell the stories of the players and teams that made history. We explore everything we can find from the first female pro teams to the forgotten World Cups.
The Forgotten XI: Episode #8: Bella Ciao! (originally published in December 2019 and shared with permission)
In 1932, a group of high school girls play a soccer match in Italy. But this is Mussolini’s Italy. These young women are challenging not just sexism, but fascism. In so doing, they set off a series of remarkable events which will forever change Italy and women’s football around the world.

On this week's Podtease we continue the conversation on mental health while featuring the intersectionality of being a Black woman in the mental health space. Meet Sedruola Maruska and her award-winning podcast, Diversity Dish, as she connects with Dr. Tiffany M. Jenkins to discuss the importance of boundaries, self-care, therapy -- and how living as a Black woman often means you put yourself last. Sedie bills this as a "must listen" for Black women everywhere -- and for those who love them and those that work with them.
Diversity Dish Episode Notes:
This is a DO NOT MISS episode for Black women, those who love them and those who work with them! Dr. J and Sedie really get into some of the reasons we, Black women specifically, suffer from a lack of self care and what we need to do to change that. We talk about why more Black and brown therapists are needed and how to find the affordability.
Listening to this conversation you'll truly feel like a fly on the wall of a private, important and enlightening conversation.

Dear Podteaser,
In this second installment on mental health this week, we introduce you to a show that is OBSESSED With Humans On The Verge Of Change. As a team of coaches with expertise in business, law, nutrition and health, no subject is off limits. In this episode you get to know one of the hosts in a whole new way, as Tia Morell Walden, co-host of the show, opens up to Julie Lokun about the immense grief and joy she encountered in such a short time. Tia is a newlywed, a grieving sister, and a mother-to-be. The complexity of emotions they share, and their really vulnerable discussion about loneliness, grief, and the process of recovery is truly eye opening.
Obsessed is one of my favorite shows, and I'm not just saying that because it's my business bestie's flagship podcast. You might call me Obsessed with Obsessed... and its one of the most heart-wrenching stories I've yet to hear on any podcast -- ever. I hope you enjoy it. I know you will -- as you laugh, cry, and move into your day with hope and love for what's to come. It's time to embrace your loved ones, accept moments of loneliness, and move into the future you want to build, as you become a fan of Obsessed.
Let's Mix it!

Obsessed with Loneliness Show Notes:
What is loneliness?
Brené Brown, the author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines loneliness as:
The absence of meaningful social interaction—an intimate relationship, friendships, family gatherings, or even community or work group connections.
Today the world appears to be becoming more and more disconnected, with the cracks between people, races, genders, ethnicities, political beliefs, religions, and philosophies widening at an alarming rate. But, when we look deeper, this disconnection and the political and economic machines that are moving people apart are ironically spawning movements bringing people closer together than ever.
People are united in their humanity, joined by their hearts, by their desire for a better world, and the sincere wish to help others who are less fortunate. It takes tremendous strength and courage to remain open-hearted and vulnerable in the world we live in today. And yet, to survive, we must lead from the heart. And we must belong to ourselves.
Loneliness is disconnection (versus being alone). We are social creatures, and in today's climate, it is easier and easier to become disconnected, which leads to loneliness. In Tia's case, she suffered immense grief after her sister's death. And she disconnected from all those around her. She was surrounded by many people - yet felt a deep loneliness.
In this episode, Tia and Julie share their insights and stories about facing the feeling of loneliness and how it leads to disconnection – and how to pick yourself up from being lonely and disconnected.
This episode is dedicated to Shelby Sandahl, a loving sister to Tia who has touched many people's lives.
