  • It’s Halloween!!!

Or is it Christmas? Hard to say when stores have holiday items already hitting the shelves, decorations going up and the workplace is already playing christmas jingles! Is this a sore spot and possible topic of discussion in this week's episode?

You bet your ass it is!

Because it is all vibes this week! With nought for news and feature discussion, one trailer - the latest from Challengers director Luca Guadanigno, Queer - and just a whole bunch of opinions and chit-chat.

Regarding what, you may ask? Well, it is indeed Halloween, and so we reflect on the most horrifying, nightmare-inducing horror movies that we’ve endured, from Aliens to Barbarian and a shocking Jeepers Creepers 2 revelation!

We also tackle the long debated question - when should one party for Halloween if it falls on a weekday? The answer might be more obvious than you think.

And, of course, we get into what we’ve been into
continuing on with The Penguin on Max, a review of the MCU’s latest spinoff series, Agatha All Along, PLUS getting into spooky season with old and new horror films, with the likes of The Wicker Man and the 2024 exclusive “nuns in Italy” double feature, Immaculate and The First Omen.

Before we get lost in the trailer-verse, though, we first dive into the latest buzz in the news, including the inevitable shelving of the MCU Blade project, details on the new Christopher Nolan movie, and we fancast for the role of Patrick Bateman in the new adaptation of American Psycho!

Once we get into trailers, we hit on all sorts
from streaming with Season 2 of Severance (Apple TV +), Creature Commandos (DC) and Dune: Prophecy, to movies with the likes of Electric State (Netflix), The Monkey (Neon), The Legend of Ochi (A24), our highly anticipated first look at the Brutalist, and a load more!

    But wait
there’s more! We get the scoop on what we’re into, continuing with the Penguin (HBO / DC), getting a second opinion on Strange Darling, the tale of Dunk and Egg (George RR Martin - Game of Thrones), a taste of The Substance and more.

  • 23:19 - 2024 Mid Year Review

We're chatting about the first look at Gladiator 2 and the new Harry Potter TV series. We're digging into the photos from Gladiator 2 and feeling cautiously hyped for the film. Plus, we talk about Mark Mylod from Succession jumping on board for the Harry Potter series and throw around some casting guesses. We've got mixed feelings about the TV series, but our love for the Harry Potter books is real.

We cover a bunch of stuff like box office numbers, how streaming is shaking up movie releases, and our fave movies and TV shows of the year. We're buzzing about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, the Three Body Problem show, and how bummed we are about the Dune Part II series. And of course, we can't wait for upcoming releases like Shogun and Fortnite.

We get into the Wickedator hype, upcoming movies like Rings of Power and Arcane, and our thoughts on Will Smith's latest antics. We chat about our mid-year favorites in movies and TV, and we're super pumped for the Euro Cup. The convo covers everything from new releases to celeb reactions and sports.

In the last part of our chat, we argue about whether Bowser could fit into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles world. Ed thinks crossovers should be avoided, while Miguel brings up some crossovers that already happened. We also talk about our social media fails and share our thoughts on the show The Bear. We give a quick recap of House of the Dragon and talk about The Witcher 3 game. Finally, Ed gives us his take on the movie The Bike Riders.

  • 1:28 - Trailers (Caped Crusader, The Penguin, Nosferatu, Heretic) //

    31:14 - Superman Suit //

    48:22 - TikTok Parents / Country Music //

    01:26:46 - House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2 //

In this episode, we're diving into trailers for the new Batman animated movie and the A24 film Heretic. We've got mixed feelings about yet another Batman flick and are seriously questioning DC's constant stream of superhero movies. But you know what? We're super stoked for Robert Eggers' Nosferatu and can't wait to sink our teeth into that one! We geek out over the trailers, chatting about the casting choices and the cool cinematography. Oh, and we have to admit, we're guilty of endlessly rewatching trailers too!

Then, Ed and I get into the nitty-gritty of that new Superman suit and those leaked set photos from the next Superman flick. We debate the suit's fit and the style of the belt loops. Plus, we're worried the movie might go too goofy, like James Gunn's past films, which could cheapen Supes' iconic status. We also dish on the dos and don'ts of sharing set pics and how we handle potential spoilers.

Next up, we switch gears to chat about something completely different. We discuss the latest trend of posting set photos and the thrill of spotting movie sets in the wild. Then, we get real about the unspoken rules of playdates and the awkward dance of who pays for what. We drop some wisdom on keeping things chill in relationships, because hey, no one likes drama!

And let's not forget our unexpected deep dive into country music! We've been discovering new artists like Luke Combs and reminiscing about classics from Tracy Chapman. Oh, and we can't wait to hit up some live concerts soon. Finally, we wrap things up with a quick chat about the buzz-worthy TV show House of the Dragon.
