This nazm by Muneer Niyazi sahab is one of the most painful ballad of words that I have ever heard in my life. I remember hearing this for the first time in Australia at a fuel station.

Hi my lovely audience. I know you have been waiting for another mehfil mix but this song itself is a story. I believe the best way to do justice with this song was by narrating the original story of Sohni Mahiwaal. There are many renditions of this same story, I have chosen the one that fits narrative the best

I was reading this story by Gulzar Sahab (also one my favorite stories by him) and I thought of reading it loud to you guys. This is my attempt of bringing the pain of 1947 partition back alive and to give Darshan Singhs pain a voice.

i just took a pen and a paper and decided to randomly vent out my feelings. This not a piece of poetry or anything else, it is just me being me.

i think it is one of those days when I have been feeling a little out of place from quite some time and just wanted to vent out. This is not about a particular incident, instead it is very generic.

I have been reading a lot about Bhagat Singh lately, in order to gain insights about how the great man thought. I have read several letters and although many letters moved me, I started with this because if at all, I have gained a little insight into the mentality, I can come to a conclusion that the great man, thought very highly of his comrades. This letter was written, a day before his execution (22 March, 1931). The last line of his letter still haunts me...Follow me on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jaisinghhofficial

Footprints on a zero line by Gulzar Sahab is one of those books, that I recommend to everyone. I have read the entire book twice and out of so many tales, and poetries, I find Toba Tek Singh as one of the most heart wrenching one. Karachi being the other. Please read the book and let me know what your thoughts on that are.

Sometimes you feel that sudden urge to express yourself because something is piling on. This is purely me expressing myself unfiltered. Also if Mohabbat Zindabaad had a theme. It would be this.

Partition has had a very strong impact on me. I have said this on multiple occasion rather. Today, while going through the pages of my diary, I found this nazm written by Gulzar Sahab which painfully describes the situation that I have been through so many times.
Presenting a voice over that will forever be close to my heart.

"In the echoes of the Sutlej's whispers, where the peacock dances freely, our love transcends borders, stitched in the fabric of time. Meet me at the confluence where history meets destiny, under the shade of the banyan tree, where our hearts first whispered secrets across the ages." - Jai Singh

Sometimes, the stories are not written by us. We only realise that they have been living within us for son long....

Bahut ajeeb ho jata hai kabhi kabhi khud se mohabbat karna, agar zara bhi galat gaye to ye khud se mohabbat karne ka jo concept hai ye akelepan ka roop bhi le leta hai. Aap jahan jaaye ye aap ke saath chalta hai. Aur agar aap galat nahi jaate hain to yehi khud se ki hui mohabbat aap ko kisi aur se mohabbat ke kaabil bana deti hai. Mujhe ye baat tajurbe ke roop me aai, aur tajurbe ka kya hai na, ye kayi baar bahut der se aata hai…to aaj aap logon ko keh raha hoon…aap seekh jaao…nahi to tajurbe kayi baar dard de dete hain boss. Ashfaq Hussain sahab ki in panktiyon se yehi seekha hai maine…main galat ho sakta hoon..aap mat honaFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastardin the heart of Sydney’s twinkling cityscape, Jai and Afsana embarked on an evening that neither would forget. As the setting sun painted the horizon with hues of pink and purple, the two stepped out, elegantly attired. Afsana wore a graceful black dress that flowed like the dark, tranquil waters of the Harbour. Jai, in contrast, wore a sharp black tuxedo, echoing the silhouette of Sydney’s architectural marvels. The evening began with a candlelit dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Sydney Opera House. The mellow light from the candles reflected in Afsana’s eyes, revealing a depth that pulled Jai in, much like the vast Australian night sky pulls one into its myriad constellations. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, much like the waters beneath the Harbour Bridge, punctuated with laughter and shared dreams. As dinner concluded, they took a leisurely walk along the Circular Quay. The cool breeze from the ocean intertwined with the melodies of street musicians, setting a romantic ambiance. With every step, the dazzling lights of the city seemed to fade into the background, replaced by a world only they could perceive. With the Sydney Tower Eye witnessing their journey from afar, they spoke of dreams, fears, and everything in between. As they walked and talked, it felt as if the universe had slowed its pace just for them, allowing them a moment in eternity.Under the canopy of the starlit sky, by the shores of the Pacific, they paused. Afsana looked deep into Jai’s eyes and whispered, “Tonight, amidst this vast universe of flesh and concrete, it feels like we’re just two souls, bound by something deeper than love.”And as they stood there, embraced by the cosmic ballet of the stars above and the rhythmic waves below, they realized that their souls had indeed transcended the physical realm. The universe of flesh had faded, leaving behind two souls, dancing to the timeless rhythm of love.Music : Micheal Kiwanuka (intended for fair use only)Written and Narrated by: @oldschoolbastard
