In this episode we interview Sophie Lark, author of many dark-ish romances out there (think of them as dark-lite...the goal post keeps moving for what qualifies as a dark romance these days), as we discuss her recent release Anastasia, based on the true Anastasia Romanov family (not the movie Anastasia, so don't expect a re-telling of that). Sophie and I talk all sorts of things like her decision to incorporate over 100 pages of illustrations in the book, her momentary ban on TikTok for being too sexy with her husband, and what she loves best about working for herself as an author. You can check Sophie out at sophielark.com, on Instagram as sophie_lark_author, and TikTok as sophielarkauthor. Her social media presence is spectacular! Thanks for listening and read whatever the fuck you want.
Disclaimer: due to my own dumbassery this was originally filmed over multiple days of interviews, so if it seems slightly disjointed for a second it's my own editing to blame.

In this episode I break down my reads from November 2022 and answer some random questions from my followers. Books included are: The Governess and the Orc by Finley Fenn, Lex by Cora Rose, Faith & the Dead End Devils by Kathryn Moon, Quiver and Quill by A.M. Kore, Resisting Maxu by Victoria Aveline, Until Him by Cora Rose, Vow Maker by Lily Morton, and Shameless Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James. You may also hear my husband shouting about video games in the background. He's...passionate.

In this episode I interview author of queer romances, Alison Cochrun, about her life, her writing, and her obsession with Bill Pullman and the 1995 movie, "When You Were Sleeping". She is the author of The Charm Offensive (inspired by shows like The Bachelor) and her most recent release Kiss Her Once For Me, a sapphic marriage-of-convenience to get an inheritance, fake-dating romance novel featuring a bisexual heroine who makes a deal with a guy and then realizes she's in love with his sister. What a hoot of an episode.

Mikayla and I come together to bring you an enlightening discussion on turkey-themed smut for this month of giving back. You'll hear our unbiased and unfiltered opinion on books such as: Stuffed by the Were-Turkey by Tate McKirk, Full Sack by Layla Fae, Back for Seconds by Vera Valentine & JL Logosz, and A Fangsgiving to Remember by Kate McDarris. We recorded this episode AND released it and didn't think about not doing it though we maybe should have.

Today's episode features an interview with romance author Tessa Bailey about her new release (11/7) Happenstance, the story of a young woman who suddenly finds herself the object of three men's affections...and they plan to share her. If she'll have them.
We also discuss the time I yelled at her in a Starbucks, whether romance novels are really unrealistic, damsels in distress, and how much we truly wouldn't like having three men sharing our life with us.

What did I love, what did I not so much enjoy? Listen here and find out. Please keep in mind that these are my honest opinions of these books but that doesn't make them right. I'm just one single person with weird beliefs who makes strange choices. I am not the authority on romance and I hope you never choose NOT to read something because I personally didn't like it. Anyways, books mentioned are:
Tentacles and Triathlons by Ashley Bennett, When She's Pregnant by Ruby Dixon, Happenstance by Tessa Bailey, (a myriad of pumpkin fucking books which you can hear about in Episode 12), Daddies' Girl by Calista Jayne, Little Souls of Fire by Clio Evans, and Finding Home by Sutton Bishop.

In this episode Mikayla and I discuss all the weird Halloween-themed smut we read this past month including: pumpkin-headed men, headless men, scarecrows, pumpkin spice lattes, boogeymen, and literal pumpkins. It's weird and potentially offensive to pumpkins. Happy Halloween!

In this episode I interview Australian author Eve Dangerfield about a myriad of topics including her upcoming reverse harem, dark Snow White re-imagining Velvet Cruelty (out now), her bold choice to include a heroine with plastic surgery in her book, and the art of writing the grovel. This is a jam-packed episode that was so much fun to record.

Please enjoy this episode where I bitch about my reading slump last month, give yays or nays on the books I did read, and ramble on about the appropriate time for demons to stalk humans they're curious about. HINT: IT'S NOT AT NIGHT TIME, YA DUMMY.
Please remember: All opinions expressed here are my own. They're honest--that's why you trust me, obviously--but they shouldn't be held as truth. If a book I didn't like sounds interesting to you I encourage you to read it. Most of the time my issues with the book are personal (trope or plot related) and not reflective of the author's skill of writing (unless otherwise stated).
Authors mentioned this episode include: Lily Mayne, Lily Morton, Ruby Dixon, Saxon James, Neve Wilder, Cate C Wells, Sutton Bishop, Danielle Jackson (and a little bit Adriana Anders).

I couldn't get Finley Fenn, my favorite Orc author to kick-off Orc-tober, but I was able to snag myself her Personal Assistant, Mary Kate! Listen to us talk about how she literally fell into the job of being an author's personal assistant (and what that work entails) before we delve into the wonderous world of Orcs. If you're looking for Orc recommendations, you're in the right episode. Cause we've got them.

In this episode Mikayla and I discuss the book All He Wants for Christmas is a Fingerling which features a wolf shifter falling for...you guessed it, a potato shifter. It's wild. Brief discussions of...vore? I don't know. He eats part of the potato shifter as part of a mating ceremony. It's consensual. It's required. It's not gore or anything like that. But I kinda feel you should be warned. Enjoy.

Today's episode features monster romance author Lily Mayne. We discuss her upcoming release Seraph (out 9/9), her Monstrous series, and how big she thinks the United States is. No major spoilers for her books, including Seraph, are given during this episode, however plot points and characters are discussed very generally.
-
Please enjoy this episode where I list off all the romance novels I read in July and August 2022 and give you honest feedback on whether I liked them or wish they'd delete themselves from my brain.

In this episode, Mikayla and I sort of talk Muscles & Monsters by Ashley Bennett and converse about important things that are totally relevant in real life like: if wolf shifters can eat chocolate without throwing up, whether sxx should legally be allowed to be considered dessert or whether it should be a crime, whether monsters feel pressured by human society to conform to our beauty standards, how I said I'd never date a guy named something boring like Rob but then I married a Rob, and Mikayla's experience as an esthetician and her time lasering people's flaps and holes.
-
In this episode I interview Vera Valentine who has co-authored the Holiday Hedonism novels and authored the series Carnal Cryptids, a reverse harem monster romance. As a self-proclaimed Wish Brand Chuck Tingle, authentic BDSM author, and safe sex toy advocate, she writes stories featuring that super weird dream you had that one time that didn't seem at all sexy and...makes it sexy. Some of her stories include: a divorced menopausal woman getting laid in the back of a van by three vamps, Thanksgiving leftovers come to life to provide pleasure, and kinky balloon animal shifts.
