These days, Yoga is one of a few things that can be recommended as a panacea for our challenges.
But do we all need to do it? And does it actually address life's difficulties?
This episode discusses the original purpose of Yoga, what role it plays in developing our awareness and the potential alternatives to find a sense of contentment.

What is a Guru? Do we need one? Are celebrities our modern day equivelant?
These are some the questions we ask in this episode, amidst discussing the difference between a person and something that acts as the function of a Guru. We share our personal experience with teachers and ponder whether our modern world requires us to have individual mentors or collective experiences.

For our first episode of 'The Bridge', we discuss the importance of choosing the direction of your life.
In a world that is seemingly filled with an abundance of opportunity, join us for a conversation about how to filter what you want from the noise and avoid decision fatigue.
We touch on the privilege of having choice, whilst also acknowledging it can be a burden as well (noting that in psychological studies choice is highly correlated with anxiety).
There are useful tips and tricks about how to do this, as well as the importance of having a direction to point your life towards.

Welcome to The Bridge!
Formerly Wavelength, Ziggy and Irene are back with a revamped podcast that is an evolution of our former project.
In this bridging (hehe) episode, we explain why we have changed the name and what we have been doing over the past 2 years between uploads.
The Bridge Podcast has a vision to integrate traditional teachings from Eastern wisdom traditions with the current understanding of Western science. We are both renowned Yoga and meditation teachers with qualifications in physiotherapy and psychology aiming to fill the gap between modern science and spiritual teachings.
We share our insights as teachers and therapists, whilst interviewing interesting leaders from their respective fields, all in the hope of supporting people to live a fuller, more enjoyable life.
Join us to discuss what is currently known and seemingly unknowable. -
In our modern world, we celebrate intelligence and intellect almost above all else. Yet, according to the Eastern wisdom traditions, our intuitive capacity is a higher form of mental capacity.
Join us for a chat with Jana Johnson, a psycho-spiritual counsellor who both Irene and Ziggy have worked closely with in the past.
Jana works with the physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, intellectual bodies through counselling and energetic healing and shares her wisdom with you about how to get the most out of your innate capacity. -
Yoga is not only an incredibly popular practice in today's world, but it often comes with many associations. How accurate these understandings are and how diluted they may have become in our modern zeitgeist is another thing altogether.
Join Irene and Ziggy as they speak about Yoga from both an ancient and modern perspective, how it can be reimagined and what should stay integral to keep the fullness of its potential. -
In this episode, we speak with dear friend of the show Dr. Sherif Tawfilis. Having originally worked as an executive in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Sherif found himself so burnt out and depleted he sought help through Shamanic methodologies.
Since then, he has found his path and become a Shaman himself, having studied under great masters in the Andes, Chile.
Both Irene and Ziggy have worked with Sherif before, experiencing the potency of his tradition and its capacity to heal deep energetic wounds.
This podcast centres around the idea that we need the sacred as part of our everyday, looking at both Tantra and Shamanism as different and yet similar methodologies to do this.
We hope you enjoy this riveting and expansive conversation!

The intent with which we live our lives and perform actions has a direct effect on our experience.
In this episode, we discuss how both Tantra and science understand intention, its power and capacity to create the life we desire.
Whether it be your dream job, partner or having a daily meditation practice, the clarity and conviction of your will and intent shapes your daily experience and the fulfilment of your desires! Listen to find out how. -
Welcome back for Season 2!
In this episode, Irene and Ziggy discuss whether or not a personal, spiritual pursuit is selfish.
How we are in the world dictates our experience of it and to shift that, sometimes it is necessary to move away from our day-to-day activities to have an opportunity to recalibrate.
But what does that mean for our friends and family, all of whom have certain expectations of who and how we are?
They define what they mean by both 'spirituality' and 'selfish', leaning on their experience as individuals and Tantric teachers to address the question. -
In our final episode for Season 1, we hosted a live webinar with Fluff founder Erika Geraerts.
Erika has been involved in various business ventures over the last 10 years, from agency to beauty, hospitality to publishing. After stepping down from her role as co-founder of Frank Body in 2016, she is currently founder and head of Fluff Casual Cosmetics, a brand trying to do better, telling the world that beauty is more than makeup.
This podcast centres around the learnings which have continued to drive Erika, as well as the concept of fearless action; what that means and how we can cultivate a sense of resilience in the face of adversity.
We look at ideas such as purpose/dharma, accepting failure, values-based work/living and rising to meet what life asks of us by connecting to our own sense of self. This final episode is not to be missed!

In this episode, Izzy and Ziggy discuss the concept of love and challenge how we are taught to understand it.
We are presented with what love is from a very early age; via our parents, movies and television but is there more to such a powerful, life changing force than just romance?
This discussion centres around love not only as a concept, but as an experience that we awaken ourselves to, opposed to seek for others to satiate and validate.
It also delves into the idea that when we experience true love within ourselves, we feel full and able to give it out freely, not reserving it for a certain few. -
For so many of us, God and religion can be difficult, even triggering topics.
In this episode, we chat with facilitator and experience designer Aaron Densham about how we can utilise the powerful lessons and rituals within religion, without the dogma so often associated with it.
We also look at how we can tap into our innate human potential via self-exploration, inquiry and curiosity, as well as asking what spirituality looks like in the 21st Century - particularly in the Western World.
Aaron is also co-founder of Kehilat Kolenu, an initiative which brings a human-centred approach to Judaism via music and community.

Our desire to connect and find somewhere we belong goes further than simple pragmatism. It is a deep and fundamental evolutionary drive that effects everything that we do. Our new global community can give the illusion of interconnectivity, but can also lead us to feeling more isolated and alone than ever. Ziggy and Irene talk about the importance of belonging, how this can come from finding a community and that it is something we have to actively foster, not simply wait to happen.
-
When each of us is entitled to an opinion and we often have this perspective reflected to us by our immediate circles and social media, why should we bother listening to a contrary belief?
It seems we have never been more separated when it comes to our beliefs and own individual truths, as well as a growing trend in justifying positions opposed to listening and learning.
In this episode, we dive into the importance of listening to understand a different opinion and how this binary, juxtaposing approach to discussion is driving us further and further away from each other. We also look into whether or not Truth can be all pervasive, and what this may look like, or simply subjective. -
In this bonus episode we share our first short practice with you led by Irene Ais.
Many of the discussions that we have on wavelength are grounded in our daily practice. We believe that these simple practices are for everybody and allow us to experience our natural resting state and most effortless awareness..our innate capacity just to be.
Whether you have a daily breath or meditation practice or this is your first experience we invite you to enjoy this brief quiet moment with us.
This practice is designed to allow any stress in your system to be released.
We experience stress for a multitude of reasons: Excessive attachment to our thoughts, heightened emotions or simply through our nervous system being overstimulated.
We invite you to take 10 minutes to close the eyes and to allow your system to gradually de-excite and for any stress in the body and the mind to release. -
Many of us live in big cities surrounded by millions of people and with communication at our fingertips due to technology and yet we feel more disconnected from one another than ever before.
This experience has been amplified by the the global Covid pandemic for those living with strict social distancing.
In this very topical episode, we interview psychologist Dr Esme Dark about the effects of isolation, what she has experienced in her professional environment and the ways in which we can look after our mental health, wellbeing and realign ourselves with our innate hard wiring for connection.
Dr Esme Dark is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 12 years of experience supporting adults, children and families with their mental health and wellbeing. She has a private psychology practice based in Melbourne which focuses on the use of holistic psychological approaches. She has worked at the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture and Trauma for 7 years in various roles supporting refugee and asylum seeker families to recover and rebuild their lives.

In this episode, we are looking into the mechanics of stress. What is stress? How does it affect the body and mind? How does it affect our lives?
We will also look at the difference between 'good' and 'bad' stress and the important role it plays in our lives.
Drawing on both philosophy and psychology, this is an episode particularly pertinent to our current situation and lives with useful tips on how to manage stress, as well as understand it. -
Welcome to Wavelength!
In this introductory episode, you will meet your hosts, Ziggy Razuki and Irene 'Izzy' Ais and learn why Wavelength was conceived and created.
Our basic hypothesis is: "Connection is the bridge to fulfilment."
We discuss this idea, its power and importance in life, as well as a host of other topics. -
For our first official episode, we decided to tackle a very small topic, "The Meaning of Life"!
Using their understanding from Western psychology and Eastern mysticism, Izzy and Ziggy discuss the different ways there are to approach this perennial question and what they have learned from their personal experience as teachers and people.
Delving into ideas such as purpose, belonging and of course connection, this discussion is rich with facts and stories of people who have sought and found meaning through similar inquiry.
An opening episode that isn't to be missed and has a nugget (or two) of gold for everyone!
