  • Let’s say a client hired you so that they could learn to feel more confident and motivated in their work, and in a session, they happen to bring forward an issue about a parenting situation
but you don’t have kids or know anything about parenting!

    Or, you’re working with a client on supporting them to achieve their business goals and the topic of whether or not they should run Facebook ads comes up
but you’re not an expert on ads!

    We may have a particular expertise and types of goals that we help our clients with, but that doesn’t mean that they’re only always going to stay on those exact topics in our work together. Life is messier than that – nothing in life is totally compartmentalized. Work relates to home life. And home life relates to work, etc etc. And so a variety of issues are going to come up in your client sessions. And this is how it should be!

    Over the decades, as I’ve supported my clients on the inner and outer work of growing their businesses and leadership, as well as their transformational skills, they’ve brought forward pretty much every situation under the sun – parenting, caring for aging parents, wanting to leave marriages, deciding if they should move from their hometown, illness, figuring out how to write their one woman show, and on and on. And each and every one of these topics were important in the work we were doing together. And
OF COURSE there is no way I could EVER be an expert in all of these things. And I would end up making myself miserable if I tried. And yet, I’ve been able to support my clients in every single one of these situations.

    How do you do that? How do you support clients in realms and situations that are out of your area of expertise? We explore that topic on today’s episode and you’re going to walk away with some specific ideas and instructions on what to do next!

    Some topics we cover:

    ==an important shift in understanding what coaching means

    ==practitioner fears around “being smart enough”

    ==the difference between consulting and coaching

    ==Breakthrough questions that help clients find their own answers

    ==what it means to help clients find resources

    ==and much more!

  • In so many circles, it’s taboo to even talk about Jealousy. It’s considered bad and wrong and shameful. But, in the Sacred Depths approach to transformation, nothing is inherently bad or wrong. Everything - every feeling or impulse - that arises inside of us can be used for evolution and finding deeper self-compassion and satisfaction.

    And that is why we cross the taboo lines to explore Jealousy in this episode!

    Jealousy, when it comes up for yourself or your clients, can be sneaky and cause havoc. It can lead you to be self-sabotage, to not be at the top of your game, to hold yourself back, to be mean to yourself or others
and generally cause some misery.

    But Jealousy can also be harnessed and transmuted into aligned power and productivity.

    In this episode we break down the nature of jealousy and I give some practical foundational ideas on how to work with it. It’s a juicy episode! (And one that will answer some questions, but also in beautiful ways open up many more questions!).

    Some topics we cover:

    ==the nature of jealousy and the many (surprising) ways it expresses itself

    ==what it means to normalize jealousy

    ==leaning in to aligned competition as an antidote

    ==the relationship between jealousy and power

    ==I share some personal experiences with jealousy and surprising outcomes

    ==and much more!

    This episode has both practical ideas for working with yourself & clients as well as philosophical ideas for you to ponder. It’s a rich one!

  • In this episode we look into a question that I often get asked, and it usually goes something like this: “I know it’s time to raise my rates, but how do I let my existing clients know? I’m worried they won’t want to continue with me!”

    Too many coaches and practitioners either hold back from raising their rates out of fear, or raise their rates but don’t handle it well and then lose those clients.

    I am here that there ARE ways to raise your rates ethically and effectively!

    It can be a tricky if you don’t know how to share about the change in rates in aligned ways, and as always this is both an inner and outer job, so this episode is a juicy one where you get important tips for how to communicate with your clients
and also, where you learn a little bit about yourself too!

    Some topics we cover:

    ==the Energetics of raising your rates

    ==the fear that’s holding you back from raising your rates

    ==the logistics around raising your rates

    ==exactly what to say to clients when you are planning to raise your rates

    ==and so much more!

  • Our clients come to us because they want a transformation of some sort. The transformations can be in their outer world - finishing a big project, growing a business, attracting a loving relationship, better managing a team, and beyond. The transformations can also be in their inner worlds: more confidence, more self-love, more consistency, just to name a few.

    Most coaches and practitioners don’t exactly understand the process of transformation and change, and this is why their clients often have wonderful insights and initial motivation, but don’t follow through on truly achieving goals. When we understand more deeply how the process of transformation works, we are much more able to guide the space for our clients to experience real change and progress.

    Some topics we cover:

    == when and why breakthroughs become useless

    == the first crucial step to activating transformations

    == what it takes to be the type of coach who co-creates change

    == the cycle of the Window of Action and how to harness it

    ==the amount of time it takes to change

  • Knowing how to support your clients to move through their fear is a game changer if you are a coach, therapist or transformational practitioner.

    That’s because fear can often stand in the way of your clients taking action towards and achieving the goals they’ve hired you for. And, when fear rears its head, if not navigated with skill, it can bring your work with your client to a standstill.

    Most practitioners try to help clients talk through the fear or to “release” the fear, but neither of these strategies work. Instead, what’s required is a process to Befriend the Fear, and to do so in ways that move beyond just the cognitive level of learning & processing.

    In this inaugural episode, we dive deep into the human behavior behind fear and some of the most important principles that coaches and practitioners need to know in order to help your clients co-exist in regulated and empowering ways with fear.

    Once you learn how to better work with fear, that’s when you become poised to co-create even better results with your clients.

    As always, through everything you learn about fear in this episode, you will learn a lot about yourself and ways that you can make better friends with fear in your own life.

    Some of the topics we cover:

    ==The ways that fear can show up in your client sessions

    ==What happens when we pathologize fear

    ==Where fear comes from

    ==The benefits of helping clients distinguish between present and past resources

    ==The principle of risk when fear gets activated

    ==Discomfort versus pain and how this can help you work with fear

    ==Why releasing fears isn’t viable or safe, and what to do instead

  • Going overtime in client sessions is OK
.until it isn’t. It can create stress and chaos in your schedule, and when it happens persistently it can also lead to resentment of clients. Additionally, it generally doesn’t really help your clients.

    Many coaches and practitioners get stuck in a cycle of going overtime in sessions, but don’t know how to get out of it. Because you don’t know how to keep your sessions to the agreed upon time (clients can talk so much!) or because your clients have already gotten used to longer session times.

    In this episode, we break down the specific reasons practitioners go overtime in sessions (most of them are not what you think, and you’ll be laughing in recognition as soon as you hear them!) and then look at exactly what to do so that going overtime in session is a “once in a while” thing versus a pattern that robs you of your time and energy.

    Some of the topics we cover:

    ==How the coach’s beliefs and energetics are the driving factor behind staying on time or going over time

    ==How feeling not good enough is a surefire way to go overtime in a session

    ==The very first thing to do in a client session that will help you avoid going over time

    ==What you need to know about interrupting clients who have gone off course

    ==How to close a session when you haven’t covered everything your client wanted to cover

    ==What to share with clients who have gotten used to longer sessions

  • Today’s topic is one that is going to help you be a better coach and practitioner in EVERY SINGLE one of your sessions and groups.

    It impacts how you listen to your clients, how you ask questions, how you create awareness, how you strategize, and so much more. It’s really a game changing principle and skill
and one that will allow you to go much, much deeper with your clients for more transformation.

    And it’s all about activating what I call the 4 Levels of Learning and Processing in your client work.

    If you aren’t aware of the 4 Levels, and also what types of coaching questions, reflections and processes can activate each of the 4 Levels, it’s likely that you’re feeling like you client sessions either are just scratching the surface instead of going deep, or that clients aren’t fully connecting in with their inner wisdom to find new solutions, or that you are having trouble navigating emotion that is just under the surface for clients and getting in their of being fully present or fully seeing their situations, and so much more.

    In today’s episode we go deep into better understanding and using the 4 Levels.

    Some topics we cover:

    ==What each of the 4 Levels of Learning & Processing are and why each is important to transformation

    ==The best coaching moments to use brainstorming and mindmapping

    ==Where desire falls in the process of transformation

    ==How trust can be used to support clients to reach their goals

    ==What a body memory is and how to leverage it for client growth

  • Inside of the Sacred Depths Transformational Practitioner Training, I share a lot of coaching demos because one of the BEST ways to become a better practitioner, to stretch and master your transformational skills, is to listen and observe, with intention and presence, to masterful coaching sessions.

    It is so, so valuable to do this whether you are a new practitioner learning skills for the first time, or a very seasoned practitioner like me with decades of experience. I value life long learning because I know it makes me better and better and better at what I do. And that’s why I love that you’re here too, listening to this podcast!

    In today’s episode, I share with you a 27 minute coaching demonstration where I go deep with my client and we do a somatic process that unpacks the ways her inner child has been inadvertently holding her back from her goals. It is VERY powerful. As practitioners, it is essential that we know how to work with the inner child.

    And of course, while this isn’t a training on how to work with inner child, you will learn some key wisdom and tips.

    Some topics we cover:

    ==Creating space between the adult self and the child fears

    ==How to open pathways for clients to see that fear doesn’t have to run the show

    ==Accessing Adult Wisdom

    ==Holding space for clients to go deep

  • This is a very personal episode, one where I open up very transparently to share about my inner push and pull around fame and wanting to be “BIG”...and how I’ve navigated it (and still navigate it) in my own life and business.

    The topic of Fame is an important and tricky one. There are layers to it.

    There’s lots of beauty in the pull to be known, and there can also be a lot of Shadow in it. As a practitioner, you need to understand some of the psychology and human behavior behind fame in order to support your clients (or yourself!) to know if it’s right for them, and how to move forward with it.

    Some topics we cover:

    ==My big breakthrough at an Aimee Mann concert

    ==Discerning between cultural fantasy and expectations and true desires

    ==How you or your clients might be tricking yourselves out of pursuing your dreams

    ==What aligned fame looks like

    This is an episode not to be missed!
