In today's episode, I am just chatting you about my life at the moment. Lately, I have had a few realisations, one of them being that I am using excuses to get out of things that I feel are too hard to do.
Namely exercise....you know the ones, too busy, no time, too cold, and blah blah blah. But after going to see my sister in law Jacinta finish the Melbourne marathon the other day I decided it is time to encourage myself, just as I would one of my children if they had a big scary goal. In this episode I talk all about my priorities at the moment, what my big goal for 2018 is and ask you "What have you been thinking about doing but have been giving yourself every excuse you can not do it" Is that story REAL? Or can you change something in your every day to achieve something that scares you? -
Nikki has 2 teenage boys and has had one of the hardest journeys as a new mum that I have ever heard. This is a story of mums not supporting each other which really hurt and effected a mum who had no support at all for her newborn baby. This interview is the first one that has left me speechless. I just cannot believe what some mums will do to another mum.
Nikki came on this podcast to talk about her story so that other mums who feel like they are doing a bad job and are struggling with being a mum can know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and things do get better.I loved talking with Nikki and I am so grateful for her sharing this story with me. If you know a mum who is struggling please share it with them and as always if you like this episode I would be ever so grateful if you left me a review on Itunes as this helps me get the podcast out to other mums who may need tips or tricks to help them thrive in this crazy mess we call motherhood.
A Little Bit about Nikki:
Nikki Lane has been running small businesses for over 10 years as well as being a spiritual/intuitive person.
She has a passion to assist people to be the best small business operators they can be.
Having worked as a PA / VA for over 20 years she is incredibly organised and efficient yet also a Certified ThetaHealer. Weird perhaps… but she classes herself as a spiritual business person and highly recommends mixing the two!!
Her passion and strength lie in working with “idea generators” helping them to distil their ideas and dreams into tangible steps so that they can actually achieve them.
She combines her business skills with a little bit of woo-woo and creates a magical combination of practical and loving business support to help you on your journey to success.
Behind the scenes, she is a mum of two teenage boys, loves having a beer after work and yep, she swears. She doesn't like getting dressed up or wearing high heel shoes, she loves her thongs in summer and ugg boots in winter.
She loves magical things, nature, the beach, the trees, the birds. She loves tapping into the energy of the universe in her own unique form of meditation. -

Jody Murray is mum to 3 teenagers and lives on a cattle property in far north Queensland. I loved talking to Jody and getting a snapshot into her life on a property and what it is like to raise children there. Jody has such a rich life in so many ways. She has spent many years on her own personal development and is working with and inspiring other ladies of the land to be the best versions of themselves. In this interview, we talk about what it was like when Jody had her first baby, feeling very protective at first, trusting your gut instinct, not being afraid to ask for help so that you can get some good quality sleep and That the more kids learn as kids the easier it is for them to be adults. I loved talking with Jody and I hope you love listening to this interview.
Jody says "My family and I live on our family cattle station in western Qld. It is a family run operation that has been in the family for over 100 years now. We have a few things going on. We run Brahman and Brahman cross cattle, we have diversified and have an earth moving business where we concentrate on pasture development and rejuvenation in our area. I have a quarter horse stud breeding sprint bred quarter horses. I also have a keen interest in my own spiritual and personal development and offer life purpose - scientific hand analysis and combine this with the messages from horses to help women stand in their power and be proud of who they are. My intention for the future is to hold retreats on my land so that women can connect back to earth and their wild woman." -
Avalon is a Sensual Embodiment Guide, Mentor, and multidimensional mother, inspiring women to trust their inner wisdom and express their divine self in love, birth, motherhood, sexuality and life purpose.
After escaping an abusive relationship over a decade ago, Avalon was a single mum, then healed her heart to attract an amazing man and they now live with their blended family with 5 wild, unschooled children on the mid-North coast of Australia, doing her best to break free from the conditioning of domestication and live life beautifully.
Interviewing Avalon was a beautiful awakening for me. Her spirit and soul is so gentle and kind. The ways that she interacts with her children with patience and love allowing them to have free expression is so inspiring.
This interview covers
Being a blended family and resolving the conflict between children. How staying grounded as a parent is so importantHow parenting is such a growth phase for us mums. The importance of self-expressionCoping when you have had no sleepThe importance of listening to everyone else and trusting yourselfBaby carriers are the best when you have a little baby - Keep things easyEvery stage of parent hood changes so quicklyHomeschooling - lifestyle choice and a change of pace to be in their own family rhythms, flexible natural learningMeal planning helps you have fewer decisions to make your day makes life easy. You can find Avalon at blossoming woman I really hope you enjoy this interview as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you -

Dianne talks about the importance of new mums being gentle on themselves. When your little one sleeps you should sleep as well. We also chat about how the world has changed, the pressure on mums, getting a cleaner if you can....it is life changing and what you can get is done is good enough.

In today's episode, I am not in my office recording and the quality of the sound may not be perfect but I am keeping it real and I recorded it at the beach while my children played and my husband and older girls surfed. It was the only time that I had the opportunity to record so I did it. That is what The Everyday Mum Podcast is all about. Keeping it real and sharing the crazy mess we call motherhood. I hope you enjoy. If you like it I would love for you to leave me a review on iTunes and share it with a friend. x

In today's episode, I was so lucky because I got to talk with Mihaela Telecan who is an inspirational mum who lives in Florida USA. Mihaela runs a company called Healing With Foods. One thing that I took away from this interview was that everything you want to achieve in life comes from a positive mindset and a can-do attitude. Mihaela talking about HIIT (High-Intensity Interval training) fasting and of course motherhood. This is inspiring and I am so grateful for the opportunity to talk with Mihaela. You can find out more about Mihaela at http://www.mihaelatelecan.com/
