What happens if there's a tie in the presidential election?
Polls continue to show a dead heat between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, both nationally and in key battleground states.

Fox News' senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram recently joined host Dave Anthony to discuss what would happen in this case and how Congress would ultimately decide the presidency.
Chad looks back at previous elections where lawmakers chose a president and breaks down the "doomsday" scenarios that could transform the weeks leading up to Inauguration Day into a "hellscape."
The conversation was fascinating but too lengthy to fit into our original segment.
Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with Chad Pergram from FOX News and hear him explain why this could be one of the most unprecedented elections we've ever witnessed.

The gender gap continues to grow in American politics, contributing to the nation's partisan divide. The latest FOX News poll shows a 20-point difference between preferred candidates, with women favoring Vice President Kamala Harris and men favoring former President Donald Trump. Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley joined to discuss former President Trump's recent all-women town hall with FOX's Harris Faulkner and detailed their playbook for the last few weeks of the campaign.
Vice President Kamala Harris' recent media appearances may seem scattered at first glance, with her interviews ranging from a sit down with Alex Cooper on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast to a heated exchange with FOX News Chief Political Correspondent Bret Baier on 'Special Report'. However, despite their differences, the Democratic presidential nominee's goal is the same with them all: winning over key demographics she'll need for an election victory. Democratic Strategist & former spokesperson for Secretary of State John Kerry, Marie Harf, weighs in on whether this strategy is effective with less than three weeks until Election Day.

Federal prosecutors in Oklahoma are building a case against Nasir Ahmad
Tawhedi, who is alleged to have planned a mass attack on Election Day on behalf of the
Islamic State terror
Tawhedi did not slip past border patrol in Texas; instead, he was invited and transported to the
U.S. by the government itself.
He had previously worked for the CIA and other entities in Afghanistan and was evacuated with his family when the U.S. military withdrew in September 2021.
Was Tawhedi always a jihadist waiting for the chance to strike? Investigators don't believe so.
However, the pressing question is why Tawhedi was not deemed a risk despite his
history with U.S. intelligence. Furthermore, does the current immigration policy have loopholes that allowed him to evade scrutiny?
Adam Shaw, who covers immigration and border security for FOX Digital, joins the FOX News Rundown: Evening Edition to analyze Tawhedi's case and how it is once again raising questions about America's immigration policies and our ability to vet anyone who crosses into our country legally or illegally.

Something of a split-screen moment in the U.S. economy.

But at the same time, consumer confidence has been falling, as a majority of Americans say they feel worse off than four years ago. How do we square these two snapshots of our nation’s economy?
The Big Money Show co-anchor Taylor Riggs speaks with Annex Wealth Management’s chief economist Brian Jacobsen about how this situation has left the higher-income consumer better off while lower-income Americans have the “budget blues.”

In a closely divided Senate where the Democrats hold the majority by just one seat, the 2024 election poses a possibility for the Republicans to reclaim power in the upper chamber. Republicans are favored in the Senate contests in West Virginia and Montana, while Democrats' Senate candidates lead in Nevada, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Last month, however, Senate Democrats announced they would spend money to help their Senate candidates in Texas and Florida. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) joins the Rundown to explain why his Democratic opponent is too radical for Florida, how he’s reaching voters on the IVF issue, and his ambitions for Majority Leader.
A crucial swing state in the blue wall looks vulnerable to flip to Republicans in November, with polls for the presidential and senate race in the state appearing to be neck-and-neck. A win in the state of Michigan would give the winner 15 electoral votes, which is why both Vice President Harris and former President Trump are converging on the state this month to shore up support before Election Day. FOX News Radio’s Josh Kraushaar joins to explain why the Democratic coalition is not fully on board with VP Harris and key voter demographics former President Trump must reach to win the state.

The campaign for the White House is in the final stretch as former President Trump and Vice President Harris start making their last pitches to voters on the trail. Vice President Harris has recruited former Presidents Obama and Clinton to make the case to voters in swing states to vote for Harris, while former President Trump has been on a media blitz, appearing on podcasts and forums across the nation. One of former President Trump's campaign stops will be Georgia, where he is set to do a FOX News town hall with Faulkner Focus anchor Harris Faulkner. Harris Faulkner joins the Rundown to discuss what she is hoping to cover with the former President, what issues the voters are focusing on ahead of Election Day, and what she is seeing from both the Harris and Trump campaigns.
An electoral tie in a presidential election is unlikely and rare; however, this year the odds of that scenario have increased. If both candidates were to secure 269 electoral votes each, Congress would step in as a tiebreaker. The process is more complicated and nuanced than it seems, and FOX News senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram joins to game out how an electoral tie could happen and how it would be resolved.
