This movie is like the Substitute 2, but instead of Treat Williams laying down the law, it's Cyborgs played by Pam Grier, Patrick Kilpatrick, and John P Ryan. Happy Friday the 13th! This week we are talking about the last Friday the 13th that hit theaters with Friday the 13th 2009. It's a remake but is focused on Jason, who is barely in the original. We had our horror sequel expert Chris Egan back to help us unravel this new type of Jason who gave us a lot to dissect. Bill talked about growing up outside of Nashville and how going to the movies like Jaws and King Kong at a young age with his parents, reading Fangoria Magazine at the newsstand, Howard Berger, Dick Smith's Advice, Jason Goes to Hell, New Zealand, and more. Tom Parsons was a local make-up artist in Nashville who helped out Bill at the age of 13 and was an important part of Bill's journey. I loved Bill's journey and his passion for life.

This week we are talking about the all lady caper, "Ocean's 8". This sequel gave us a lot to discuss like the fact that the most important part the heist makes ZERO sense because of how there are cameras EVERYWHERE. cough fake necklace in the fountain cough. We also discussed the Ocean family of crooks, what you wear leaving prison, how all heist movies are one big Rube Goldberg, and more. Lots of fun and Jamie was miserable.

The next sequel we will be discussing is "Oceans 8". For it, I chatted with an Actress Charlotte Kirk who had a small role in that movie but now has starred in films in 2020 and has a new film "Duchess" coming out on August 9th, 2024!
Charlotte talks about her journey at 19 to the United States to pursue acting. She started with acting schools and then began to audition. We talked about her early roles in big films and how they helped her to take in what works behind the scenes when making a movie. She talks about how she wanted to make the movies she wanted to star in and see, then wrote them with Neil Marshall. Next year she stars as Nicole Brown Simpson in "The Juice." Great chat.
