We have talked about ADHD in our Podcast before but more focused on Children's. Today, we have Chelsea Jones who is a Masters in Social Work Student and has dedicated a lot of time researching ADHD in Women. This is a very important topic and one many people do not know much about. Come and learn more about this topic as well as some great resources!
Chelsea Jones is currently in her final year of her Master's of Social Work degree from Utah State University. She created the “Women and ADHD” psychoeducation group at the Sorenson Center for Clinical Excellence at Utah State University and co-facilitates the class. Chelsea strives to create a safe space to talk about difficult topics and build communities of support. Her interests include navigating neurodiversity, exploring identity through a multicultural lens, and honoring the strength that each person holds.
Originally from Florida, Chelsea is the oldest of five kids and is a first-generation American. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education and worked as an educator in Idaho and Utah. Chelsea currently resides in Logan, UT where she likes to hike and explore with her husband and children. In her free time, Chelsea enjoys playing the guitar/piano, writing standup comedy, and connecting with other humans and learning about their life passions.

Just as everything else changes with time, attitudes, actions, and views of school also change. Using a data called the SHARP Survey, Jen and Hilary discuss various insights and reflect on their school experience and how this varies from the experience students are having now. Conflict is a part of our daily life. Even when we say we don't like conflict so we do not have it, that is conflict! However, while it is part of our daily life, many of us do not know how to work through and deal with Conflict. Karleen Savage is here to share her knowledge and walk us through steps to work through it. Through Curiosity to reframing, we can all learn better how to handle conflict.
Karleen has a Masters of Conflict Resolutions and Negotiations. She is also a certified hostage and crisis negotiator and has worked crisis lines and conflict chat sessions online. She has over 15 years of experience in this and has created a course to help educate others on how to resolve conflict.

Any mother can tell you there are a lot of joys and hardships that go along with having a new baby. One aspect of motherhood that is not talked about as much is Perinatal health as whole. Today we have Jessica Allred, an LCSW and PMH-C here to talk to use about this very important subject to what it is, how to help others who are struggling and what we can do as a community to get the conversation about Perinatal started.
Jessica holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. With over 12 years of experience in private practice, Jessica’s dedication to expanding her services led her to become the Co-Owner and clinical director of Treat Counseling, where she now trains other clinicians.
Specializing in Perinatal Mental Health, Jessica is certified in this field with a PMH-C and is deeply committed to empowering women, helping them find their voices, and fostering self-love. She has written a curriculum for, and begun a free support group for pregnant and postpartum moms and runs the group weekly both virtual and in person.

While in the midst of a Masters degree at Utah State University, Amanda Petersen was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Not only a master student but also being a wife and mother, Amanda continued her education and teaching as well as being their for herself and her family. Pat Roos is on our podcast today talking about her Story of Resilience. This is a sad story of how her son died of an overdose. Pat shares with us his story as well as how she has been able to be resilient in surviving her son and how she has been able to turn grief into action.
Pat is also a Professor Emerita of Sociology at Rutgers University, has devoted her career to the study and research of work, gender, inequalities, stratification, work/family dynamics, and addiction.
She retired in July of 2020. In May, 2024, Rutgers University Press published her book about grief and resilience: Surviving Alex: A Mother's Story of Love, Loss, and Addiction.
